Word on the street is that Richardson from Ensworth is going to Pearl Cohn. I could see them beating any team in the west.

Congrats to the bobcats on a great year. I think GB is a good team, I don't think they matchup well with GP. You have to be able to throw it around to beat GP. White House and Macon were able to put up some points. I say it will be similar to DL game. 28-6 GP.
-
The cougars should win this one going away. The question is will they. Goodpasture has not exactly had the killer instinct this year. If Sycamore doesn't have a passing attack GP will shut them down.
-
CPA would be a tough draw for anyone in the first round, as would Tyner.
-
I would be very suprised if WH could hang with Springfield. But if Springfield starts turning it over like they have done several times this year, anything could happen. Springfield 20-7.
-
Great win for the cougars last night. That was definatly the most atheletes gp has seen all year. I think the defense has turned a corner. Still gave up some passing yards, but overall held them in check. I think facing this McGavock team will pay off in the playoffs.

This was a week of heartbreak if you route for the Devils, the Vols, and the Titans.

Bottom line...Lipscomb wanted it more. I think Lipscomb is hitting their stride after a rough start. GP is a good team, but they needed this wake up call. Teams aren't just going to lay down. I would like to see more mental toughness from GP defense, or they may not make it as deep in the playoffs as they want to (York).

Grundy County at Goodpasture (1st Round of playoffs)
DANR replied to GOODPASTURE's topic in Class 3A & Class 4A
No disrespect to GC but Goodpasture should take this one. I have a little conspiracy theory for the GP fans to chew. I think GP is going to really open up the passing game this post season. When you think Goodpasture you think run, run, run. I'm sure they will, but I think they have not shown their entire passing attack in the last few games, to set teams up. This staff has shown more willingness to try different things, such as changing defences against Lipscomb. DL thought they knew what GP would do, and GP totally caught them off guard. I think the same is going to happen in the playoffs. Teams are expecting GP to run the ball down their throats, but I think they are going to try to open it up. I don't think they have the speed to get to the edge or pound the middle against Pearl, Milan, ect. Just a thought. -
I can't remember the last time Lipscomb has lost this badly.

I never said Goodpasture wasn't good. I just think this team is not as good as the last three years, particularly the last two. When I say the teams they played in the playoffs are not that good. Its all relative. Of course the are good teams to make it to the playoffs, there are many that did not. For instance I don't think any team they have played in the playoffs this year are as strong as last years Camden team. Or CPA in first round last year. They are coming together at the right time. I just don't think they have the horses this year. The defense is not nearly as strong, and they are much more one demensional on offense. They are a good team, but you cannot tell me that CPA is as good this year as the last two. Any CPA fans like to chime in. This is the "rebuilding year", and they are in the final four, thats great. I love Goodpasture, its my alma mater, in my it will be a major upset if they win on Friday.
-
I am a Goodpasture fan, but I think this is going to be a tough one for Goodpasture to win. They are very young, and have done well to get this far. The teams they have faced this far in the playoffs have not been that good. Lewis was a pretty good team and so was CPA, but I think the CPA teams of the last two years were much better. I also believe the Goodpasture teams of the last three years were better than this years team. However, they are peaking at the right time. Like many have said, Cunningham is the X factor. If he is has a good night, it could be close. If Milan stops him, it will be a long night. Does anyone know if Hamrick will be back for GP? His presence was missed on both sides of the ball.
-
This is laughable. Gp played 3 5A teams, the 3A state champion, and a Div II team. How can that be an easier schedule than a couple of middle of the road 1A teams, and a lot of below average 2A teams.
-
Thats cause they play stewert county.
-
I can't believe anyone has started this one yet. I know nothing about big mac this year. Goodpasture has a freshman quarterback who is going to be a stud, and a Mr. Football finalist returning. What do ya think.
-
I was actually impressed with Ravenwoods D. They had some playmakers. I don't see anyone in region 5 holding them to less yards or points. I can't wait till the freshman qback comes into his own. He is gonna be terrific. Can anyone give us a scouting report on DCA or CPA. I know they have some fresh faces as well.
-
I doubt an apology will happen, because the very same umpire was behind the plate for the championship game today.
-
What's wrong with Lehning?
-
I was refering to rowdyone's comment. That the umps were clueless, we can agree. The homeplate ump had a tiny strike zone, and Marion was very patient at the plate. That almost won them the game.
-
This should be a great one. Two bigtime rivals with the utmost respect for each other. I think this will come down to pitching. Goodpasture used 4 pitchers against Marion County, Adkins has a broken hand. It's anybody's guess. Who will Lipscomb use?
-
First off to say Goodpasture paid the umpires is rediculous. Just stop it. Now lets address the facts. Both teams did not leave the field, both the batter and the runner on second did not move. Marion County did not even leave right away, there was some confusion there too. Second, the people running the scoreboard could not keep up all night. So if you are going by the scoreboard to keep up with balls and strikes then that is the problem. I contend that there were only two strikes. Where both the Marion and Goodpasture fans have a right to gripe is that the umpires were not on top of it. Thet were not definative, it should not have been an issue. Also the home plate umpire was terrible, there were times for both teams when I could not believe he would not call a strike. There are two sides to every story, so thats mine. By the way, the Tennessean newspaper says that coach Roberts from MC thought "he had initially been called out on his second strike, but thought he had miscounted." Marion showed a lot of fight, there pitcher kept GP off balance all night. It was a hard fought game by both teams, lets not degrade that by saying the umps were being paid-off, and garbage like that.
-
I suspect Goodpasture may use a smattering of different pitchers today. Hopefully they can get it done the first game, but who knows.
-
From a source close to the team, Adkins has a broken thumb on his glove hand. He can still pitch if needed, but it is unlikely he will be able to bat.
-
Goodpasture leads 8-1 bot 5th. USJ had the basses loaded with 1 out in the 4th, Cripps struck out two in a row to get out of a jam.
