  1. It would be hard for the parents to move to a location when your playing for the National Team, they do different events, different states and countries, when they do training its not for more than 14 days, then they are released. The difficult part is watching your child play at an event and NOT being able to talk to them. As I hear it, Kat comes from a large family of 4 brothers and 4 sisters, chances are she will be close to family no matter where she is at. Don't forget how quickly your teammates and coaches become your family.
  2. Ever since I first saw this young Lady play, I knew she was going to make it BIG!!! not only is she an exceptional soccer player, she is an exceptional young lady. The event she was in is a major accomplishment. They will be picking the USA U17 2010 Womens World Cup Team from the young ladies that were at this event. My friends tell me that Kat had a great week, The USA U15 Team went undefeated and Kat was CAPTAIN!! What an honor, it is well deserved. Looking forward to seeing her play while she is still playing in Tennessee. By the way Kat is number 14 in the National Team
  3. I think everyone has lost their perspective, this is ONLY HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER. Lighten up..... The Eurosports rankings are not used by any college coaches, they are just for FUN!!!! NO one takes it seriously. Good Job to all players.....
  4. Coach Turner has produced another state championship, he is to be respected along with his players. This was a young team for him this year, still, he coached them and produced champions.... This game was remarkable. Bearden players , you have the respect of ALL of TN. What a game, you ladies deserved this game. I know I was wanting Collierville to win, but, in my opinion, you were the better team today. CONGRATULATIONS.
  5. Bearden 2 Collierville 1 Final Bearden were outstanding. Good Job Coach, Good Job players
  6. They are VERY respected in my part of TN, everyone and I mean everyone I speak to considers Bearden the top team in all of Knoxville, Chattannoga area. In fact, most have asked what club team Mr. Turner has his daughter playing on, so that they can also try out for that club team, since they do not have the opportunity to play with Bearden. Whatever makes you think they are not respected ? They may be just a very few who may say negative comments, but they are just all GREEN with envy. Like I said before, this team is about learning the game of soccer, working hard, training hard, playing hard. It's NOT about the bank account. Keep up the good work ladies, you guys are feared by your opponents, believe me when I tell you this. Hey dogmom, don't let a few rotten apples cloud your vision of what the majority feels, Bearden has been consistant, well disciplined, respectable, hard working and very skilled, year after year. That says a whole bunch about the coaching and the team. GOOD LUCK TODAY
  7. Should be the best soccer you'll ever see, Bearden has a remarkable team, I have the most respect for Coach Turner and wish there were more coaches like him out there, to feed the colleges with well trained players. Coach Turner is one of the coaches that plays his players according to their abilities and hard work not their parents bank account. Go Collierville, its not Luck, its SKILL.......Play your game Good Luck to both teams (no disrespect intended to anyone)
  8. I'm hoping for the same Collierville v. Bearden Final, with Collierville as the winners. GOOD LUCK to all the teams
  9. A ref does not lose or win a game, PLAYERS do. I am certain that 99.9% of each game each team had an opportunity to score, but did not because of the player, not the ref. I agree with Canesoverhere, respect, respect. My repect to the ref's, hard job, underpaid. Anticipating the games also...Good Luck everyone
  10. I had a friend at that game. He told me a few things that I am compelled to share. After watching the first 5 minutes of the game he went and spoke with Nigro's mother. She told him how Kat was playing a defensive game, not offensive. Kat knew that at this level of soccer the WHOLE team had to be able to play well, and that they simply did not have the training. Many of the girls where playing positions that they usually do not play, and have not been taught to play. So Kat was just hoping to be able to make some passes to keep the girls upbeat, and allowing the only senior on the team as much opportunity as possible with the ball since it would be her last game. My friend was so impressed that Nigros' mother was complementing the Notre Dame players during the game, on their passing and shooting and how well they all played together. When Notre Dame scored she was clapping and shouted "good team work girls". She was also cheering on the LA girls, not wanting them to stop trying. She mentioned to me what a difficult start it was for Kat at the beginning of the season, how her own teammate and the teammate's mother was so jealous of Kat that they worked against Kat and tried to get the rest of the girls against Kat. But I had already seen that at the two LA games that I attended, and I knew right away which player on her own team was working against her. College Scouts can see who the team players are. Kat's mother did say that most of the girls on the team respect Kat for her accomplishments. He asked about Kat's work out, and was told that Kat was given a work out schedule from her VP Coach, John Baker and that Kat followed it religiously, never missing a day and always pushing herself harder. She was on a nutritional diet that Baker gave her and also follows what the Nutritional Coach at National Camp told them. Mrs. Nigro also mentioned that KAT goes to a local PT place, and that Ron (the PT guy) takes care of her really good, and keeps are well "oiled". KEEP IT UP KAT, I'll see you at the next level. With all that said, Notre Dame, as I hear it, played a good Notre Dame style game. They are a good solid team with many players that play on the same club team. I look forward to watching them play next week. They never dissappoint, they train well, play hard and are not dirty players, they win by their skills and team work. CONGRATULATIONS GIRLS!!!!
