Are you predicting that they will win it or just be a contender?

I know that they lost the little pointguard, the light skinned post guy(25) and one of the wings(24). They will be young this year with a talented sophomore class. They will be relying on some kids that havent seen the floor before. But if those young guys can rise to the challenge they could be very good. (Big if though) I have seen several of the young ones playing in aau.

I also think Kenwood could make a little noise this year. I don't think they will win the district but I think they could be in the mix. As you said, the talent is there with Smith and Banks leading the charge. I think if the coaches can get those guys on the same page, look out. Rossview was HUGE last year. Did they lose any of those bigs?

Oh, I know. I heard he gave Caldwell all that he wanted last year. I have to get out and see this kid play. Any other stars to watch in this district?

How about the kid from Springfield? I have not seen him play but heard that he was hard to handle late in the season last year. Is he as good as advertised?

As a Clarksville resident and Peay basketball fan, this is great news. Coach Loos just keeps bringing in quality players just as Coach Rudisill keeps pumping them out. Congrats to Chris and both programs. Love to see these guys staying in-state.

The start of practice is right around the corner. Who is the sexy pick this year for the district crown, now that Caldwell is gone from Clarksville High. Rossview looks solid on paper. Springfield looks to be a one man show. Northwest and Kenwood are breaking in new coaches but have a fair amount of talent returning. I have no clue about Henry Co or Northeast. Any thoughts?

Not sure about the "more" part, but they will definetly miss Cutter. He single-handedly broke pressure for them last year. And rarely turned it over. Good shooter also.

No, you can condition and lift the kids July 7-26, but no open facilities or practice of any kind. Then, its dead again through Aug 20. It was dead for the rest of the summer until the Basketball Coaches Association of TN submitted a new proposal in march that gave us this conditioning period. It also added a couple of days of practice in early June, I believe. But Rigsby is correct.

Never heard of him either. Just what I read in the article. This time of year, you will probably see a bunch of new names getting jobs. I just don't think many big name coaches are still looking this late in the summer. I could be wrong.

Anyone know who the frontrunner for this job may be? The principal said in the paper that the freshman coach wasn't ready to take over cause he is too young. Kinda late in the game. How many top coaches are still job hunting this time of year?

I believe they are promoting the assistant coach. I have some friends who teach there and that is the consensus.

A great deal of Siegal's success came from Coach Harris. Not sure that will continue. They are very talented though. CPA and Station Camp will be very strong, along with Beech.

So, do you think this great coach will be able to turn around a struggling Goodpasture program. Quality coaching helps, but you do need some players also. Not sure that GP has any. It is a pretty weak district though but a really tough region with all those upper cumberland teams. It will definetly test Spann's abilties. The man can obviously coach but he has his work cut out for him on this one, I think. Any word yet on who the hire is gonna be?
