  1. I've heard that Peabody is loaded with solid linemen with some of them being sophomores, but I am concerned about backs. Someone fill me in. My kid graduated a few years ago, and I've lost out on the inside loop.
  2. Dan Bland is now an assistant coach at Peabody. Thanks Humboldt. You just released one of the best in West TN.
  3. Lake County by 3 touchdowns. I hate it, but it looks like the yellowbritches won't go better than 3-7 this year.
  4. I am going to go ahead and say it - Peabody is the sleeper in the lower bracket. It is quite possible for them to end up in the semifinals. I've seen every game this season, and I'm tellin you - the Milan game was the only one where they were really overwhelmed. They pretty much just shot themselves in the foot in all the others. They are the dark horse in this scenario. And for the record - it hasn't always been coaching. Sure, there have been a few bad judgments and calls, but for the most part it has just been kids making mistakes that cost them. That happens. Good luck YellowBritches.
  5. Coach Hud told me that they wouldn't be playin on the new field until the fall of 2011. He said one more year on Freed field cause there's not enough time to get the new field ready now.
  6. Yeah. I think that would be correct. It would be a fairly easy transition to make. He would only have to get into microsoft word and delete "...your son in the 8th grade" and replace it with "...your son in the 5th grade" on the letters he sends out to prospective players. He should have a huge Pop Warner following if he makes the move. I would imagine the local Pop Warner club in the Eagleville area, if there is one, would be renamed to Pop Flatt Football.
  7. Thanks, and here's to the Milan squad going as far as they can in the playoffs. Go get'em dawgs.
  8. Well i missed the Milan game b/c i was on fall break with the wife and kids. I missed the JCS game b/c I had to work. But, I went to the USJ game tonight, and I have to say those Peabody players were playing like they were fighting for a 1st place finish. I know the whole town is proud of those kids for playing tough when they had little to play with and under some tough circumstances. USJ had a classy bunch of kids and fans. Great job by their bunch. Great job to the coaches, players, and everyone involved. We fans look forward to next year and what the new changes everyone is talking about have in store for Peabody football. Until then....Roll Tide!!!!
  9. I think ontheverge has a good point here. Won't be at the game tonight, headed out of town for a little fall break with the wife and kids, but will keep up with it on the cell phone. Roll Tide!!!!
  10. Hey Bo Peep, I'll have you know - I'm no little Jack Horner.
  11. Honey, this is a board where we are discussing football teams and how they perform. No one here is "bashing" or "talking about how terrible they are." In fact, you have stumbled on a conversation between two very big Trenton fans who are talking about their team. We are simply saying that the team doesn't have anyone to put in the game who has the ability to win against most of the opponents we have this season. Nothing we have said detracts from the loss of Matt Morris. I am not sure why you brought it up in your post. Yes, it was horrible for the team and the community. We have never said the players are not "playing their hearts out." In fact, Freeacen is very much on the side of the kids, and he has been primarily critical of the coaches. My post was very plainly pointing to the fact that the coaches are doing the best with what they can because there isn't anyone else to put in. I suggest you get your feelings off of your sleeve and either discuss what is meant to be discussed on the board or get off of it. Also, you are obviously a teenager, so please do not preach about life's difficulties to me.
  12. You know, you actually have some good points there. #1. Who is the jr high coach? I pretty much just come to the high school games, so I really don't keep up with freshman or junoir high. Is it a real concentrattion on fundementals? Do you think he will do a good job? In my opinion, that is where it all has to start. #2. Why move this Hudson to freshman? Is he good with them or somthing? #3. What exactly is Hodges's job? I think he is one of my kids teachers at the middle school. #4. I agree on Scott. He is a really good defensive guy. But, a defensive guy could still be head coach. Last - not a bad idea to open it up. It wold be good to see what kind of interest Peabody would get out of whoever is out there. Free, you seem like the kind of person who is intrested in the true health of the program at Peabody. You have some good ideas.
  13. So, what needs to happen in respect to the freshmen and junior high programs? Do all the coaches need to be dismissed and new ones hired? I really want to know what you would do if you could make changes in the whole Trenton football program. What specifically would you do?
  14. You know you love me. Maybe not as much as the cattle on the GC field, but you love me nonetheless.
