I have made many mistakes but I'm not trying to coach and lead young boys into becoming young men, like I said victories are way way more important then making sure that young men have someone to look up to, if you don't think everyone of those boys know about the issue 15 years ago and look at it as a cool thing then you are trully blinded by VICTORIES.

Karns asn't had a good coaching staff ever, the longest tenure is five years I think, no one wants to coach here due to great posters like boy that give an assessment against his team, read allot post and no matter what most fans on here support their programs regardless of wins and losses, its pretty easy to say we need a coaching change when the guys that are here was put in a position with four weeks until the season start, since you know so much about it boy why don't you drag your football knowledge out there and get the job when its open in Nov.

SS why don't you worry about your OR team that is lead by a guy that as no ethical standards, wins are assessed cheaply these days regardless of the type of person heading your program, as long as you can win then who cares about the CHARACTER of the HC, just saying if we are talking truths here. Karns is struggling and has struggled for years but you know if you support the team then support the team, if West played OR they would beat them as well.

Your right boy, its the coaching and the players, ya Karns looked totally out matched against West I venture to say West does the same to allot of teams, by the way your just like most avid Karns folks, way to support your team, with fans like you kinda shows you why we have been in the basement so long, please support some other team.

Its not RIDICULOUS statement, its a fact and yes the rec league does allow it because they don't have the back bone to correct the issue, EVERYONE IN KNOX COUNTY KNOWS it so try to justify all you want, maybe some day the TSSAA will take a look but, until then I guess we will have to just support the all county Fulton Falcons.As far as those kids that didn't play for Fulton HS a few years ago has nothing to do with today, don't get your feelings hurt, its great that you guys can get by with it.

Panther Nation don't feel to bad Fulton is one of the best recruited high school teams in the state, hard to beat a team with hand picked players from West,Austin East, Bearden, youth programs, well you get the picture, I am sure you guys will win the district.

Lets see 7 scored on fade once, dropped a fade that was a score ,25 scored on a curl, then Karns ran some kind of outside screen that went the distance because there wasn't anyone on the field that could catch 7, ya your right I guess the screens are the only thing we can do, like I said Polk and Green back good teams and have some tradition, poor old Karns doesn't have any tradition except losing, we probably go 2-8 this year for sure with our screens.

if we are going to talk about who we were missing then I guess considering that Karns was missing 3 starting OL, very good players and two D lineman both starters one to a death in the family the other to injury, then maybe we won't struggle as much as orngblk thinks. Polk and Greenback are fine teams but I think if Karns wanted to they could have thrown the ball allday and scored much more if they wanted to win a scrimmage, neither polk or Greenback could cover #7

orgnblk, so your saying that Karns will struggle, does that mean Polk and Greenback just aren't that good? year after year you here about 1A, 3A 4A 5A and so on ,yes there are some 5A teams that have the depth to two platoon but many teams play much of the same players on both sides of the ball, I don't think Coach Tipton looked at the scrimmage as win or lose but, more so as a chance to play some young guys to see where they are in abilities. Karns scrimmaged a very talented Hixson team and handled them very well and I belive they are selected to win their district, sorry orgnblk just don't see the point of trying to dismiss that Karns was able to play with you guys after you stated they would have their hands full, venture to say if the Karns coaches were concerned about winning a scrimmage they could have thrown every down with pretty good success. Both Polk and Greenback had trouble covering Karns Rec, much respect to both those programs because the teams are very talented.

yes, I think it will be good for Karns to scrimmage against two power houses like Polk and Greenback good programs with some history, Karns history not so good.

I think those scrimmages were done because after coach Witt left there was some confusion about who and when Karns was scheduled to scrimmage, not 100%sure just what was being said.

Karns looks to be improving, not much depth but they look to be playing hard in their first scrimmage.

All those are great points but, its the total support thing, heck you have teachers telling kids they shouldn't play football because the team is terrible, Not sure if any of you have been to their practices since coach Witt resigned but, I can tell you things look to moving in a good direction with some things and Mrs, Towe has stepped up getting the place looking better.

Karns yet looking for another new coach, Coah Witt was doing a great job trying to make the program at Karns respectful but, sometimes we have to go in different directions for family, I wish him the best and hope Karns can find a coach that wants to be there for the right reasons.

