  1. Who said they were loaded? I'm not sure after losing 5 starting seniors last year anyone said they were loaded. What was said was the district should be easy for them. So far nothing difficult in district other than DB surprising some people. Yes they have lost many non league games, but at least they are to good teams that they schedule. Definitely not the season expected, but we will see what they do in the next couple weeks.
  2. ehhhh, the jury is still out... If you look at their schedule, not much real competition...and then you got the losses to Sale Creek and Whitwell which don't help your argument. They had a good game against Grace but I've already said it once...it comes down to tourney time and they can only prove it then. Congrats on the record so far and Good luck ti tourney time!
  3. I like the confidence, I really do, but until you beat Grace, you can't say you are better. You've been saying that the past few years... who came up with the "w"? Last year EVERYONE thought you would win. I heard it everywhere I went, and who put up 48 points on ya?
  4. One thing I've noticed about Silverdale is they play with a ton of heart and play hard. Although I don't mind people saying they are better cuz it's fun proving everyone wrong each year, I still don't see how they have a better team this year than last year. Unless there are some more transfers we don't know about, you not only lost solid athletes, you lost solid leadership in your QB, FB/LB, and TB/DB. I admire the confidence you have in them football time, but Grace has most their skilled athletes back with addition to some skilled athletes...I predict the same thing from last year, ya'll can't stop Grace's QB for 4 quarters...you read the post, he is a solid 4.5/ possible 4.4 40 yd. dash. So not only do you need to contain him, you have the same RB, a couple other guys that may get carries, plus the same #1 WR for Grace with addition to a couple new guys that can help with that spread offense. Your D is designed to stop run O like ya'll did with LV last year...and my hats are still off to ya'll even though you lost. But you don't have enough to hold off the spread O with the multiple skilled athletes that will be running it for Grace. I look forward to seeing why you think they will be better cuz I just don't see it.
  5. The problem is coaches have so much to do and not much help that parents are score keepers...and some just don't know the rules and difference between moving up on past balls/wild pitches and actually stealing a base. Coaches should be able to run through the score book afterwards and mark where they remember whether it was a straight steal or advance on passed ball/wild pitch or any other mistakes in the book. As far as records, I don't see anyone breaking the record anytime soon...that number is impressive.
  6. I'm all about being supportive of your program, but to say you killed Grace is kind of funny. You were ahead first half, but you were only able to stop their offense for so long. Second half Grace jumped on ya'll and put a pounding on you. The score would have been worse, 48-28, but ya'll scored at the very end making it 48-35. It Yes, your QB got hurt who was a good QB, but that wouldn't have beat Grace. You don't lose a game and say "we killed them" when Grace won by a respectable margin. As far as this year...ya'll lost some big talent...QB, TB/DB, FB/LB and I'm guessing some more...those were just the big losses I know about. Grace lost a good WR, a LB and and their biggest lineman. They have a more experienced QB, TB along with a couple other guys that have proven they can run, their top WR, and a line that is more experienced and getting bigger...not SP big though;). I didn't even mention the young guys that are coming up from the 8th grade team that dominated last year...or some new guys that are at the school. We beat ya'll with pretty much the same team we will have this year and you are saying that SD will be #1 after losing a big chunk? That's even a slap in the face to the State Champs SP! Ya'll have a great coach who will help, but I don't think you are beating Grace...haven't yet. With that, looking forward to it and best of luck to all the R 3 teams in preparation...hope ya'll stay healthy!
  7. Most definitely...I understand. Good luck to your school/schools!
  8. I wasn't directing the quote directly at you, sorry bout that. A lot of people have those thoughts though. And I don't think we are complaining about the amount of equipment we have, and by no means asking for sympathy about it. I'm actually just saying there isn't no real advantage we have.
  9. I believe TK wasn't really complaining...I mean it sounds like they are still not where they should be but I think TK was mostly sticking up for private schools. Public schools seem to have a cloudy view on how things go in private schools and it really isn't any advantage at all. If it were, then teams like Boyd, Grace, SD, CCS would be dominating...do you see that? No. So instead of complaining, worry about your school and succeeding there.
  10. Easy there...I think you've earned some respect, don't worry about that. As far as 5a, before the season what did you expect? The past couple years it has been a cake walk and there was no reason to think otherwise this year. Ya'll have proved to be better, good job. What people are saying is, you will really prove your point when tourney time hits. One win isn't going to prove you are the best...it just proves you are better and congrats on that. Enjoy your win, and we'll see you come tourney time!
