marion has been a wrekin crue of a force in the past... from the sound of this years team they are headed back to the state. who thinks they have a shot this season. played against marion in the clinic bowl in 94. alot of theyr fans feel they are going to the bowl this season. they aint sceered of alcoie from the sound of the folks i talked to.

i didnt know there was a hooters fan in alcoa other than maybe a fan of the restaurant hooters. we have never played alcoa that i know of.

i dont keep up with many 2a teams but i did here dc lost a lot of good players from that deep playoff run from last year. some were college prospects he said. as for the billfolds them calls that night had to have been bought and paid for and ill stand beside everfan who got theirs out and waved it.

i work with a big sc hooter fan that thinks sc will be down several notches this year. talked to him this mourning and he said he thought the scrimmage didnt go like they though it would the other day. couple of surprises but all in all he was disappointed. livinston was always tough when we played um. they should beat sc this year cause its time they have a good season. much like portland.

Some of us realized that his brand of football is what it takes to win championships. The discipline that he enforced was nessesary in order to get to a state championship calliber team status. Others will never change there minds about how they think a football coach should act. This, I fear is what could keep portland down in years to come.

I look for coach perry to have the bears growlin loud friday night and come out of this one with a big upset. Mt. juliet by 3 is my prediction.

This postman cat does sound like every other westmoreland fan I'v ever been around but he does have a point about the refs and smith county. I played smith county in the hole during my days at portland and i remember the game when we were cheated by the refs very well. They get some good cookin over there thats 4sure. Postman mentioned the billfole insident. I remember it well.

Don't understand the loco wooly comment. Maybe it goes over my head. I was just reading where you would compare your varsity highschool football team to your middle school program. Hope this is just your way of firing your team up. I played against some Westmoreland teams in the past that were very good. I also knew some of the players personally and dont think they would put their former teammates down like you just did unless they were trying a major fire up job. I hope the eagles get back on track this week. I'm always supportive of the Sumner Co. schools except for White House.

Which team was the best Portland team? Some would argue that the best Portland team wasnt the championship team. I think the 95-96 team would have a good argument myself. Portland posters, where are you?

He also left a state championship trophy in the case and a couple of trips to the championship game that had never happen before he got there. I was very close to the program in those days and they were a force to be reckoned with. Perry is not liked bymany in Portland but it is because of the wrong reasons. Rules are rules, if you want to have a good football team you live by them. Perry is a football coach, not an appeaser. He wants to win championships and not win the hearts of the mom's and pop's of the community. I'd like to see the Purple machine pull this one out but highly unlikely.
