  1. because the teams are composed of almost all club players just like those of 3A schools they would compete very well just on a more even playing field
  2. seymour graduates 9 and the losses are key
  3. A/AA 11:30 CAK vs. CCS 2:00 pm USJ vs. CPA 4:30 ND vs. Jackson Christian 7:00 FRA vs. Knox Catholic AAA soccer is turning into an extension of private schools it seems cause no matter what publics cannot compete
  4. If this is like the one in the regular season it will go down to the wire, anyone have a prediction?
  5. Well TSSAA says you don't have to play a full district schedule to be included in the tournament coach said but i think the girls will be just fine as long as they show up and come to play
  6. wow now that is a shocker what happened anyone have any info
  7. i agree with G completely but i think the problem ultimately is that the girls and boys are held to different standards the girls can get away with murder most of the time and the guys get cards for ticky tack fouls but i think the refs think because it is girls that they do not play reckless or if they do it is because they are girls so they should not be punished as an official it is your job to take care of the players on the field and alot of the refs fail to do so just like hand balls girls can hand ball a ball all game long with no calls they are all accidents i am sorry but a handball for boys is a handball for girls and refs don't hold these standards for both but outlawing slode tackles is not the answer but haveing referees be stricter on the girls would solve alot of the injury problems we are seeing becuase lack of officials officiating
  8. congrats alcoa nice showing to bad you couldn't come away with the win but hixon has played a tough schedule and to come from behind shows alot of heart especially against a quality opponent but now that shows us in the knoxville area we can definately compete with all these ranked chattanooga schools job well done girls and coaches
  9. i believe in the alcoa and seymour district their tie breaker is goal differential but with that said seymour is +18 and alcoa is +16 with alcoa done in the district and seymour still 3 games remaining alcoa beat the remaining teams on seymours schedule by 18 goals that would mean seymour has to beat there last opponents by 17 goals to be the #1 seed in the tournament most districts and tournaments put a limit of up to three goals differential this encourages teams to slaughter opponents of lesser strength than them is this right or wrong and why and if i am incorrect on the tie break let me know this is just what i have heard up to this point
  10. well from an outsiders view, the opponents you play aren't always as important as the way you play the opponents you are faced with, some teams have weak districts and some are strong but this is not football there is not a BCS rankings and the regular season matters none at all except to get ready for tournaments were the teams with passion and knowledge will succeed
  11. seymour vs. alcoa thursday at 6:00seymour vs. alcoa thursday at 6:00
  12. well the parents are begging for that to happen but the coach is still reluctant to do so but in their defense the schedule is leaps and bounds above what it was last year last year seymour only played 1 AAA opponent and this year they have 6 so it was a small step in the right direction but i do agree completely G
  13. i took the compliment but it wasn't for me it was for the girls at seymour i was just saying seymour must get better to compete in the region because obviously whether boys or girls CAK and Catholic in soccer are one heck of an obstacle for a small community with only 2 soccer fields in the town but we try to get them ready the best we know how at the younger ages but it is still an uphill battle competing with the teams in knoxville
  14. What match-up? Any match-up in the region will be a tough one. Seymour is so young and only has 3 club players, but we will see what happens in the coming weeks. Good Luck Ladies!
  15. Courtney Suttles FWD Tiffany Miles MF Deborah Huddleston DEF all from Seymour are great players and only sophmores
  16. seymour 0 knox west 2 really a 1-0 game but the coach was moving people around to score at the end and gave up a cheap goal but seymour was just not able to capitolize on any scoring chances the west keeper shut everything down seymour tried and good luck to the seymour girl who went down on a nasty head collision
  17. nope i just coach young one's in the area too old for highschool kids
  18. intersting info for mustcoach and transam guess what last night the "powerhouse" (pretty sure that is how mustcoach put it) Sequoyah defeated South Doyle 4-1 if i remember correctly powell tied south doyle but it was the worst officiated game ever so says transam anyway congrats to you young ladies and keep up the good work
  19. Austin East forfeits to seymour again 2 years in a row why have a team the year before that they walked off the field at halftime
  20. sounds like something to go to the administration at the school with if it is true
  21. money now come on maybe he needs the girls to play different positions because the team is lacking in certain areas it will help the girls become total players or better all around just give the guy a chance it is early in the season and you are throwing him under the bus because some girls aren't playing the same position they play in club
  22. i would assume "he" means the coach maybe he is still not sure how it should be powell is a young team and the results haven't been all that great and he is trying different combinations give him a break
  23. looks good just not to sure about sevier county being in the top ten overall lenoir city would be a safe choice though other than that i think it looks good but we still have a long way to go
