  1. Congratulations to the JV team for a victory in Loudon last night. Looks like the Chiefs have a good core to build around for the next couple of years. One of the Loudon coaches said that Loudon and Sequoyah are scheduled for the next couple of years for varsity. These should be some great games for the future.
  2. After seeing both teams play, I beleive Wartburg takes this game by 7 or 14. Wartburg has a better offense, & the defense gave Loudon problems for a half. Personnel wise I believe Wartburg may have more size, nad both are comparable speed wise. This match-up should make for a good game.
  3. This has potential to be one of the best games of the year. Haven't seen Boyd, but have kept up with them through family and friends in the Chattanooga area. Loudon played a sloppy game @ Wartburg, and they usually bounce back strong when they have one of those nights like they had Friday. This might just be the game of the week.
  4. What happened to the Brewster kid? I think he played , and I heard he was suspended for the Loudon game. I thought this might be a break out year for him.
  5. Loudon has the spread zone option, whereas Sweetwater has what appears to be a triple option look. But I noticed in the Loudon game, the QB never pitched. It's more of a QB left, QB right offense. The QB is athletic though and could cause problems.
  6. If the Loudon game is any indication, Oliver Springs brings poor sportsmanship, from the stands, and some of the players. From what I could gather the Loudon coaches had to leave the pressbox due to harassmaent by fans. Number 50 from Oliver Springs threw no less than 3 punches, only one of which drew a flag. The Oliver Springs coaches chased the referees from the field, and the Loudon coaches had to have a police escort from the field. However it was a Loudon SRO who did the escorting as apparently the RCSD/OSPD allows fans to start fights with opposing coaches. Totally classless. Where is this game gonna take place?
  7. Alcoa rolls big. Sweetwater's QB left, QB right offense cannot produce against Alcoa. Alcoa 55 Sweetwater 00.
  8. It's amazing how some teams can win and act like they've been there before, and others act like the bunch on these threads. How classless can one group be.
  9. I saw the game, nad I assure you Loudon was not dominated. But Loudon did not take advantage of oppurtunities, and Greenback did. That loss may actually end up being an eye opener for Loudon. But let's keep the conversation to Alcoa/CAK. This is not the CAK team from last year. Not even close. Judging from scores, and past opponents, I see Alcoa rolling 63 or 70 to nothing. If the rumors about CAK not exchanging film last year is true, Rankin may have a point to prove. I don't think anyone in our region has any lost love for CAK.
  10. I don't think 3pts. qualifies as domination. That being said Greenback wanted it alot more than Loudon.
  11. You must have missed the Loudon game. CAK showed vulnerability to blitz, and the run game was a non factor. I think CAK might have had some injuries, but Loudon dominated the CAK offense, and never allowed them to get in rhythm.
  12. 14 for Oliver Springs may be generous. I don't know how many Seniors they graduated, but if I'm correct they dressed their varsity against the Loudon JV (sophomore & freshman) squad last year and got beat.
  13. On paper Loudon looks to stay undefeated in region play. Any opinions?
  14. I don't know how much CAK has improved, but they did not score until about 2 minutes to go in the Loudon game, and that was against 2nd and 3rd stringers. I haven't seen Alcoa play but that many goose eggs tells a tale.
  15. Any last minute predictions on the Rockwood/Loudon Game?
  16. I saw Sequoyah and Tellico play Loudon. I believe Tellico may play close for a half. Sequoyah by 21 or 28. I believe Coach Satterfield is too classy to run it up. However Sequoyah's JV and younger palyers may be able to hang 7 or 14 late in the game.
  17. I am a Loudon fan, and I don't see how Greenback cannot be ranked. I have only seen the Loudon game, but they are extremely athletic, and have speed and size. The coaching staff also seems to be all on the same page also. I am a high school football fan, and I believe, barring injuries, Greenback could be a final four team, or even play for the state championship.
  18. I hope all you Chief fans recognize what your program has been through before anybody gives up. A coaching change, a mini-revolution against the new coach, and all the while the new staff has a few weeks to prepare while the competition has been preparing for 9 or 10 months. Sequoyah has great fans and a coach that will turn things around. Satterfield is a class act and will instill the winning attitude it takes to compete and turn things around.
  19. After tonights game Sweetwater should be very grateful Greenback is not on their schedule. All the Wildcats meowing over how bad Loudon is, and how they are going to beat Loudon by 21, and how the Sweetwater QB will have 300+, well Sweetwater isn't near the team Greenback was. All the hooplah and trash talking, and this game was not as close as the score. Loudon left 2 TDs on the field and Sweetwater had 1 big play on Loudons first string defense. Loudons o-line was just as dominating. Alotta smack talk & build up, but not much of a ballgame if you came from south of Philadelphia.
  20. In reading all the different opinions I am convinced that the one team being disrespected and underestimated the most is Greenback. I am a die hard Loudon fan, but Greenback has a GOOD ballteam. If the schedule allowed I think there would be more than one 2A school with a bad taste in their mouth. Should Loudon have beaten Greenback? Maybe. But Greenback came out faster, and hitting harder than any Greenback team I'e seen. So before you bunch of Wildcats start running down a 1A school you may want to count yourself fortunate you didn't find yourself going in against a "weak Greenback team". You might have been caught off guard also.
  21. I was at the Loudon McMInn Central game, and if you beleive they played the JV the whole second half then I have a great deal on some ocean front property in Kentucky. Central did not empty the beach until well in the fourth quarter.
  22. This should be a good battle. Loudon played like they maybe overlooked Greenback. All the credit to the Cherokees. This being a region game, I hope the redskins come ready to play so they can be in the driver's seat for a playoff berth. Maybe the rollercoaster ride goes up this week. Loudon by 10.
  23. Well I deserve that one. Congratulations to the Cherokees on a hard fought game.
  24. I have a friend in Etowah that told me one of these kids was injured and the other was suspended for a legal offense that I won't go into. Is there any truth to that?
  25. With a young team it takes a while. If the Redskins played the Chargers again it might be different story. The outcome might be the same, but I believe it would be closer. The Redskins seem to be getting better and better.
