  1. Have heard from some Dekalb people that Dekalb is pretty good this year. They always seem to have speed and some good outside shooters. G_men haven't really seemed to put it all together yet. Hopefully they will soon! Probably gonna have to pick Dekalb in this early season contest...
  2. Yea it was back and forth for most of the first half then sometime in the 3rd Gville turned up the dee and hit on alot of fast break layups. Hit some 3's during that scoring span also...Go to Goodpasture Thur.. we'll see?????
  3. Point well taken but don't be down about posting YOU have a right to defend your coaches and your beliefs on any matter... I don't assume it's true but I have seen some not so appropriate behavior out of lots of coaches, yours and mine included. And now about the game.... Have a safe drive to South Pitt I wish yall an injury free game!
  4. Coaches are humans too... Sometimes we as adults get too caught up with emotion we may say or do some things we shouldn't and are sorry later HOWEVER no one is perfect including FCS coaches so don't be so quick to say IT JUST WASN'T said... I have witnessed some NOT So Mature actions by plenty of coaches in the past INCLUDING coaches form Friendship. No one is perfect hate to disappoint you...
  5. York plays at Gordonsville today at 2:30 or 4:30?????
  6. No not just you - no speed - If teams broke it around the end they were gone... nobody to catch them
  7. No she didn't quit till season was over then she decided mot to play basketball her senior year. They have Watson Grisham, Smith, and Maynard that are all Seniors and will maybe start. Not ever sure with Coach Agee?? There are I think 3 jrs on the team.
  8. Gonna be a long drive to South Pitt and an even longer ride home 2nd week of playoffs for the commanders....
  9. Didn't Celina beat Monterey pretty handily? Gville barely squeeked out of Monterey with a win??? Gonna be tuff to beat the bulldawgs at home...
  10. Henry had his jaw wired shut Friday but he did get to leave Vanderbilt hospital on Sunday. He will be sorely missed this week and the weeks to follow on the football field and possibly the basketball court. Go Tigers Play hard- don't quit!!
  11. Henry Whigham was one of the players injured in the wreck- broken collar bone and cut up chest. I understand all 5 were thrown from the car and lucky to be alive. He is in Vanderbilt Trama unit. One girl Britney Smith has leg injuries and is being operated on this morning. The other 2 girls and football player Josh Sapp are ok after spending some of the night at the hospital themselves. I believe I was told Whigham also has a broken jaw. Please keep these young people in your prayers.
  12. No Gville travels to MtJuliet Christian this week I sthis game at Watercity or Pirtle field?
  13. The responses that I have provided were in regards to the numerous post about the current players, with the exception of a few, that have been at FC during the onset of their schooling. A majority of my responses have been directed at the fact that many of the current players were enrolled at various other schools while they played on FC??™s youth sporting teams. This in my opinion is where many of you guys contradict yourselves. It is also of my opinion this is a way that FC solicits their school (business) to the potential customers. There has been much research at the college level that suggest mere enrolling in a school will not assure you a college degree, but if the college can get you to stay at least for a given amount of time your chances of obtaining the degree becomes significantly better. Thus, by merely joining the team and staying during one or more seasons as a non-enrolled student significantly increases the chance that the student will enroll at the school. Is this illegal by terms of TSSAA? Probably not. But it does provide FC with a valuable marketing tool that many outside the program question.
  14. The fact that several of your coaches had sons playing on those teams while enrolled at different schools. Not to mention the kid from East Wilson County attended his public school while playing for the team. And these guys are just Freshmen. Bet you can check your sophomores and juniors and find a few as well. Not knocking your program, but the fact remains they were not enrolled at the school while playing on the FC 6th grade teams.
  15. There are several current varsity starters, not an FC student at the time, that did play on those teams. Fact. But overall your total post is worth merit.
  16. This is easy to figure out: They play rec or city ball together with their average good people friends until they enroll at the school. Was this the case? I don't think so. I don't know that recruiting is the appropriate word choice, but the fact that a large majority of the "impact" kids on those young FC teams were not enrolled at the time somehow still played for the team.
  17. Put a roster up and the truth will come out. You can't deny the facts. I bet it would be easier to list the non-FCS students at that time that were on that team that ended up at a different school than it would be to list the ones that enrolled after becoming a part of that team.
  18. NO Thanks I have been to plenty of your games and I can hardly tolerate the essence of good sportsmanship that oozes from the players, coaches (for tolerating the behavior), and the fans ...PLEASE U missed the point anyway- all those 5-6th graders that played together DID NOT just decide on their own accord to go to your school. There was plenty of coaxing going on and promises made.
  19. No it's NOT free that's the point... Someone is paying tuition or OVERLOOKING it????
  20. Not to mention that more than 50% of the team at that time were students at one of the Wilson County and nearby Schools. They were not students at FCS at that point, but funny most of them are now!!!
  21. 39 to 6 with 2 minutes left was last heard
  22. Gordonsville has some growing pains to experience this year TRUE... Only 4 seniors hurts, tigers are both young and lack real game time experience. With that being said Tigers will be up for Friday night AS ALWAYS! Kudos to the young men that have stuck it out all summer, worked hard and take great pride in wearing the Tiger Blue!
