I agree with a lot of what you say Comp, but trust me, the dicipline is there as far as the students go, they dont have a choice in matters of their apparel however. And the numbers have gone up actually. In fact, in the past 5 years they have almost tripled.

Rebelrebelman, as a recent south band graduate, I can confirm that yes....most (nearly all) band parents act like that, its just how they are and you have to learn to accept it and just keep cheering the team.

I think all 3 teams have a shot, but then again, it is Maryville. I don't know anything about Rhea Co, so sorry I dont say much about you. Greeneville, I saw play South earlier in the year, with Greenway. They dont have him anymore, plus they have Barner now. So I really cant say anything about them either. BUT, what I can say is South is a very good team again this year, and IF they are fortunate enough to win this Friday, and so does Maryville, I think it will be a close game between the two. Last year in the semis, it was anybodys game for the first half. I think South is better this year than that first half team from the semis last year, but like I said, it's Maryville.

Except next year its 5A and not 4A. Which, in my biased eyes, is a very good thing.

As for 3 final four appearances in 10 years, well..South has had 1, they might have another this year if they do their jobs right. Give coach Carter some time. That does sound nice, but I dunno. Even though the Indians dont do the whole playoff thing, during the regular season they are great. Tn High didnt get the job done this year, or science hill. In my opinion, South could have beaten them this year, but we will never know for sure, they havent beaten them since the early nineties. I just dont see any teams next year beating them in conference play. Might be a few very close games, but I dunno.

You don't KNOW anything, except how to spew your own opinion out there and state it is a fact. There is no way of knowing how this years South team would stack up against a team from another year. Thats why it is 2008, and not '06, or '05.

I dont think South will kill East until the end of the 3rd and the 4th quarter. No, I havent seen East play this year, but I have seen all of Souths games and for the most part, they are just much better conditioned than the other teams. They dont run out of gas. Also, South just has SO MANY weapons, I dont know how you can stop ALL of them. Yes, you may stop Fletcher, and KK, and maybe even Bradley. But then the others step up and you are right back where you started, you have no answer for everyone. Like I said, I think this will be a close game until late, East may even lead for a while. But eventually the machine will outlast the animal, and south will prevail. Good luck to everyone though, you guys are always tough.
