I Hope A/E wins with-out all of the players involved. If any of them get to play I hope A/E losses. A/E will show their real class in this. What will it be? I like A/E and what the Anderson's have done at this school and I know one thing if Sam was the coach they would not play also if Brian Hartzell was still the principal they would not play because both of these men are first class and they want their school and player to be first class. A/E do you have class or not we will see tonight.

How about the schools from the east

Lots of luck to Gary in his retirement. I hope he enjoy it as much as I have. Gary we can go and see some games together next year it would be fun second guessing other coaches and maybe we can play more Golf. You are a class person and you always cared about your kids first and that is the way it should be.

First Carter is not a 4A school. Carter has around 900 students a lot least than Seymour. Second Coach Householder is a great coach and anybody who know him knows what type of a person he is. He is a better person than he is a coach and as I said he is a great coach. Carter will not move up next year but Seymour will so they will not be in the same class after this year.

What rich tradition does Pigeon Forge High School have. How long has this school been open and have they ever had a winning season.

Two great coaches. When Bob went to Rule from East (Austin East) he got that program going. They had some great teams and alot of great players. Bob Polston was to Rule what Bob Black is to Fulton.

Coaches with-in the program are know by the parents and the community and they (the people) have form a like of dislike for that person. A new coach will need the support of the parents and the community to make this work. It is hard for a person on a staff of a program that has not been successful to take over the program. This does not mean they are not good coaches but it is a support thing. You don't need to start out as a head coach with some of the parents and some people in the community against you. It will take a few years to get this program where it should be and people will give a new person more time than they will someone who has been with the program. If one of the coaches that's on the staff gets the job and they lose the first game the people will start saying here we go same old thing as before. I hope Gibbs hires the best coach possible and I hope the people will get behind them and get this program up to where it should be. If I was a young coach I would love to have this job this community is growing and it will stay 3-A for one more classification than move up to 4-A so a coach will have four years to get this team ready. I could see Gibbs winning 6 or 7 games in the second year and 9 games the third year but next year will be about the same as this year maybe 4 or 5 wins.

If Coatney leaves Fulton would Robby be the next head coach. It would be great for the school and the kids because he is a first class person and a great coach. How long will Bob keep coaching he has been in this for a long time. I know he was coaching in the 60's I always told him as long as he was coaching I was not the oldest coach around. Bob has done alot for the kids in his time at Fulton and all over Knoxville he is a COACH to alot of us coaches. I wish the best to both Robby and Bob they teach more than football to the player, they teach Christ, to me this more important than any win. You are right I don't see them leaving Fulton that is what I was trying to say.

2005 Livingston Academy beat David Lipscomb Region 2 one 2006 Fulton beat David Lipscomb Region 2 Two 2007 David Lipscomb beat Fulton Region 5 one Region 2 Two Region 5 One Head to Head between the two regions for the last three years. This is all you can go by because this is the only time the two regions play each other. I never get to see Region 5 play but I do see alot of Region 2 and I know they are very good as I'm sure Region 5 is. You cannot go by play-off records because both Regions are playing the same team in their own Region again.

This young man sounds like the coach that Gibbs needs. The big problem he would have or anyone outside the program is coaching with the coaches that are at Gibbs. Most of the time in Knox-County you cannot have other coaches come with you (If you are lucky you may get one). If you have a person on the staff and they wanted the job you will have to deal with this. I hope Gibbs get the best coach possible and hope the parents and community will give him the support that he will need to give Gibbs a GREAT program. To the coaches at Gibbs who ever get the head job work with him and do what he ask because thing are going to be different. Don't be a problem get behind him and support him don't talk about him in the community if you cannot do this you need to step down. I have work with 8 different head coaches and all of them had their way of doing things and each time I had to adjust to them that is your job as an assistant coach.

