The best thing CDHS, and all the other Greene county schools, could be doing is to start working on next year's whining and excuses. Because Willie graduates this spring. You will need to come up with some good stuff when GHS is just as good, if not better next year.

I don't know, but heard from a somewhat reliable source, the South player dehydrated and passed out. I hope that is all it is. Hats off to Greeneville for a big win against a very good opponent.

First of all, kudo's to a very good Daniel Boone football team and an exceptional game plan. I missed that call completely, but not out of a lack of respect to DB. They are a good football team, as is South. With that said, I am sticking to my guns and predicting Greeneville to break out offensively this week (They have to at some point). Greeneville's defense, I believe has proven itself to bend yet not break (11.67 ppg scored against). There are a lot of undefeated teams that can't boast that stat. However, as the D improves, so must the O. I went to the Chinese buffet last night and my fortune cookie says, Greeneville's D will find ways to limit South's attempts at long, time consuming drives, create a turnover or two, and the O will find ways to stay on the field longer. Greeneville 20-17 in a very exciting contest.

I would have to say this comment holds a lot of water. Speed is paramount today. Of course, coaches want fast players who are also strong, however if a D1 coach comes a callin' on a H.S. coach about a particular player, his first 3 questions are: What's his time in the 40? What kind of grades does he make? What does he do besides play football? Speed wins today's games. I don't know of many players turned down because of lack of strength, but there is a ceiling with respect to speed. There are D1 schools who won't even look at a player with a 40 of 5.1 or higher.

Well, they say the proof is in the pudding. I guess we will have to wait until Friday night to see who gets the pudding, but personally I believe Greeneville has already proven a few things. Early yet? Of course, but if anyone knows where a guy can get a wager on H.S. football, please let me know. Because I would bet the farm and the kids that DB won't come close to scoring 30 points Friday night and sooner or later Greeneville's offense will kick in. TNrecruiter, you're not showing any respect. Don't you know JC and Canefan are the authorities on h.s. football? If you want to know anything about it, just ask one of them, especially Canefan. I think he was a waterboy all four years of h.s. so he really knows a lot. You must show some respect.

No way to predict a score, but i see it this way. Mercer Cnty is coming off a state championship season and despite losing 22 players, they cant possibly be too bad a team. I say that because you dont win a state championship with your starters going every minute of every game all season long and besides they didnt lose 22 starters. I'm certain there's a group left that have plenty of playing time under their belt and a certain air of confidence from being a state champion. Greeneville will have their hands full, however, IMO, they will be in this game all the way and I predict a W for the Devils. I'm going to predict a W everytime they take the field this year. Will I be 100% correct? Probably not, but that's my right to my opinion and I'm willing to bet I'll end up way north of 50%. Since I will be out of town the rest of the week, I doubt I will post anymore on the subject, at least this week. I just wanted to get my 2 cents worth in so Canefan can start disagreeing and arguing with me. Hope its a great game and above all, I hope its injury free.
