Just to clarify, Houston beat St. Benedict tonight 2-1. Strange evening--lights didn't work at St. Benedict, so the game started early and was called with about ten minutes left when a Houston player landed on her neck and was taken away by ambulance. (It would have been dark by the time the game was able to restart anyway.) She'll be fine--just a few muscle strains. You're right, they're physical.

Nope, not a goal. A PK is always awarded in that case, but the goal isn't a given. I guess they figure the disadvantage of playing a man short outweighs the automatic goal. Of course, I've been on teams that have missed the PK, so try telling them that!

Since no one's posted anything yet..... I left the CBHS-JPII game with about 15 minutes to go, and it was 6-1 for CBHS. They controlled virtually all of the play--JPII didn't have too many other chances other than the one they scored on.

According to the Hendersonville Soccer website, all of Friday's games are cancelled. Just as well--it's been pouring all day out here in west TN. Saturday and Sunday look good for the moment--we'll have to see how the field holds up.
