  1. You played a MTCS team with a one faced defensive scheme..half of the offensive side. I'll admit you guys stayed in the game and scared me at times, but lets be honest...you can stay with any team that has half its game ready. Just my opinion. annnnd i guess i'll go ahead and say what every team who lost this year wants to say, "we'll have the refs paid and ready to screw your team over at any time...and we'll bring our big donors up there to make sure of it" hahaha i loved reading that all year.
  2. Bojangles...all you needed was one more year with Beckham and Hendrix. State was coming hahah
  3. yeah really, private school kids are no different from any other school. If anything we are at a disablity, we dont have near the numbers as any of the county schools we play. Talent comes with the practice, hard work, and conditioning that the coaches and senior athletes stress. There's no special recruiting, or "scholarships" given...its a free will choice to come to MTCS. Coach Shad has alot to do with the success our boys are having, knowing how to use each member and TEACHING the boys the game. I believe in years past the program has been unsuccessful because of lack of knowledge of the game. It takes a good understanding to be a good player. Coach Shad has done a great job building of Coach Bassham's teaching. I'm not saying his coaching was horrible, he helped alot of players become better and spent time after practice offering help and advice. I expect to see a good crowd, Cascade always brings the town with them to support their boys, MTCs is averaging a better crowd this season (wonder why haha). I won't make any predictions. Best of luck to all the boys tonight. Cant wait for Cougar Baseball...sorry to bring that up in the football thread.
  4. I've been texting some friends throughout the game so far..in the 3rd. Jo Byrns-16 MTCS-8. Not sure on time and possesions. Jo Byrns has shut down the running game. ANNNNNND apparently this game is louder than most SEC games hahah...definately more loud than any MTSU game hahah
  5. MTCS athletes are not allowed to use CoachT. Alot of the parents don't use it. Because I have graduated, I am now allowed to use it. haa I haven't seen MTCS practice, i dont know what they are running. BUT it is the 1st game of te season so i expect both teams to be pumped and ready, it should be a nice game.
  6. I agree the prices are ridiculous and the parking away from the field and then having to pay is even more ridiculous. I had to work the parking lot crew at MTCS and we were told that everyone who parked on campus had to pay the $5 fee for a parking pass. I didnt like having to make people walking up to the parking lot pay but TSSAA told us that it was very strict this year. We also had to make players pay who didnt recieve a pass...thats a bit too much...if your team is not issued enough passes they should not be held liable to pay for their players who earned the honor to play in state. My apologies to anyone who had feelings hurt at the MTCS location.
  7. Next year should be a big year for district 9a. Cascade has been past regions 2 years in a row, and Middle TN Christian has been to regions back to back years. You dont normally see a 9a team in the final days of state, but maybe next year will start a trend for 9a teams to advance on and move into the finals days of state. Normally the district tourny for 9a is much like a state tournement. 4 great teams this year (Forrest, Cascade, Eagleville, and MTCS) battled it out. These schools are not in a weak region or a weak district at that. Having to play Nashville Christian and East Robertson and Clarksville Acad. So with all this said, what are next years predictions on this district? Who will advance past district? Who has lost too many to be good? (im also expecting Cascade11 to reply to this in bold bright orange font haha which has been fun to see for the past 5yrs of my high school playing expirence.)
  8. Mack sat my older brother out of his last game at Oakland High School in the State Tourny. His reasoning was that my brother signed to a college to early. No offense to Coach Hawks, but doesnt that seem a bit harsh? Maybe there is some reasoning behind it, but i'm glad i went to MTCS. I got 5 yrs. at a starting position, and have the highest respect for the game. My dad and brother both have told me that the decision to play there was wise. I could have played AAA ball for a respected coach (coach hawks) and could have gotten more interest from colleges but still i'm glad i went to a private school. Congrats to Oakland and another great season! You boys make the community very proud.
  9. We got Jesus *clap clap clap clap clap* We're still rich *clap clap clap clap clap* hahaha all these chants we should have used.
  10. I will agree that Cascade does clean my dishes well...but they will embarress your team if you don't come to play. SO before ragging on someone be sure you can atleast dime em'.
  11. Very true. Every game is an important game. As for the 14 runs on 15 hits, that is quite impressive. That just goes to show you that Cascade has good bats and from what i've heard have pretty good pitching. April 16th. and 17th. will be good game and will determine who is going to have the #1 spot. Good luck to both teams.
  12. MTCS is looking foward to April 17th. Cascade is having a great season and MTCS is playing good ball. This game is going to be a good one and will determine #1 in the District. Good luck to both teams. How are Cascades bats looking lately. I've heard Parker talking about how well the pitching is this year, I'm just curious about their hitting so far.
  13. Middle TN Christian is developing into a sound baseball team. They are playing good ball and have a good start to their season (11-4 w/ a 6 game win streak). They beat triple A school Shelbyville and single A team Nashville Christian (w/o MTCS's 3,4,and 5 hitters). I'm not bragging on my team I'm just saying that we are playing better and this is a good chance for us to achieve something we never have. 20 wins.
  14. Why Eagleville? They are solid but honostly they are no better than 3rd. or 4th. in their District (9a). Their pitching is better than last year (a little more expirence this year) but they still are no better than 3rd. or 4th.
  15. Eagleville isn't quite what it was last year. THey are still a very solid team and they finish well. We played them twice and both times they made comebacks late in the game. Eagles will hopefully push past their #3 ranking (on-the-ball magazine).