  11. Same in college...NAIA at least. They are just as strict as far as sliding into second during a DB attempt. River is right, there has to be a brick wall and you must not overslide second. I could definitely understand the frustration, especially when there was no contact...but it is a rule.
  12. LOL, mmmmm k. If you say so! I'm not sure you can really have a say when you were there and saw multiple hits, over 10 clean stolen bases, dunno how many K's, and so on. Yes, two guys booted the ball once, but last night was a turn for the better and much better to watch than most games this season.
  13. Alright now, calm down again /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> ...should I start saying runs that were not earned because of errors? I mean, I only write on here to state facts. I think saying "unearned" runs makes it pretty clear how they've been playing....it means they aren't making the outs given to them. That pretty much sums up how its been. Tonight was a step in the better direction though.
  14. No, I don't remember "they" or it being plural...I think I'm the only one that really talked about Grace vs. Valley. Do you see anymore Grace fans talking about it? I wasn't even bragging, but rather discussing the game since there were LV fans, or players, complaining about the pitching and how they couldn't hit slow pitching. It wasn't even close to bragging as if you look at my previous messages, I congratulated ya'll on stepping up in the final two innings and doing what great teams do. I'll admit things have gone differently than expected this season, but I wouldn't count Grace out yet. They still have some talent and what counts is tourney time. Good job against CSAS and good luck again today!
  15. I hope it didn't take until just now to realize I'm a Grace fan /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> I can respect your opinion though with how things have gone, but I don't think talent is still strong enough from the other teams: Temple, DB, SD, and CB for them not to get it. No disrespect to LV, but Grace played another solid game against a great team. Score was 7-3, but one booted ball in the second caused 6 unearned and Grace held them the rest of the game...yes, I said "unearned runs" again haha. Seems like that is killing Grace, but I have a hard time seeing DB repeating last Thursday once tourney time gets here. Temple, how do you feel you will do against Grace?
  16. I'm not bashing you, but your statement will be made at the end of the season. One game won't make that statement. It was well earned, but one game won't do it. Don't brag about beating SD because I've seen them play. You guys are definitely better, but watching your actual play, not impressed and will not stand to strong teams if you were to move on. You try playing a team like LV. But I still think Grace will wake up and beat you come May and your season will end there. The only statement you've made is you are better than last year. The statement you are talking about can only be made come tourney time. Again congrats and good luck until May!
  17. First off, congrats on the win. Don't get too cocky yet, you still have to face Grace again when it really matters. Plus, I'm not sure how ya'll will really do once you were to face bigger competition. No doubt some of your players are having good games, but I'm not seeing very much outside competition and still don't feel ya'll are AS strong as you think. Definitely much better and improved, but I still see Grace flipping that switch on soon and playing at the level they are capable of come tourney time. Watching that game, I honestly didn't see anything that was overpowering from ya'll...you just put a bat on the ball and it seemed like Grace just couldn't field. I really hope to see that switch be turned on from Grace and if it is, they will beat you. I don't say that to take away from your win though, you definitely deserved it. Good luck the rest of the season and I can't wait to go and watch when we face each other again.
  18. I totally agree...I'm kind of glad this board has kind of died down as I feel is was kind of pointless. It's obvious who this team was started against and it no way comes close to what a softball team sounds like. I don't know why a team would get so upset because another team is having fun in a dugout trying to get their team excited. If a team is saying harsh things towards another team, then something needs to be done, if they are just being loud and having fun, ignore it if you don't like it and play baseball.
  19. Hey, I don't disagree with you, baseball is more than just hitting. They need to fix some defensive mistakes and they'll be fine. They are getting more agressive at the plate and hitting now which is good to see. But you are definitely correct inappropriate, they need to stop allowing the unearned runs. I did mention that, I was just saying after that first inning, they played much better and battled a very solid WVHS team. Sounds like you guys battled tough and played some good baseball in your tourney. Wish I coulda seen it.
  20. To be more specific, Grace had a rough first inning and gave up some unearned runs. I think the score was 10-5 final, but 8 of the 10 were unearned. Outside the first inning, Grace fought back and did pretty well.
  21. Hung with Walker Valley and Polk Co. and lost to the Alabama school and Marion pretty badly. Actually took a 6-0 lead on Polk but had a rough second and third. The young team is figuring things out and will do just fine as they play their first league game Monday.
  22. So what do you do when you play a bunch of schools you can run rule instead and then get to region, district, and sub state and end up playing those type of schools Grace is playing now? Think about it, Grace has a great chance making it to sub as two team get to go. Why not prepare yourself for that kind of competition instead of scheduling teams that you can run rule all the time?
  23. Agreed, not appropriate or needed here.
