  1. Anyone want to put their inputs on who the stars will be in West TN this year?
  2. My picks are as follows: 5A - Quad 4 Ridgeway over East ... 42 - 10 Mitchell beats Hardin County ... 35 - 21 Dyer County in a close one over Craigmont ... 35 - 31 Jackson N.S. over Melrose ... 35 - 34 6A - Quad 4 Whitehaven over White Station ... 30 - 28 Wooddale wins at Arlington ... 21 - 17 Collierville wins on the road at Dickson Co ... 31 - 28 Brighton surprises Germantown ... 35 - 24 Div. II Briarcrest wins ... 21 - 20 St. Benedict .. 14 - 10
  3. I say if the strength of schedule is any idication of success and failure than the team that played the stronger schedule should always win, right? Wrong! Any team that puts up over 400 pts shouldn't be classified as not very good - no matter who they played! I think Brighton could surprise a lot of people on how far they could go in the playoffs this year. I know, we have thought this before but I really think this could be the year to make it at least to the third round. Unless you've seen this team play, you will be surprised at the talent on this team. There are at least 2 or 3 Div I prospects on this team and they are underclassman! Go Cards!
  4. Couldn't agree w/you more. This one is all about pride. This is the problem sometime when you have a very tough schedule. Whitestation is an example of this, they are 4-5 going into the last week. However, they will squeak into the playoffs with a win. While it appears Arlington has the clear advantage over Millington, anything is possible. I don't think Bolton can handle Cordova but I still think Cordova misses the playoffs as well. At any rate, Quad 4 will be very interesting with all 8 teams being very competitive from top to bottom. I wouldn't want to be the team having to play the number 7 or 8 seed, this could be very dangerous! On another note, I don't know why TSSAA can't align districts to include the same class of schools. I think all 6A teams should be paired in the same district, as well as 5A, 4A, 3A, etc. For example why is Brighton not in the same district as Millington, Arlington, Bolton, Cordova - all 6A teams. Instead they are stuck in a district where they are the only 6A team. Doesn't make sense to me. Just sayin...
  5. Looking at the TSSAA website, Dickson County should be in Quad 3 My Quad 4 predictions 1 Whitehaven vs. 8 Cordova or White Station 4 Wooddale vs. 5 Collierville 2 Brighton vs. 7 Germantown 3 Arlington vs. 6 Houston
  6. My predictions for Quad 4 1) Whithaven 9-1 2) Brighton 9-1 3) Arlington 8-2 4) Wooddale 7-3 5) Germantown 6-4 6) Collierville 6-4 7) Houston 5-5 8) Cordova 5-5 Cordova @ Whitehaven -- Whitehaven wins big 21 or more Houston @ Brighton -- Brighton wins by 10 Collierville @ Arlington -- Arlington wins by 14 Germantown @ Wooddale -- Wooddale wins by 10 Sorry Millington by my projections you get left out this year - but I could be wrong it could be Millington instead of Cordova.
  7. Do the District winners not host a first round playoff? How do two #1s play each other in the first round, that doesn't seem right? ie. Brighton vs Whitestation both Dist winners. I guess anything is possible with this system, I've never seen a more confusing classification/playoffs system in all my life and I've lived in 5 different states.
  8. Region 7AAA Cordova 3 Brighton 2
  9. I know it's easy to overlook Brighton but they are playing in the regionals for the second year in a row. They have a couple of outstanding players that should be considered: Justin Smith (Sr.) 10 goals, 3 assists Dylan Burnett (Soph) 17 goals, 16 assists
  10. Anyone know who's leading AAA in goals/assists/points?
  11. Best of West TN Sophs Arlington Eddie Argote Brighton Dylan Burnett Christian Brothers Michael Pietrangelo Wade Garrett Johnny May Collierville Kevin Hensley Will Parks Cordova Ahmad Zahir White Station Jono Edelman Memphis University School George Utkov
  12. Just a big soccer fan that lives in Tipton County. Played a little when I was in school many years ago in GA. Sounds like Millington has pretty much a whole new team? Brighton actually lost 6 players but they have some strong replacements I hear. It should be an interesting year...
  13. Brighton will be strong again this year in Region 7. They will be hungry after loosing 2-1 to Cordova in the Regional Championship Match last year. They lost five starters but but have a couple of strong players who transferred from LA and a foreign exchange student from Germany. A few returning senior starters will rely heavily on their assist leader of a year ago who was just a freshman last year. Key players to watch: Justin Smith (Sr/Fwd), Nick Evans (Sr/Def), Justin Kramer (Jr/MF), Hayden Robbins (Jr/Def) & Dylan Burnett (Soph/Fwd/MF).
  14. Brighton has a very talented Freshman in Dylan Burnett. He is tall, strong, and very quick on the outside. He has started all their games and only subbed out a few times. He's scored several goals and is probably the assist leader for the team. He is definetely one to watch over the next 3 years!
