There is really no room for questioning GC's work ethic on this board. Have you been watching the games this year? You don't get to the state tournament w/o work ethic. They practice/play for one of the best coaches in the state day in and day out, really Linerd, what are you thinking? If you can't look at it objectively and see that they are a good team, can you remember a few weeks ago when they shut Kendall down(which is something most teams have not been able to do) and we lost the regional to them? GC Fan- You took the words right out of my mouth, I was just thinking that it's posts like "way to go gc" that give fans and teams a bad image. GC Fan- rest assured, the fans who have been there game after game know that GC has plenty of heart and work ethic, they just got the really tough side of the bracket. Thanks for your props to Kendall in another thread. It's nice to see that people can be objective and recognized work ethic and heart when they see it. Best of luck to the GC seniors- As for the returnees, can't wish you guys too much luck, we have to square off next year you know! As for the lady Chargers- you've had a great year, it's time to finish strong and bring home the gold.

I really thought GC was going to come back during their third quarter run. While they have been Westview's biggest rival and greatest opponent this season, I still admire and respect their game. Maybe all those home games during tournament time made it harder for GC to get comfortable on the Murphy Center court. I don't know. I know Westview is breathing easier knowing they won't meet GC for the final, but I still would have liked to see WV/GC round 5. Sorry to see them go so early but they have been a great club to watch this year and have much to be proud of.Gg

Good luck Lady Chargers! They don't call you guys the fab five for nothing... You're on your way to the final game. About the comment "Gibson Co stinks". I'm by no means a "Gibson Co fan", but nothing would make me happier than to see West Tenn, (13AA) sweep this tournament. I'd love to see Gibson Co and Westview in the final with Westview winning of course- but whoever thinks "Gibson Co stinks" is just dumb. Losing to Gibson Co may stink, but Gibson Co is all about business and they've got the same thing on their minds as our lady chargers. Hope they can get past Chester Co and would love it if they beat Jackson Co and flushed all this 4-peat garbage down the drain. Good luck Lady Chargers!

My vote is for Kendall Cavin. She is obviously deserving of this honor. I was shocked not to see Rowsey's name on the ballot, but her absence in no way minimizes the talent of the other ladies nominated. Congrats Kendall! We are so proud of you and the Lady Chargers. You definitely deserve this nomination and I hope to see you add this to trophy collection and do you think you could do something about that gold ball waiting to be claimed in Murfreesboro? It was a regular season game. 9AA Tournaments don't start until Monday the 24th. Page and Giles Co will probably battle it out for District. They split in the regular season and in their second meeting Page edged Giles by 2pts. Who knows, Page and Westview might meet down the road. Should be a nail biter in 9AA just like 13AA. Can't wait to get back to West Tennessee to watch 13AA in Regions.

getupview- you said it. I have to agree with you on the rebounding issue. I still believe Westview is the most talented team in the district but last night the view was off when it came to foul shots and rebounds- whatever happened to following your shot? The threes weren't falling the way I had hoped they would. GC outplayed us at the foul line and under the basket. On a positive note, it was good to see all our seniors on the floor throughout the night. Glad to see Fuqua working so hard under the goal, she's been missed and really glad to see DeSantis on the floor last night.

I'm hoping the view will stay out of foul trouble; hopefully Cavin will be able to set the pace- reynolds will be on fire from the arch and meghan will pull rebounds. My fingers are crossed that DeSantis will be back soon, like in 3 hours. Good luck girls! I think you can do it.

Ya know, I'm always interested to read what people will predict when it comes to big games (OC, GC, Chester) but I don't think tonight's game with Union City will generate a lot of hot discussion. Anybody would predict that the Lady Chargers will win, hopefully the bench will play a lot and this game will remind the girls that winning is something they do. I hope the game will boost their morale and get them back in sync for the big game next Tuesday. Don't count those girls out. They are more than capable. Fuqua- hope you are back in action tonight.

the game sounded like a great one! it's hard to beat oc in "the pit" when it's close! coach hoffman is doing a great job with those girls. don't overlook occhs' girls come tournament time! good job kendall - i was listening to the radio when she nailed a half courter at the half!!

Wescharge, what did you think of the Bellamy-Baird match up. Looks like Westview's got a freshman fire that GC might not be able to stop on the 28th.