  11. VERY WELL PUT, It is exactly that kind of player that is in demand by every college coach, national team, odp team etc... It is very common to be an ABOVE average player in High School Soccer, but when you succeed in the higher levels, then you are much more. I touched base with a parent from the Station Camp Team last nite, they told me that NIGRO had a great game, and was really the only player on the field that was still running and trying her hardest. She had great passes, beating defender after defender, and an amazing goal at the end, beating 3 defenders and the goal keeper. It seemed to them that a lot of the girls on LA was simply not in shape to play the next level. Which leads to how important running every day is. I know that if you want to play college, no matter what position, you have to be able to run a mile at 7, or you wont even be considered, I bet Nigro has her own work out she does everyday. I look forward to seeing Nigro play at the higher level games she is involved in. Sounds like we are all watching one of the next World Cup Player, or Olympic Player. Good luck to her she has a lot of fans already.
  12. The score was 4-2 I just got back to TN 2 days ago, just in time to make the trip to livingston especially to go watch Nigro play, what i was told would be their last game for this season. Even though i was wet, cold and hungry, I could not leave the field, I totally enjoyed watching this game. Nigro is remarkable, she won that game for her team, 3 goals. Her moves, her vision, her speed and her leadership is a pleasure to watch. Friendship Christian were not friendly or were they christians, I heard them call Nigro a B--ch more than once, how the refs did not hear them, I don't know. Besides that, the ref's did an exceptonal job with that game. There was also another livingston player #33, she was awesome, really played hard. I congratulated the Nigro girl after the game and was pleasantly surprised as to how polite and how down to earth she is. I asked her about her training and she mentioned a trainer called "AR". Well he is really doing something right, she is perfection. I head back to Memphis today, but I would haved loved to be able to watch Livingston play on Thursday. Good Luck
  13. Big Games 9/10 Farragut 5-1 Soddy-Daisy 9/11 Notre Dame 0-1 Baylor Knox Catholic 0-3 CAK FRA 3-0 CPA Ravenwood 1-3 Centennial I will be in Memphis this evening and staying for 13 days. Any suggestions on what games to watch? Thanks for your opinions, I appreciate them
  14. I am A BIG FAN of mjuhb. his opinions have really made me see some games and players differently. I must ask some questions, the list is compossed of the top players in the state, including club, HS, ODP ETC. Out of this list can you tell me who is most likely to succeed in soccer past High School ? Past College ? Past Club? Past ODP? Any predictions?
  15. I would like to see some more of the chattanooga teams play, any suggestions on upcoming tournament or best games to watch this week or next?
  16. Headed for the long drive East to watch Oakridge Tourney, stopped to watch Livingston play at York. I had to watch the Nigro girl play. Livingston's coach made some smart changes to the forwards, very much improved. Watched Nigro play, she did moves that I rarely see in High School soccer. She did them with perfection. Incredible player. The team has improved since I saw them play Cookeville. Smart Coach. The score of the game was 3-1, Livingston. The Oakridge Tourney was very interesting, Beech team was really very good. The team I went to watch was Collierville. They did great. All in All, it was a great weekend of soccer. The sportmanship on the field and at the sides were a pleasure. All the girls played well. Worth the long drive. I would like to see some games in Chattanooga, any suggestions?
  17. THANK You MJUHB, you have led me to many great games. Please continue with your rankings and predictions.
  18. EXCELLANT Game. Both teams played well. Improvements along the board .
  19. K. Nigro is the player, very surprised you have not heard, she has been in all the newspapers, even out in the middle by me, the only one from Tennessee to be chosen. EXCEPTIONAL Player, but her team is Livingston and is very weak, very slow forward, no defense. I hear they win district, but the district is even weaker than they are. Cookeville v Siegel 0-6 Cookeville v Riverdale 0-6 Those are my predictions
  20. Not on Cookeville, on Livingston team K Nigro
  21. The team will show considerable improvement, good coach. and good luck
  22. Columbia has shown improvement, they are working hard and its coming together
  23. I made the drive east to cookeville to see the scrimmage last night that cookeville was playing. Looks like cookeville has a weak team, nothing changed from last year, long ball. I do not see them in the top 30 at all. They were playing against a Livingston team that has very weak, very , very slow forward and looks like all new defense players by the way they played. I was very surprised to see the national player on midfield, she is an exceptional player. she made me glad I took the drive. I think cookeville will be at the very bottom
  24. I just read that Kat Nigro was chosen for the USSF National ID Camp in California. Will she around much to play HS, with being chosen for the Regional Team and most likely the U15 National Team ? Where is Livingston Academy? near Nashville? Look for Sam Turner, watched her play, she has speed and talent.
