I cannot believe Hall from Greeneville did not make the kicker finalist??????

After reading all the post about how things were on TV I had to watch to see if there was things I was not able to see at the game. WOW What I did see was TV had very little of what was going on. Like our wide recievers being held and even tackled( but no call), our QB and Kicker being hit late (no call), #51 walking into our huddle at least twice. I really blame the refs for not keeping this game under control. If ejections had taken place early in the game, it all would have stopped. If Devils are acting up toss them also. But Trezevants players had no reason (other than self respect and sportsmanship) to not act this way. There were no conquences for bad behavior. Coaches and officals need to pay the cost, I'm thru sorry for the rant. I am sure this does not reflect how Memphis or the entire school acts.

I did also, I was sitting on the 30 yrd line on the end of the field both teams came in on. Greeneville's O was warming up when they came on the field. Instead of (mot the whole team) but probably a third walked rignt up agianst our team. They had 40 yards to walk to the other side but choose to crowd our team. I didnt have anyone playing this year or last but attended both games. I told by wife I was afraid our team would get in trouble in response to all the bad behavior of the other team. It is the worse control of a game I have ever witnessed. I am 55 and have attended a lot of games over the years, including when I was in high school. This was the worse. Granted there were only a few but the coaches should have yanked them. I am proud of the restraint our team and fans used.

UT COACH ???? Is that a club team or a div 1 team?? paid or volunteer coach??? Maybe no threat just a conflict of coaching style, was his intrest in what his son did or how the team performed? And speaking of EGO has coach foreman or his wife on here running down anyone?

The diffrence is pride of being part of a winning team. When a team has a chance to advance young and old want to be part of that team. Whether is sitting on the bench or in the stands, everyone is proud to be associated with them. I sat for years and watched Greeneville Soccer, Baseball and Wrestling teams be beaten by schools 3 and 4 times there size. When the pool of students is that big it is hard to compete. As for Greeneville this is the best thing to happen in a long time. Now we have the chance to be like Maryville and Alcoa. And have a winning tradition. Students start in the early grades wanting to be part of the high school teams and work on staying in school and making good grades. Because it is required to be part of that winning team. Back to my cave I have no students in school now. But I still have that DEVIL Pride.

Looking at their school webpage, it seems this school has a dress code (uniform requirment). I guess what I am saying is they may be use to a strict dicipline in school, web and most of all on the field. We can not over look them or become too confident. I am not ready for Wrestling and Basketball yet. Go Greene Devils.

When I told Charlie that Hollowell was at WG, The first thing he said was " I bet you could see his influence on the mat couldn't you". And he was right, no slam on anybody else but after setting in the stands and watching this mans influence on our team and young men. It is not hard to see it coming out in the WG team. We are proud of you coach. But it was kinda hard to see you in that blue and yellow!!!!

Man I hate I missed this match, I see that there is a match scheduled at Carson Newman on 12/4 with King . Can you tell me a time and is it just King? Hey Caleb did Joel wrestle this weekend and at what weight. Sorrry for many questions. I have either been at a football field or on a mat it seems like most of my life and I am having withdrawl. Congrats Caleb, Frankie and all our locals.

I guess what amazes me is that some people seem to think that this is a move for a free pass to a state title. If you look at the #s we are the 22 largest school in 1 aa with 892 students. The largest has 1065. If we played up in foot ball that puts us playing schools with a lot larger population that us. This no longer just affects football but all sports. That would move us up to playing Dobyns Bennett 1942 and Science Hill with 2158 during the regular season. I just dont think that would make a lot of sense for us.

You know when Barner got hurt everyone said (including me) what are we going to do. What happened just like last year when there was adversity. People stepped up, Soph running back, Freshman kicker. Poor little skinny D line, lol. They all stepped up. That what players who are good leaders and coaches that are the same make a difference. I am very proud of the Greene Devils. Back to Back Champions. Says it all.

Please dont mistake this as being rude or mean. but his thread is about Greeneville & Crockett. I dont think any of us would want our life as young people put on display. Most of us made decisions that we wish we had not made. Go Devils

I know Joel and Charlie both broke the 150 mark but both sat out the first half of their senior season rehabing football injuries. I already miss this. I am so glad that Greeneville will be wrestling at Small School in the future. This is long over due. It has been a long time since Memphis, right NOF?

I feel like as long as the coaching staff is allowed to continue coaching as they are now and include some tough teams in the schedule they will go far. The wrestling team for the past three years has gone to state championship (in Large School Div) as the smallest school there. I mean like 835 to 1450 being the next smallest. They have finished decent. But never a threat to win. Where in the small school div they have defeated most of the teams competing at state. Probably would have won or finished secound at the least. Where is the fairness in this. Just a couple of years ago a local girls soccer team advanced to the quarter final in state. Our girls had destroyed them twice. We need to continue with our same program. Don't cut the staff and budget because we are now playing where we should. You will see a increase of students taking part. And a growth in all sports. I may be wrong but I guess we will have to see.

I think this is a good move for Greeneville. I believe if we had been playing in our classifiaction the past few years, we would have placed well if not won some state titiles. Escpecially in Girls & Boys soccer, Baseball & Wrestling. When we start contending past regionals there will be a increase in student coming out for teams. Also a increase in community support. Everyone wants to be part off or associated with a winning team. So many times Maryville has been used as a example of what Greeneville needs to strive to be like. This is a step that way. I believe they have played their classification and grown great teams.

I am not sure of the type but it does have the rubber pellets, It has been outlined for soccer, they were practicing on it this week, Jr high has played there home games there in the past I dont see that changing. A lot of money and support came in from the community. not sure if all of it did or not. We are very proud.

Just got a email back from Senator Hawk of Greene County. He advises that he and several other Senators are working with Senator Bunch on making changes in this bill. They all feel it was way to extreme. Please contact your elected officals. It will make a difference. They all assume if no one complains everything is cool.

Any new info on this matter?

When the state offical came to Greeneville to explain how these new rules would affect the booster. I was not able to attend a mid day conference. Another sport booster did. Her boss (her husband) was a lot more understanding than my boss (my wife)that this was the time it was most convienient to most boosters (sarcasm). Now that I have that out of my system. This is a few points that she came away with. The state does not want any school employee to handle or control booster money. With the exception of the school bookkeeper. As if they need more work to do. They want the money to be accouted for in triplecate. example Sally takes up the money at the gate, She counts it signs off and gives it to Mary. Mary counts it signs off and turns it over to Jean. Jean counts it and signs off and turns it over to the bookkeeper. Who makes sure Sally, Mary and Jean can count. I am not sure about some of these because the other thing was that all booster checks should have 2 signatures. Every thing should be bought with a check. No cash tranactions. When I go to Sams Wholesale to buy for our concession stand they will not accept a check from the school since the school is not a member. Pizza delivery people do not like to take checks. I can go on and on. But will try and stop. Now I understand that there are people out there who would steal from a club. They are far and few. But it is very obvious to me that the people who made these rules have not been very envolved with a booster club. Everyone knows how hard it is to get workers. If you break their back with paperwork and act like you dont trust them, forget it. Think of how this will play out when a coach needs 20.00 meal money for each team members. He better come back with recipts that match. Like he does not have anything else to do. Get in touch with your state senator and ask for some help on this issue. We have found out in the past the the the squeaky wheel gets the oil. Our school officals can not help us on this, all I have spoke to do not like it. With out the support of all their booster it would be tough to run the programs. Make a phone call, send a email, make a difference.

Boy this will be a busy weekend, it will be hard to decide which tourney to go watch. Soddy, GIT or Fandetti Brawl!!!!
