  1. I did mention that and I understand that...but I also showed a couple other guys that can play and that I feel are solid athletes. If you look at unapproved website and look at stats, two WRs for Grace are in the top 20 in state for TDs and yards per catch. Now of course if you put them in your O, it would be different with the offense you run, but you do run the spread at times and I know they would definitely be in your spread O. But what was said is that every single position you guys have someone better and I don't think you have better WRs than Grace. But man your QB out of the spread could be scary and is going to make much more noise next year. From the little I saw him, he is pretty solid. We have had a pretty good season and no one has ever said anything bad about SP. But its disrespectful when comments are made that Grace might score a certain amount of points maybe against the SP freshmen or no one from the Eagles can play for SP.
  2. Yes, you guys are a great team and the best of the best in 1A and maybe up there with 2A, but I guarantee there are more players on Eagles team that could play with the Pirates. So are you saying that some of the worst teams in the NFL don't have anyone on their roster who could play on teams like the Titans who are undefeated? I know there is a big difference between the two calibers of football, but to make a statement like that is pretty crazy. Me saying that there are a few more guys that could play doesn't mean I am saying y'all aren't strong. But a Fuquan Harper who runs a close 4.5, great hands, great moves, and very strong guy...I'm sure there would be a spot for him somewhere. Or the leading WR last year in the area, I'm sure he would get some looks. I could name a couple more but my point being, Josh Blake is a great athlete but isn't the only play maker. Many of his TD passes have come from WRs making big plays and breaking tackles. You guys are a great team, but don't make disrespectful comments that aren't true when you have never seen a Grace game this year...unless you were at Whitwell.
  3. Josh is not the only guy on the team, he has solid WRs to throw to, one being the city's leading receiver last year. Grace may not have the depth y'all have and be as strong in every position, but y'all act as if Josh is the only one on the field making plays. You don't notice the little tale back making huge blocks and people on their butt, and then the occasional big run. How about the yards after reception? That doesn't happen with out WRs running after the catch and making plays. The hype on Josh is so big, which he deserves, but there are other players that can make plays. You act as if anyone who isn't SP can't have good players like SP does. I know that isn't the mentality of most, but some of your posts are that way. Good luck to both teams and I hope all stay healthy and injury free for not just this game but for playoffs.
  4. Josh just added 3 more TD's with no INTs (26/1 ratio total) and two more rushing TDs. He didn't have very many rushing yards, but then again he was not at QB for the entire second half as the game was already out of hand by halftime. He is still just shy of a 1000 yards rushing and well over 1000 passing. He also added another INT.
  5. Hey, 15 TDs on only 80 carries is impressive...especially when he has play only a half of most games. Unfortunately being as good as y'all are and winning so big is a curse when it comes to Mr. Football. But that curse is nothing compared to the trophey you got last December as well as the one you have a great chance getting this year. Everyone has a lot of respect when it comes to SP football. But they look at numbers more when it comes to this award and though I'm not going to argue against Jones, I'm just stating that is how it goes. My vote is still for Josh, but like you said, its a team effort in winning games and y'all have plenty of team players and many who contribute. That is why you are so strong. Come playoffs, I'm routing for Grace as long as they can stay in the race, after that I'm rootin for the other region 3 team. Good luck!
  6. That is also a great point! Teams prepare against Grace by trying to contain him. They adjust their defense to make sure he is the one they stop. They have been heavily sending pressure on the outside to keep him in and yet he still has 850 yards rushing. He will probably pass a 1000 by the season's end. But when teams are zeroing in on one guy and he still gets the job done, that is worth recognition.
  7. We are already guaranteed at least number 2, we beat everyone else except Whitwell and SP...Whitwell is down towards the bottom so they can't get a higher seed than us, only SP can.
  8. It definitely is a toss up, but I would have to go with LV ahead of SD. SD is missing some key players right now with injuries. I think their two top runners are out. Plus, I don't think the young guys over at SD can contain LV's quick QB and RB out of the spread offense. I'm going with LV third, but hey I could be wrong.
  9. True in some senses...but you got to understand, if you watch all the games, many of Josh's runs are from pass plays where he has pressure. He actually avoids MANY tackles to get to the open field. Not every big run, but many. Sometimes he rolls out and the DBs choose to cover heavy and Josh has room to run. But many times the front 7/8 get to Josh and Josh has to scramble and avoid tackles to get his yards...especially against Boyd, he earned all 90+ of those yards. I am just arguing the point that Josh should be on the ballot. I'm not saying Josh is a better athlete, but definitely deserves recognition for being on the ballot. Will I argue if they chose a David Jones over Josh...no, because he definitely deserves it, he is a GREAT athlete. Should Josh be on the ballot, heck yeah!
  10. We just listed one...Josh Blake accounts for 35 TDs But still that is impressive of Bunkie. Not taking away from his accomplishments.
