  1. Just a note - Friendship has been non-denom for several years. Although, they've had very little turnover in their coaching ranks so I'd say most of the coaches are COC. Get the MTCS basketball coach to make a few calls. He's a Friendship alum.
  2. If I was a 6'7" frosh b-ball player, MBA wouldn't have made my top 5 places to transfer to for basketball only. Now considering getting a quality education rivaled by few in the state (perhaps the country) AND the opportunity to play basketball ... priceless. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Good move boys! And they did the move legally. Imagine if they were girls and they had transferred to Shelbyville. Would there be much of a fuss? /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
  3. I'm not trying to be flip ... but the answer is because they don't have to. The accept the multiplier and the rule that they can not have athletes on scholarship.
  4. Actually, I counted 6 "transfers" for my local public school team. And they made no bones about why they "transferred" either. And I'm dang glad to have them! /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />
  5. Woohoo! Congrats Hillsboro on winning it all and ending the streak! Welcome to playing with the big boys next year Maryville!
  6. The second "annointed" team - down and out. Last week South Pitt. This week Henry Co. Good luck Hillsboro. I want to see a Maryville loss!
  7. Not to answer for BC and Boyd, but I do know of 1 girl who became pregnant as a junior at a private I live near and she was allowed to continue attendance and graduate. She did have to go before the board since the act by which she got pregnant broke the student conduct code. I believe her appeal was "if God can forgive me, why can't you." No truer statement there - and she was allowed to stay.
  8. But not a 2008 championship ring. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  9. Anointed no more! Great job of smacking them in the mouth and pulling out the win! I love it when self-anointed folks have to eat a little crow. Then they cry about it and say the refs were horrible or paid off. I guess good sportsmanship isn't taught down in them thar parts. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  10. How about mutual decision between both coaches. Says so the paper. (and no, I don't believe everything that I read)
  11. I'm not from or affiliated with FCS. I'm just anti-redneck. /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" /> And yes, they are all rich. /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />
  12. You do realize the implications of what you are wanting to do here, right? Logical reasoning is taught in Trousdale, right? I always thought folks from Trousdale were a little light in their loafers, but I believe all the rich boys of FCS are going to have to watch their tailpipes all night long! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  13. What exactly are you planning on doing to them? /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" I'm envisioning "Deliverance". So appropriate for Trousdale! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  14. Ahem - earth shattering enough that Satterfield tucked and ran! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  15. I know Coach Martin and he only hates privates schools on game day - just like he despises all his opponents on game day. He worked at Sports World in Lebanon on the side for years. Virtually every child and grandchild of the owners of Sports World/Lebanon Chemical attended FCS. He was living in the hornets nest if he hated them all. I can't say it enough, Coach Martin is very good people. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  16. I'm going with FCS by 21. Yes, a beat down by this regions standards since they are usually close.
  17. Their enrollments are doubled since they are not coed schools. Total school enrollment for other schools includes both sexes.
  18. Ha! That is rich! You think I'm the coach! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Read back over all of my past posts here on this board. Not just the ones you selectively read on the LCA threads. I'm far from being a coach by any means. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  19. Well, if you count attending church at MJ 1st Baptist as being "VERY closely associated with MJCA" - well then I'm guilty as charged. I have no kids that attend MJCA or will I ever. I do pull for their teams as I know many of the teachers and students from church though. Poor folks, the church/school admins can't seem to get it together. If they just built a real upper school campus and expanded, they would be in a great position to grow tremendously. However, I am a rabid fan of the MJ Bears. We are young this year, taken a few lumps - but are still undefeated in region play. And I absolutely would NOT love for my team to be where LCA is. In fact, I would hate it very much. Especially, if folks were getting on boards and popping off about a stellar season when their team is far, far from being anything close to stellar. I will say that I do believe that the LCA coaches are doing it right though. You have to build interest in the program and womping a bunch of lesser teams will definitely bring in some interest. Literally, you two guys are my only real world connections to LCA. My only other recollections are driving to the soccer fields in Smyrna by passing the school building and watching on the news about the school founders kid (or grandkid) putting a whoopin' on some poor kid and not getting punished at all for it.
  20. I'm very glad that you are rabid about your team .... BBBBUUUUTTTT .... you aren't yet playing a TSSAA schedule and the schedule you are playing is unbelievably week. I'm sure you guys will be welcomed with open arms come next football season when you join the big boys. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  21. For the purposes of classification, the TSSAA will take the average class size for the classes they do have and then project the total for a full high school. They have done that with a few of the other schools in the past - especially if the classes will be filled within the next period. EDIT: I just saw the thread with the enrollment numbers and the TSSAA's extra considerations - of which, Signal Mtn. isn't listed (extra considerations that is). It will be interesting to see how that plays out.
  22. Now imagine that Howard was a well performing school that pushed all kids to excel. They might be running a story saying that class had 20 pharmacists now. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Why are we happy to say "look, they have one kid who was strong enough to forge ahead in a bad situation - so it can't be that bad" ?
  23. Ah, thanks for the offer. You can never have enough connections. /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" /> (Although, you know me - you just don't know it.)
