  1. I don't think anyone is calling these the top 2 in DII. You're right about the Memphis schools being good...in fact, I think the Memphis schools are better than the Middle/East schools this year, at least at the top.
  2. I'm gonna say Ensworth wins because they're at home. These two teams on a neutral court would be some kind of game.
  3. Wow...that is some kind of math you got going on there /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  4. My prediction is that the streak will continue, BUT I do think that Centennial poses the biggest district threat for Franklin this year. The key for Centennial will be guard play, as I think they have the (slight) advantage over Franklin inside...should be a good one!! /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  5. Yes...Hillwood still must travel to Centennial /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  6. LA wins this one in a rout unless the big girl scores 50 /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  7. I'm surprised this topic has garnered only one response. I thought this was a big rivalry game.
  8. Fair enough...thanks for the response.
  9. Hillsboro won at Mt. Juliet and is undefeated. Why did you vote Mt. Juliet ahead of them?
  10. Hillsboro is undefeated, so they have done well against all teams and schemes.
  11. If Ezell is "that good", does that then mean that Lipscomb is "that bad" for losing to Hillsboro by 20? Just curious /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  12. Ravenwood looked good in this tournament...they are going to make some noise. Unfortunately for them, they are in the same district as Franklin and the same region as Franklin and Antioch. That will keep them from advancing out of the region, in my opinion.
  13. I don't see Franklin's streak ending this year...should be Franklin at the top and everyone else playing for second place. However, if the streak does end this year, then I think it will be Brentwood and Dennis King who get it done. PhillyFan, I'm with you on Freddy.

  15. I think Northeast and Ensworth definitely desrve consideration for the top ten, but Ensworth has a loss to a Columbia which clouds the issue for me, and Northeast struggled some at the beginning of the season. Perhaps Northeast struggled due to football players missing/just returning? Not the case with Ensworth, as their loss to Columbia was December 20th. As for Franklin vs. CPA, that would be a game worth watching, but I give the nod to Franklin. Too much depth, and the coaching would be a draw, whereas most nights CPA has a coaching advantage. To answer someone's earlier question, I don't think CPA wants any part of AAA on a nightly basis, although they would do just fine here and there. When it's all said and done, I think that Antioch is at the top and everyone else is playing for second place. Just my opinion.
  16. Today's scores: Summertown 47 FRA 37 Brentwood Academy 60 Ravenwood 54 Livingston Academy 67 (OT) York 60 The championship game between Livingston Academy and York was a championship worthy game. York led throughout, but Livingston Academy fought back in the fourth quarter to force overtime. Once in the overtime period, Livingston Academy found a way to win just as they did last night against Franklin. Two overtime wins in two nights for the Livingston girls! Very impressive, and a great finish for the Williamson County Invitational.
  17. That Livingston Academy-Franklin game was an exciting one. Franklin scored 15 straight points to start the third quarter, many of them layups after steals. Give the Livingston Academy girls credit for pulling out the win in overtime. The championship game should be a good one tonight. I think Livingston Academy has a slight advantange due to having a little more size, but I would not be surprised at all if York won after what they did to Brentwood Academy yesterday...they looked great. Better get to the gym early...this rivarly game will draw a big crowd.
  18. I agree that Livingston Academy is the favorite heading into this tournament. The Brentwood Academy vs. FRA game should be a good one if FRA is healthy. Brentwood Academy is a solid team this year...they split two games with Riverdale, who is tied for first in District 7-AAA. I would not be surprised at all to see a Livingston Academy-Brentwood Academy matchup in the final.
  19. Hillsboro won at Mt. Juliet last night 50-45, breaking Mt. Juliet's 60-something home game winning streak. I have not seen much, if any, coverage on this event. I would have thought that a lot of people would have already posted on CoachT and/or there would be some newspaper coverage...am I missing something? Congrats, Hillsboro! That is a great win against a very good Mt. Juliet team.
  20. This game will not be close...Ensworth in a romp. Too much talent.
  21. Here's my top five from Middle TN: Mt. Juliet Jackson County Wilson Central Hillsboro Shelbyville or Cookeville As for East TN, not sure who would make my top five, but I know that Webb is in there.
  22. I think Shelbyville is the better team, but I'm giving the nod to Mt. Juliet in this one because they are at home. This should be an outstanding game.
  23. What is the schedule for Friday? In particular, I am interested in Hunter's Lane, McGavock, Mt. Juliet, and Sycamore girls.
  24. Upperman beat Dickson County by around 35 Franklin beat Blackman by around 6 Lavergne beat Chatt A & S by around 25 Siegel beat Clarksville by around 35 Upperman looked like a well-oiled machine...Franklin has some shooters but not much size...Lavergne is very athletic, good size...Siegel looked good, good size...Shelbyville looked good even without their post players, they will be very strong when they get everyone healthy...Blackman has some shooters and slashers, not a lot of height...Chatt A & S has some good athletes but not real skilled...Clarksville looks young...Dickson County did not look good against Upperman, but I've seen them before and they are a good team...Upperman just really looked good today...Wilson Central looked good, Hassel is very strong...Obion is a very good team, had not seen them before, they have one outstanding player and several other good ones Overall, a good day of HS basketball...should be an exciting year!
