    Trick Plays.

That play is legal. The rule does not say where you can take your lead. In this play, the runner on first gets his lead in right field. He goes about 40 feet into the outfield and stops. The fielders have to decide what to do with him. If they go after him, the run from third scores. If they pitch, he steals second. You definitely have to make sure the umpire knows the rules on this play. Some umpires still believe the baseline is between bases. It is from the spot that the player is in when a play begins to be made on him in a direct line to the base he is going.
  2. I believe there are several and many of them played on two teams, Jr. Toppers and FCA Tigers or Kingsport Select. Daniel Norris at Science Hill is showing he can pitch and hit. Kevin Connell at Boone is just starting to play. Will prove to be a good pitcher and hitter for Boone. Matthew Harmon for Sullivan Central is playing infield and pitching. All of these play for the Jr. Toppers. Nathan Milsap for DB is back from an injury. Great catcher and cannon for an arm. Ryan Lockhart is playing great for Sullivan South. Stephen Mullins at Tennessee High is a strong fielder and hitter. All of these and Connell from Boone play for the FCA Tigers. The travelling teams of Northeast Tennessee have helped develop some strong freshman who will be a force to deal with in the future. There are many others from these teams that are playing freshman or JV ball that will also be great in the future.

  4. Science Hill won by 14-15. But your boy Cradic did end his career with a reflection of the team, coach, and Cradic's own reputation. It is a shame that a great athlete like him had to play for a coach like that and might be remembered for ending his career with an intentional foul by attacking another player.
  5. How come the teams that are so successful in JV are not good in Varsity? The JV finals are Boone and South. Boone beat Volunteer by 25 or so and South beat East by 15-20. Boone has played everybody tough and blown out some of the better teams that are successful in varsity. South has done great since they brought down some of the older guys that are not getting varsity time. Just wondering what makes the difference and why DB and Science Hill do not compete as well in JV. This seems unusual. I know the better players at these are playing Varsity but why the big downfall in JV. Why does the JV players at Boone and South not get playing time on varsity when they play so well in JV. Especially the players at Boone. Some of them can shoot lights out from the three point line.
  6. If you were the ones sitting under the goal, it was because one of you was cussing a Boone player. I will give it to you that the Central cheer section was funny, but that may have been because several were drunk. Drunks are always funny to watch.

I agree. I think there will be several young arms that will make a difference. Those two teams will impact Northeast Tennessee this year. Norris at Science Hill will be a great left hander and may find some time in the outfield. Connell at Daniel Boone should find time on the mound as a lefty also and may find time at first or outfield. Millsap and Lockhart have great gloves and arms as catchers at DB and South. Don't know what is in front of them but they look good. There will be several at Crockett that should get some playing time as freshmen. The Jr. Toppers and the Select and now the FCA Tigers which several of them play for will help the teams in Northeast Tennessee.

Who has what? Are there any new young players that will make a difference?
  9. How can you say this is not cheap shots. I watched Cradic play at Boone in Trailblazer Classic and he may be the most dirty player I have seen this year in Big 9. He would undercut players on rebounds and throw elbows away from the ball. And when he got the ball at the foul line. He would always spin so that his extended elbow swung at the face of the guy guarding him. I have never seen this until I did not have a player or team involved and was watching individual players closer. To say it is okay to take out a guy who is dunking needs to get out of basketball. It is a part of basketball today. I think a player who takes out a free layup or dunk should be ejected. That is just dirty play. I understand hard play but you are just qualifying what has been said earlier about Volunteer being dirty. For Whit to make the statement of giving up free layups is dirty coaching. How would you like it for someone to TAKE OUT your kid when he is making a layup. I noticed in the Boone classic that players were looking behind them when making layups against Volunteer. But I do not think volunteer is the only dirty team. Against Boone they were real clean but their JV was dirty I hear. The ultimate problem in Northeast Tennessee is that the officials don't call it when they see it. If they would start ejecting for the elbows and undercutting they would solve the problem. So as long as you can get by with it it will continue.
  10. What is it going to take for Boone to get where they need to be? They have shown flashes of being able to play but no one but Moncier has been consistent.
  11. Sorry to talk about your son that way. Again, he is a great player but he is not a heisman trophy winner. We need to stop making these kids out to be something they are not. He is a 15 year old kid who has been given great ability. He has a long way to go to get to where he needs to be.
  12. Go ask the Boone 9th Grade. They sent him to the locker room at halftime CRYING and holding his shoulder. He came back in the 4th and they sent him off the field again. He is good but he is not great right now. I know the safety for Boone's 9th grade lit him up about 4 times that night. Don't make him out to be something he is not. He quit on his team that night.
  13. Chris should be a great athlete but has a long way to go. He took his shoulder pads off in the Boone 9th grade game and sat out most of the third quarter. He then put them back in and ran the ball twice but started limping after getting stuffed pretty good. He will be a great player but needs to toughen up.
  14. I tried to tell you guys back in August that Daniel Sharp would not get it done for you. He is a great kid but is not the great qb that he is trying to be made into. I also told you that Daniel Norris was a great athlete that should be given a chance. He was not even brought to workouts this summer with the varsity. He may make mistakes as a freshman, but his athleticism would make some plays that the others couldn't dream of.
  15. You barely beat Boone and your almighty Sensabaugh went out crying two times. At halftime, he took his shoulder pads off and sat out. Then again in the fourth quarter came back and limped around for 5 minutes. Boone should have beat you so don't talk about the almight Indians.
  16. 2 weeks ago everyone on the Hill got mad when I said he couldn't get it done at Boone last year and wouldn't get it done at the Hill. He is a good kid but can not run and can not throw effectively. He needs to go back to baseball where his strength is. Have a great season. I know they don't want him back at Boone. Again, Norris will be the QB of the future. Give him a chance now.
  17. Science Hill's best quarterback is not even on the field. The wrong Daniel is playing QB. Sharp will not get it done. He didn't at Boone last year and won't at SH. The best Daniel is the freshman Norris. He is the real deal. If SH wants to compete, Norris needs to be given a chance. He has the legs and arm.
