While we scratching our heads on this, I have heard of one prominent Knoxville High School team that is going to have fall scrimmages off campus. They are going to split up in two teams and do this off of school property. Legal or illegal?

Any news on hiring of new coach at William Blount High School?

If he had three juniors that were drafted in the top 40 spots, sounds like they had talent. Wonder why they cannot make the NCAA tournmanet the last two years? I believe that Mike Hamilton wants a successful team that is in the running for the SEC championship every year. I know it is not possible to win the SEC for anyone every year, but be more competitive than TN has been. This will attract hometown talent as well as talent from all over the country. For Example, look how TN basketball recruiting has changed. Players that are being recruited by Duke, NC, are also considering TN. No knock on Coach D., just the facts. A famous quality management person once said, "Change is the only constant."

The end result is they didn't attend TN for various reasons. His job as a coach and recruiter is to get them to come there to further their education and play baseball. I do not know every reason, but I am very aware of a few of them. I believe each Division I school is alloted the same number of scholarships, so everyone has that to work from. This is not meant to criticize, just posting some facts on a message board.

South Doyle had a very good season this year defeating Seymour twice. If I got beat the way you did this year by them I wouldn't make such an ignorant post. I believe your team got one hit the first game and the second game there was 16 K's. Sounds like there needs to be some Bower field recruiting on your end. Ryan White tore his ACL, not MCL, in gym class about a week after Cody Hawn tore his ACL. Cody was going to play third base-Arkansas signee. Ryan White is a junior I think and he was going to play second base. South Doyle had a great season to make it to the state championship game without these two great ballplayers. South Doyle's lineup would have been pretty scary. Anyways, good luck to South Doyle next year- maybe they can do what Bartlett did- lose in the state championship game only to come back and win it all the next year.

Don't forget Ryan White, you left him out. I have watched him play for years and I believe that lineup would have been even stronger with him in it. Someone said he tore his ACL, but would be back next year. I am sure it is hard to sit and watch his team play for the state championship as well as Cody Hawn sitting watching also.

I wonder how the new Hardin Valley High School will affect Farragut baseball? Anything can happen if you don't come ready to play on any given day. A dominating pitcher sure helps don't it?

Wow! What a day in 4 AAA! Bearden is upset by Lenoir City. William Blount beats Farragut. I did not see these two games turning out the way they did. So- Bearden is now eliminated, and Farragut drops down to the loser's bracket. TG24- SD will play WB now, but I am not sure of what time they will play. If anyone finds out, please let us know. Also, does anyone know who won the Heritage and Sevier County game?

I must admit this is one of the best posts I have seen on here in quite some time. You really do know what you are talking about. But- I just thought I would let you know that Bearden has won around 20 games this year. I do not know an exact number, but I do know that they are a very solid team, anyone that has lost to Bearden should not be ashamed. They have a very solid rotation.

I believe that the Admirals have improved greatly since the first of the season. I am picking them to win district tournament. They have alot of good players who can contribute. It a tournament with alot of games, sometime innings by pitchers and numbers make a big difference.

Consistency! Important to be a successful player as well as pitcher.
