  1. The O'Connor kid is a stud QB mature beyond his years...already has offers from Mississippi State, Michigan State, and others, and he is just a class of 2015 recruit. Not many QB's in that class have High Major D-1 offers so he is obviously special. Not sure how he managed to end up at the B school. Will be interesting to see how he reacts to playing hard-nosed football in the southern U.S. versus what he has done in Canada.
  2. CJ Reese of number one ranked McCallie has to be up for consideration.
  3. In the DII poll that just came out yesterday Ensworth is ranked third behind McCallie (1st) and Briarcrest (2nd). The interesting thing is Ensworth received two first place votes even though McCallie is undefeated and just beat Ensworth by 17 at Ensworth. Lazy, prejudiced, or is it some people just don't give a darn? Or is it some writers know that Ricky Bowers would have beaten McCallie if he had wanted to?
  4. Not football related, but an interesting article in Sports Illustrated about DII-AA Athletics and the relationship between academics and sports. It focuses on the Cross Country team at McCallie a couple of years ago. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1169181/index.htm
  5. My Christmas Wish List - (1) World Peace (2) Change in the White House (3) Ralph starts a new winning streak against the "B" team. Seriously....Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to ya'll.
  6. Care to explain your feelings on McCallie? Why do they suck?
  7. Noticed McCallie and Tyner are not scheduled to play this year (unless they may get matched up in the Best of Preps). Don't these two teams normally play a regular season game?
  8. ^^^^^My New Favorite Baylor Fan^^^^^
  9. You go from saying you have no idea what values McCallie embraces to insinuating they must not be up to BA's standards. Sometimes, silence is golden, especially if you do not have the knowledge to stand behind what you type as an anonymous poster on a site like this. I don't know anything about BA, so I don't comment on BA like I do know.....would be a good rule for others to follow with schools outside of their knowledge sphere.
  10. McCallie (for the most part) is happy to have Ralph back and BA (for the most part) is happy to have him gone. Understanding why the academics, college destinations, and endowments of two great schools are being discussed is way above my pay grade? It's always about the right fit.... And like a few others, it's time to move on. Best of luck to BA finding your new coach...let's hope he fits.
  11. That is why I said "mostly positive".....and I agree with your other thoughts.
  12. Seriously, you have no idea. Do you really think the number of people posting on "Coach T" is an accurate indicator on how McCallie fans feel, positive or negative, regarding Potter returning to be the McCallie Football Coach again? And I can tell you it is mostly positive.
  13. Good luck to BA and McCallie...this move may make both programs better.
  14. Well....isn't this interesting, but it is not entirely surprising? The clues have been there for awhile and this really does make perfect sense for both Brentwood and McCallie. BTW, I also heard McCallie and the B School are going to merge so together they can beat Ensworth next year...although this news has not been verified.
  15. Hogan isn't capable of understanding complex issues. Hogan likes to flame. Hogan gets enjoyment out of ripping tee shirts. Hogan has jumped off the top rope and landed on his head one too many times.
  16. Judging from the butchering of the English language above, perhaps you should consider attending Ensworth, or any High School for that matter....or are you old enough? "don't it" - "we got" - nice .............
  17. For the most part, there have been really classy posts by the winners, the losers, or like me, the simply interested. I am proud of this group with one notable exception. Congratulations to Ensworth - played a great game.
  18. Really not sure how B won the regular season game so easily.....Ensworth looks strong and I hear a Big Boned Lady warming up.........
  19. Time for this football fan to weigh in.....honestly, while I will hate it if the B team wins, I do think they will use the championship game from last year for extra motivation and beat Ensworth in a close game. However, I think Corn Elder will have a big game (hard to stop that kid twice and Bowers is too smart to let it happen). Should be a great game: B 35 - Ensworth 31
  20. Wow. Would you like some cheese with that "whine"?

When would you listen to whatever was playing on your Ipod...during warm up or the match?
  22. Well, at this point, all I have to say is good luck to MUS. I think you have a classy school, classy fans, and a classy football program. I am rooting for you to win it all. Go Owls! And if you end up playing the other school in Chattanooga that resides behind the Walmart - please kick their a**. Peace!
  23. But it was NOT the turning point. That was late in the second quarter when MUS fumbled the ball away at the 5 yard line then McCallie fumbled it back to MUS on the 1 foot line and it was returned almost to midfield. MUS went on to score to lead at half 14-7. Could have been the other way around and a totally different game, possibly a barnburner. Glad you enjoyed the broadcast. It is first rate. Of course the announcers were "homers" - it was a regular weekly MUS broadcast for MUS fans - what did you expect? They are all former MUS players and/or coaches. They give insight into the game that many don't or can't. But you did notice they called it "both ways" as they say. And surely you noticed the excellent video quality. Sorry, but I disagree. While the McCallie fumble at the 18" line was huge, it was still only a 7 point game at the half....McCallie was in the game. When they punted in the 4th quarter was (in my opinion) a huge mistake and sent the wrong message to the team. And I wasn't being critical by calling the announcers homers....of course they were. I was being complimentary of their acknowledgement of good plays by their opponent. That is not typical at all for high school broadcasts. Well done.
  24. Good game - MUS deserved the win - played well - have to reserve comments about the McCallie decision to punt in the 3rd quarter with a 4th down and 20" to go.....turning point of the game without a doubt. Reminder to Bubba (McCallies Coach) -- one loss and you are out in the playoffs! Hurts...... Punt coverage - WR play - Guts by Coaching staff = D MUS the better team - good clean play - similar quality kids - even the MUS announcers were (by far) the best -- they were homers, but gave credit to the other team when deserved - appreciated that!
