  1. It is a little tough to call Region 5 - 2a really weak. GP, DCA and CPA combined for 31 wins and beat up each other in the process. Not to mention the Titles and Runner-up titles among them.
  2. There is a rumor that some big money alums are willing to pay Pack or whoever whatever to get them back in the Hunt. Are they considereing DII as a place to compete?
  3. I have no idea what kind of student Dailey is, but staying eligible by the TSSAA standards is not very difficult. Any HS athlete could fail a class each semster and stay eligible without summer school as long as they were not taking a study hall. Like many kids, he could clearly be eligible and not make clearing house because he may not do well on standardized tests.
  4. If the Ensworth statement means David Pack, he is a very good coach, but can anyone win there in that region with limited talent?
  5. They are called Guidance Counselors, I just thought every school had at least one. Even most coaches know now to make sure they are registered for the clearing house, unfortunately there is not much the coaches can do if the kid is not even close by the spring of his junior year, which is when they suggest you register with the clearing house. Guidance conselors!
  6. Anyone know what is going on now? I called to inquire and the lady that answered the phone at the central office didn't know that the new coach left. Not too inspiring for a person looking to go to work there. Are they starting over, calling the next guy on the list?
  7. Hard to say, there was all kinds of buzz about the parents wanting him fired around Chrsitmas. You have to give Boles some credit though he could have hung it up. He must have believed and made the kids believe that they were going to turn it around, because his kids played hard.
  8. Anyone know what happened? Was Boles fired or did he resign?
  9. As successful as Riverdale has been, means they have been under TSSAA scrutiny as well as scrutiny by everyone else. Although the TSSAA does not seek out rule breakers they will look into those that have been called to their attention, so I doubt that Riverdale is as shady as you tend to think. Large metro schools tend to have a great deal of athletes and like any program that starts to have success people will move to that area to get their kids in there especially if colleges have recuited athletes form that school in the past. PS Colleges don't pay high school coaches to get HS athletes any more, it is too risky and too hard to hide the money trail. Those that have were either lucky or realized it hasn't panned out. You might want to rethink your allegations unless you have real proof and no offense but Coach T is not always the best source for facts. As far as Coach Thompson goes, IF he runs a shady program he will eventually get caught. IF people have PROOF of illegal activity then it needs to be brought to the attention of the school and the TSSAA.
  10. Does anyone have news about Middle Tennessee Christian? Bassham out and Shadowens (Smyrna) in?
  11. DCA had several turnovers, and the game was not as close as the score indicates and was one of the worst officiated games this season. DCA lost in a preseaon scrimmage to Smith CO but are playing really well right now. The edge might go to York as the home team but it will be very close. The question is can York defend the pass as DCA threw for 300 and still rushed for another 150 again a very athletic Tyner footbal team.
  12. Eagleville is open. Anyone know anything? Resign, fired - forced out. Is Flatt the new man?
  13. Will the TSSAA release their investigation or it results? Based on conversation here it seems to be a much bigger issue than Temple wants to admit. There was just a refernce to basketball players involved and that is the second time, I have heard that and it was before I read it on here. Was Chastain the only fb coach involved? What about the HFC and his sons that also played bkb and was that part of the reason he left or resigned? If Carter has it out for Temple, why? If he really does have it out for them wouldn't he hit them harder than no post season for aa year or two while they are down and it wouldn't matter much, and stripping a district title with a marginal fine. Most schools/booster clubs could cover that fine without losing a lot of sleep. Something is missing? It all doesn't make whole lot of sense.
  14. The first step in reclassification is accurate numbers, are enrollments ever verified? There are rumors about schools giving false numbers to stay where they believe they have the best chance to win state titles. The second step is to create even team regions. 10 teams regions getting 4 playoff teams and 5 or 6 team regions getting 4 playoffs teams is ridiculous. I know there are travel issues to consider, however the TSSAA could careless when the tournments start with teams traveling to Chatt. in the middle of the week for qtr final soccer games this year and in past springs, teams have traveled all the way to Memphis for the spring fling without it even being the finals. Someone smarter than me should be able to figure out a way to balance the regions. In Region 4 1-A Clay CO and MJCA are 2 hours apart, surely there won't be teams driving much further than that to balance the regions. DIV II schools travel a ton and they seem to be managing.
