  1. I highly doubt Larue will make 103 this year. Look for him at 112 or even a possible 119 if he continues to grow in the weight room.

    Sleepers

Somebody that may surprise a bunch of people this year is Micah Bolden from knoxville halls. He tore his acl last year in football and was unable to compete last year. I saw him at a tournament last weekend and was competing well with very good competition from Georgia. He will probably wrestle 160 next year and expect him to be a real contender to win state this year.
  5. Congrats to both guys! Beastin, Gunter finished 5th at 152 this year. This was his first year to even qualify for state and made quite a run after upseting Travis Leonard of Cleveland in the very first round and went all the way to the semi's where he lost to the state champion from Overton.
  6. My vote for best QB would be the Stone kid from Clinton
  7. The defense you run all depends on the kids you have.
  8. I See the 4 play off teams being -Maryville (dont know what they will be like, but hey its maryville, they will be good!) -Halls (has too much talent to not win) -Clinton (played very well at the end of the season last year, look for that to carry over to this year) -South Doyle (my wild-card team, return a lot of big men that can move!)
  9. This will be our year. The Sophomore Class is talented at some spots buy may not see the field much other then special teams b/c of the majurity of their bodies. The Junior class, which may have the most god-given talent of the team, will have several guys find their way into the starting line-up for friday nights. But most spots this year will be filled by seniors. These guys are very talented and are defiantly the hardest working group to go through the program in years. These guys are work-a-holics and are addicted to the weight room. If the Juniors and Sophomores follow their lead we have a very good chance of playing 15 ball games this year. here are some more possible starters this year: FB: John Case (5'10" 195) *great athelete and needs to be on the field somewhere RB: Chris Mcgill (5'9" 175) *had several good runs last year to give kitts a break WR/DB: Jeff Noblin (6'0" 170) *great athelete who should be given some looks this year RB/DL: Ryan Pixley (5'9" 160) *the teams wild man. Probably is the toughest kid pound for pound on the team DL: Brad Stenkie (6'0 190) *Has the skill to play, Also may see some time at tight end. *** Also look out for "hall way" recruit Zach Zibowski. (6'4" 185) Outstanding athelete that may see some playing time at WR or DB
  10. "I don't call it competing, what I do is called winning"
  11. Losing what? These aren't duals. Yes I know you should cheer for your wrestlers when they are about to win, who doesnt do that? But I don't belive it is right to go crazy like that when a kid loses. They weren't cheering b/c the MBA, or CBHS, or any other school won, they were cheering b/c the baylor kid lost. It is very hard for a kid to handle losing a state championship, nobody want to be 2nd best. But then to see what is supposed to be a neutral team celebrating your loss, that just makes it harder. and I don't think anyone that does so realizes what they are doing, well at least I hope not. Any person that would rub-it-in a 14-18 year old kid's face after just losing such an important match must not have very high morals. once again, just my opionion.
  12. I belive that the baylor fans are first rate. Ive only been around high school wrestling for a short while but I've noticed that at the end of every match, win or lose, their entire fan section stands and appluads all of their wrestlers. Also I found it to be tacky that the Father Ryan section went crazy everytime a Baylor wrestler lost, or went to his back during the finals. Yes I know it was through their competitive nature, but i belive going that far was just rude. Just my opionion though.
  13. Region II placers 03 = 5th Maxwell (karns) 6th Larue (halls) 12= 3rd Sluder (greenback) 6th Hall (symour) 19= 2nd Harless (karns) 3rd Miller (greenback) 25= 4th Long (greenback) 30= nobody 35= nobody 40= 3rd Ridenour (maryville) 4th Burns (william blount) 45= 4th Burchett (greenback) 52= 5th Gunter (halls) 60= 2nd Shields (pigeon forge) 71= nobody 89= nobody 215= nobody HWT= 5th Leonard (halls) overall: 13 placers thats almost 1 each weight class average. not a bad year. not great either. overall id say about average.
  14. I too have already tried looking for it haha
  15. You def. need to add matt ladish from halls to the list @ 215. He is a tough kid and only a 2nd year wrestler. He beat the CAK kid in duals and gave Cantwell from maryville a good match at region duals. He is only a junior and may possible be able to compete for the state yext year as a senior.
  16. 189 is WIDE open after miller from greenback
  17. Coach since no one has informed u yet brett shilds from pigeon forge told me personally that he is staying at 160 for the season.
  18. will someone post the complete results of this tournament?
  19. I agree. I havent seen him much, but he impressed me when I saw him at bradley.
  20. Kenwood kid, or Brentwood Academy
  21. where can i find the seedings for this tournament?
  22. Pound for Pound.... the hardest hitting kid i kno is Ryan Pixley from Knox Halls. He played mostly special teams, being an under-classman and everything but also saw regular playing time at on the d-line. He played nose-guard during the fall, and during the winter he wrestles at the 145 pound weight class. He also saw some action at d tackle... how he was able to do it I have no idea. Find nth, he'll tell ya all about it /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  23. mba?? best league??? who else is in that league?
  24. First off, let me start by saying I am not a maryville football fan. Just to get that out of the way. But now anyways, I have never seen south play, but even if i have, i dont see them winning this one. now dont get me wrong, Im not one of these guys saying "oh they dont have a chance in h***" im just saying for them to win they will have to have the game of their lives and a little bit of luck along with it. The people saying maryville is a machine and can not be stopped are not the maryville fans, but maryville "victims" lol. People dont seem to realize that maryville plays in what many consider to be the toughest region in the state. Maryville goes into games every week against tough teams thinking, better yet, knowing that they are gonna pull off the upset. But maryville still finds a way to win. Saying Maryville is machine is not referring to the program itself, but the players that make it up. All 11 maryville players on the field are animals that will stop at nothing to win, they all know to play assignment football and to play 11 guys flying around to the ball football too. and for any of you guys that think your QB will run all over Maryville, you obviously dont realize who u r playing. If 1 player seperates himself in performance from the rest of his team, you dont have a chance, itll have to be an 11 man struggle.
  25. Are Croy and Wolfe both going to stay at 89?? Does anybody know for sure? If not then i predict one of them to win it at 189 and the other to win it at 215. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