  11. Yes, I remember the game quite well and if the stats on him from the Boyd game are true, then I would love to have those stats and be considered a down game for him. Of course I'm sure he would definitely say that also because we ended up with an L that game. The point is, his stats are impressive enough to be considered for Mr. Football and be on the ballot. No one is saying Jones or anyone from SP doesn't deserve it. They are a GREAT team who played some great non conference games, and won, and still have great stats. But when a QB can rush for almost 1000 yards, might get there this week, and 12+ rushing TD's and then throw for over a 1000 with a 23/1 TD/INT ratio, that is impressive. Some of the teams they play aren't the best, but they still have good atheletes that Josh must get past. I'll say this, obviously if I had the vote I would give it to Josh, but if I had to vote someone else, I would still pick Jones despite the fact that he gets runs taken away SP destroying other schools. I've watched him play and he is a hard down hill runner.
  12. I don't have exact stats on Josh but...He is right around a 1000 yards rushing with around 10-15 rushing TDs and over a 1000 yards passing with 25 TDs and only 1 INT. A 25/1 TD/INT ratio is pretty good. I don't know exactly how many INTs on defense he has, but its about 3-4. No clue on tackles.
  13. I don't have exact stats, but Josh Blake is right around 1000 yards rushing as a QB with somewhere around 15 TDs rushing. Passing he is over a 1000 with around 25 TDs and only one INT. They run a spread offense. I'm not saying Mr. Football cuz when teams like SP are doing what they are doing, its hard not to say one of them, but Josh's stats are impressive...as are Coltons. Hope he keeps it up!
  14. I appreciate your repsonse and will be on my way;). I'm glad you are mature and accept criticism. I understand you are upset at the situation, but how bout putting kids first and not building on the situation. Was it wrong, more than likely, should you dwell on it...no. As to the response about TN football...you are in the state of tennessee and you represent TN football. Unless you are a teenager, start acting like adults and put it aside and look forward. As Kingbrian asked, I'm done posting on this board, but know that the harsh words towards others and their schools is actually embarrassing to your programs and to yourselves...and you know, it does sound like everyone but the school it happened to has moved on...you should to! God Bless and good luck in the rest of your season!
  15. I understand, just thought I would give you a lil heads up on to how y'all are sounding. I know you are a writer correct...you are used to it...but the others, represent your school. I am a Tennessee football fan and the way y'all are complaining is embarrassing.
  16. As an outsider who isn't even in the area, y'all need to settle down. Even those against Grace, y'all are embarrassing your program/regions with your complaints and trashy talk. It's over, move on already. Let's look ahead to this week and the weeks to come. You are getting no where complaining about what happened and is happening over in Knoxville. The kids don't need to hear this so MOVE ON!!!
  17. This Grace Academy fan is praying for Ty, family, and friends!!!
  18. What about 1-4? How do you think it will turn out? LV lost a lot and they were number 2 last year...will another team take the number 2 if the Pirates do what all predict and get first again?
  19. LOL, I agree...that is why I made sure to say we weren't the best, I mean cummon its SP...will anyone be stronger? But I do feel we are strong in the backfield!
  20. I'm not going to say they are the best backfield, especially with the thread started from the great SP and the great players they have over there... but Grace will have a solid backfield...Two seniors, the QB and TB, who have shown they can run the ball pretty well the last couple years as well as some help from a couple other guys who I will guess get some carries...like the eighth grader who will be a freshman next year. But you got a QB who runs around a 4.4/4.5 40, and a TB with average speed but TONS of power and hard to bring down. They have had some solid games with a line that hasn't been very strong in the past...hopefully will be different since they only lost one lineman and will have others more experienced and bigger. So I would put them up there on the list of teams with a solid back field!
  21. I don't know if you are a LV fan or Monterey fan...but if you are a Monterey fan, I don't think I would be putting that quote on there. LV is the real deal, loaded with experience and leadership, play hard, and they got tons of talent...not to mention great coaches. When teams play them, it is never in the bag...even their losses were close games and I'm sure the other teams didn't think it was in the bag.....Now, if you are a LV fan, I don't know much about Monterey other than their record, but I'd say that is a more true statement you made.
  22. Not going to disagree with most your picks...but Silverdale? Last year was the supposed to be the bigger year cuz of recruits but they were shut down first round...so was our team, but our team put a whoopin on Silverdale...second half that is;). I still have a lot of respect for the program SD has...they do make noise and let their presence be known by playing hard and with heart, I'll give them that. But I don't see how they can be on that list if they lost a handful of role players. I'm not saying this cuz they are my team...but it is hard to still understand people choosing SD being ahead of Grace when Grace returns almost everyone and has some new players that will help out also. That said, that is still your opinion and I will respect that, haha, I just wanted to put in my opinion.
  23. Good luck to both teams and congrats on making it here!
  24. Hey, I'm not going to brag on it...very happy to see SD that far in the tourney! The first game was interesting...18-12, very long but exciting game. As far as football season...y'all have been saying that years past and still nothing to show for the Grace/SD match up. I'm still wondering who y'all have that you feel you can match up to the strong returners of Grace... I'll leave it at that, this is a baseball forum.