The D was very good in 2011 and will need to put together soem great players to follow those guys, besides Curtis being a hard hitter #32 on special teams last year looked to be very aggressive and some guys were saying he plays LB as well, seems we will have to find some good cover guys too.

it is just stupid that TSSAA would allow the siren, henry county fans need to have some class I am sure that even some of their fans think it is stupid, not sure where henry county is but I am sure they are part of that west tn fan base that thinks high school football stops in Nashville.

I took my son to a camp called Football Tech it is one of the best camps I have taken him to, this camp has some great seminars on the recruiting process and great information for parents while the players are learning on the field, we attended in KNoxville in April and will attend again on June 11th you should check it out if you want to get some great training.

Lets see Maryville has beat teams from the west a few times I know in a lessor class, I guess maybe they will move Maryville back down next re-classification cause there is no way they play with the big boys, oh they only beat Riverdale, oh now they wouldn't be able to hang in the west, maybe a little envy for Maryville they just keep beating teams that they are scheduled to play may lose the championship but why not give the guys credit when they were winning 4-A championships everyone said they wouldn't even make it to state let alone win state in the old 5-A beat everyone needed to, to get there now we'll see if they can play with the big boys, my take is they already have played with big boys nothing to prove win or lose a class football team and school

Bigtuna what a dumb a you are you spit this bull about being positive then you want to go onto another thread and talk about a situation that you know nothing about, I know Malcom Thomas very well and I can tell you without a doubt his son was leaving Karns regardless and for your small intune mine his son will be a very important part of the catholic team next year. What is going to be our excuse next year coach morris took our qb, HVA said something about us, its not fair to be in the same league with Oak Ridge, the list could continue on an on you just are to stupid to see the light. I can tell you, the get us a new coach petition is out there and it willl be hand delivered to the admin of KHS and the Knox county admin when the goal is reached and at the rate it is being signed that should be sooner than later and if you would like to discuss your knowledge in person we'll make sure you are invited to the delivery.

Football dad great info, I guess no one really has input on my question, Karns is a 6A school and we have only had 6 to 8 people post about them good or bad ever. Tuna seems to have the best answer they are only sophmores and they have played well, I know for fact that Maryville, William Blount, Oak Ridge, and couple others play with allot of sophmores, point these teams can play with younger players and win why not us, becasue they have feeder programs developing kids for their teams, karns has had a good youth program over the years and then when its time to play in HS something happens, does anyone have an answer or just we not give it a thought, maybe bigtuna can rally the faithful and sell them a bill of goods, I think football dad's post sums it up some schools have winning traditions some don't at least the baseball team wins a few.

Hey Bigtune, don't know what you ment about fruitful conversations but, there is one thing for sure you must be one of the few people that believe things are good here because all the friends I have that has attended games says it is a joke, every school in the state will play with a few sophmores some with more than others my question was real simple what happen to them yes varsity is much different, thats so for all teams playing young players, the statement was made on this post that young players would be to some fault of our play. If I can return from travels early enough friday I will see at the game one that we should win easily, one thing we do have is a qb that can get it done, hate to see a kid like that have to go through 3 years of struggles sure it has helped him become a better man.

All the promise of a very good freshman squad moving up to play on friday nights to turn out to be such a disappointment. The question is what happen? I have only attended 3 games this year and it sure didn't look very positive. Haven't posted in a while due to work travel but it seems Karns as certainly had some interesting posting going on. whats the thoughts?

just a hs football observer, with all the talk of Maryville being unable to play with the big boys or just being able to compete week after week because the biigger schools have ????????????? the last Maryville game I attended (Oak ridge) it seemed to me that Maryville had just has many players as they did, considering you have Alcoa Maryville five miles apart and the success they both have year after year I would say its the capital of HS winning football in the state, regardless of class, lets see you win 70+ games in a row, maybe only 50 schools in the whole country thats done that, multiple state champs, win your region every year, put countless into college with scholarships, win with class, and rebuild your program every four years, consider this then maybe Maryville was already a BIG BOY waiting for the chance to show what they could do or just maybe the big boys have met their David.