Maryville = The best in the state of Tennessee and they will win in 5-A after next year Smyrna = They are not a Maryville yet but they are on their way Alcoa = Could play in 3-A and 4-A other than Maryville Maplewood = They played Maryville close David Lipscomb = A Great program that should be in the private division Independence = Looked alot better in the 2nd half Fulton = They have had a good run in 3-A we will see what they do in 4-A after next year with over 1200 students South Pittsburg = Could not play with Alcoa, Fulton, Maplewood, or David Lipscomb Goodpasture = Had a good run but could not play with any of the above also should be in the private division McKenzie = They are a good 1-A team

Leonard you are right. It is easy when you win but the real person come out when you lose. Also the last or next to last play when Lipscombs was in the V formation and the fulton player came across the top was a cheap shot some one could have been hurt. Leonard keep telling it like it is you are not over the top.

If you have not move you live one mile from Carter High School that is not in fulton's zone. Pre game should be to warm-up not to put on a show the goal post stuff and middle of the field stuff should not happen. This should be stop at all schools. TSSAA should fine any team or school that does this maybe $500 would stop this. This and all of the trash talking and pre-game talking when visiting teams get to the other school (fulton does this as teams are getting off the bus I have seen this first hand while I was talking to one of their (fulton's) coaches who I have been friends with for a long, long time and I was shock he did not stop it) his comment was they are trying to get into the other team head. All of this need to stop. Trash talking on the field they should be out of the game and miss the next game this will stop this. While we are on this I also feel that if you go to a school out of your zone you should not be allow to play in any sport but if TSSAA or Knox-County did this you would not have played at fulton would you CK

Some school chose to play up a classification. They do this after the classes have been set. That is why some classes have more schools 1A has 59, 2A has 58, 3A has 55, 4A has 61 and 5A has 63.

In 86 Doyle did not win the championship. Carter won that year in 3-A that was before the 5-A system. Carter won theirs at 10-0 and Halls won the other Dist. at 10-0. Carter won at Doyle 38-19. The Doyle team of 84 I beleive won the Dist. and got beat in the play-off by Oak Ridge.

You are right about most coaches but coachers are judge by wins and their job depend on this. I know we say coaches are to be teachers first and all of that good stuff but the pressure put on coaches to win is more and more each year. To win you have to have your player doing something year around. I have alot of friends who got out of coaching because of this and they were good Godly men and good coaches and the type of people we need around these kids. What is the answer I don't know because we all like to win and are looking for that edge.

Anderson County will win over fulton. Catholic will win over A/E. Next week Anderson County at Catholic.

How can you live that close to Catholic and play at fulton are you one of many fulton player that live out of their zone. As for watering down the field as I remember we have alot of rain that week and most fields where in bad shape I was at the Carter and fulton game and Carter field was in bad shape. Stop making excuses both teams play on the same field and if you don't like playing on their field win your region and than you can play at home.

Great Post and you are right. If they will give Hut time he will get your program where it should be. When the school was Doyle they had some great teams in the 70"s and 80"s.

You are right about AE and AC I hope they do win. Sorry about the mess up on the teams I have taking care of it. I have seen so much about the next fulton and Catholic game I just mess up. Maybe that game won"t be until next year.

You are right about the other schools. fulton is getting the kids Central used to get. I still thank private schools should play in the private classes you can recruit and by rules public schools cannot. Also with the multiplier for Catholic they should be playing 4-A but tssaa has a rules that said no private school can go up two classes in one classification period. I don't like this rule if a school has the numbers they should have to move up just like the public schools have to. Also this has nothing to do with Catholic winning this has been going on for a long time. Public schools and private schools do not play by the same rules. I hope South-Doyle fans gets what they deserve (I know it is only a few of them) but they are the ones that are making the noise. You have one of the best coaches around but you want someone who will play your kid even if your kid is not very good. This is high school all kids do not get to play. Go and get another one like the last one you had because this is what you deserve. For the South-Doyle fans who want a good program speak up for your coaches and let them know you are with them.

After next year when Catholic, AC, and fulton move to 4A maybe it will be better. All of the teams in Region 1 was in the game until the 4th Quarter and than bigger school have the advantage because of numbers.
