  1. I can assure you when Oneida and Scott High line up to play each other in sports this spring: baseball, softball, and boys soccer, there will be no "problems" whatsoever from the parents, coaches, or players regardless of who wins the given contest. So...if you want to see the "battle of Scott County" just come out and watch the two times the baseball and softball teams square-off or the one time the two soccer squards face-off. On top of that, I believe that if you are in the business of track and field this spring, the athletes from the two schools will compete together as the Indian athletes will make the trek south. If you must get a fix for the two schools going at it "peacefully" in the fall go watch the two girls' soccer programs face off. If you must see how well the student-athletes can work together, just go watch the Oneida golf team play, due to the fact SHS students who wish to play golf must make the journey north. Cross Country may (or may not) fall into this category--not sure if any OHS students go south or not?? So....I said all that to say this: It isn't like the two schools "never" square off my friends!!
  2. HighVoltage, Do I know you?? At one point, I had a "small" hand in coaching (or teaching) a few of those Lady Mavs during their middle school tenure at Norris--outstanding student-athletes such as Ashley Worthington, Blair Ellis, Casey Young, Casey Kite, and Whitney Elliott, among others. Coach Stiltner
  3. Congrats to Coach Ellis and his HERD of Lady Mavericks on their victory tonight in the CAGE. I hear from a reliable source that the Lady Cats had a chance to tie (or even take the lead) with around 6 ticks to go, but.... Ladies I am looking very forward to getting out to watch you all play when you come north!! Coach Stiltner
  4. I know this much: Rome wasn't built in a day and neither are good basketball programs. Knowing Coach Marcum and his work ethic, I'm sure he is going to be Roman like in re-building this program. Hang in there and and stay the course folks!!
  5. If I am not mistaken, I heard Smith's name on WECO last night as playing?? Is this correct or did I hear things?
  6. bballmom, I really didn't mean anything in a disrespectful way: my two favorite coaches and favorite player have moved on to greener pastures and the Lady Indians are my "kids" if ya know what I mean!! I have nothing by the utmost respect for Ronnie---he taught us a lot about life along with being a good coach--too bad some wayward parents got the best of that situation, I wish Jessie nothing but the best at ETSU, for she is my fav Lady Cat of all-time. If I have one regret, which I have shared with Ronnie, is that I didn't stay gone when I left with him that fateful afternoon. As for Sam, am I disappointed he is not roaming the sideline because of some backwards politics?? Yes, but at the same time I wish the current Lady Cats and staff nothing but the best in ALL but 4 (and at the most 6) games this season..when they play my kids, both at Anderson County and Oneida. Coach Stiltner
  7. Wow---this thread is HEATED up my friends!! Being from OZ and now teaching at Oneida--let me see here: I can assure everyone out there that both teams are capable of coming away with the 'W' tonight. I could go on and on. However, after reading the first 25 posts or so I'll spare the majority!! As to who I want to see win tonight: Ronnie Hackworth or Sam Bilyeu aren't coaching and Jesse ain't playing, so....figure it out!!
  8. Got that date circled on the calendar, as well as, the trip to up to Indian land toward the end of the season!!
  9. I believe the TWO toughest districts in 1A are Districts 7 & 4 with the likes of Jackson Co, Clarkrange, Clay County, Monterey, Pickett Co, Red Boiling Springs, Hermitage Springs & Oliver Springs, Oneida, Coalfield, Wartburg, Oakdale, Sunbright. District 14 isn't bad either with the likes of Peabody, Bradford, Dresdon, Gleason, etc.
  10. I remember back a few years ago when Sunbright was 10-0 preparing for a Chattanooga area opponent when BAM--on the Wednesday afternoon before the game, all of a sudden, the Tigers have to start getting ready for another opponent. I can't remember all of the details but I believe South Pitt and Lookout Valley or Whitwell were the teams involved. So.....
  11. First off, I want to say congrats to both teams on a hard fought contest. Win, lose, or draw, I "truly" enjoyed seeing (or watching) a few of the guys (via Ch. 4 replay) I was afforded the opportunity to coach, play!! I still don't exactly know ALL of the guys I was watching in blue, but..I do know it was good to see #2 Rogers--Fr, #4 Farmer, #5 Henson, #7 Longmire--Fr, and #23 Irwin--Fr get some action. I tried calling a friend to get some names GT, but....the call went straight to voice mail. I'm sure there are others, but...I just didn't catch the names. I also hated to see #11 Coleman in an armsling--your in my prayers, brother!! Also, I know I may have coached the following guys on the hardwood, it was also nice to see them perform well....#9 Zane Rogers, #16 Colson, #15 Owens, and #26 Pack. I'm sure I have left some out--SORRY!! Best of luck to both teams on their upcoming contests!!
  12. Does the region look like this: 1. Catholic 4-1 @ Scott High 2. AE 4-1 against Kingston 3. Fulton 3-2 vs. Livingston 4. Livingston 3-2 @ Fulton 5. Anderson County 3-3 6. Kingston 1-4 against AE 7. Scott High 0-5 vs. Catholic ??
  13. For the record, it is very easy to "have more than one account" on CoachT. I mean all you have to have is two e-mail accounts, so...I believe "everyone" is frustrated a bit at this point, but....ALL I ask is that no one give up on this current season--we still have Greenback left to play. I mean it would be nice to see the continued support from players, coaches, students, parents, and fans this Friday night. Unlike some people, I don't have to get on the internet and hide behind a screen name. If I have something to say, I'll gladly say it to your face or I'll simply sign my name. So....ALL I am simply guilty of is standing up for my players (Zach). Caleb, if indeed, you are not franchise01: "I can truly feel your pain (and will personally apoligize) because several people I talked with Thursday & Friday are convinced it is you." BTW, you, Torrey, and the other three did (if my source is correct) a good job on Josh Slaven's yard. Coach Stiltner
  14. I'll tell you what I'm tired of doing: reading post after post by the Laxton brothers (Caleb & Austin) cracking on their fellow classmates. I probably shouldn't call out the ??? (I'm giving Austin a reprieve) or thefranchise01 (aka Caleb), but... I'm tired of ALL of the low blows. Instead of giving your classmates down the road, why don't you try being a teammate. Oh, that's right...Caleb, you tried that and it didn't work out!!

  16. North Anderson isn't as bad as their indicates having lost by mere TDs to SMMS (8-0) and Horace-Maynard (28-22 OT) while only falling by two 2 TDs to Jefferson. Their victory against LaFollette was by a very, very wide margin.
  17. SIR-goings-ville I remember the 1st time I tried to pronounce it
  18. In the small school division North 1. Oneida 2. Huntsville 3. Robbins 4. Fairview South 1. CAK In the large school division East 1. Jacksboro 2. SMMS / Horace-Maynard 3. SMMS / Horace-Maynard 4. North Anderson West 1. Clinton Any other information would be helpful.
  19. I know that Clinton beat North Anderson 36-14 and will face off in a rematch of the West #1 versus the East #4
  20. Lake City High Lakers and Norris High Senators combined to form the Anderson County Mavericks Huntsville Bears and Norma ??? combined to form the Scott High Highlanders
