  1. Falcons in a rout...... True, they are only a skeleton of the team they were last year BUT this one will show people just how far G'field is from being a state level contender..... Prove me wrong, I have several recipes for crow....
  2. Adamsville and Union City in the same Region 103 miles apart but when A'ville goes to Union City they drive 25 miles thru Riverside and 50 miles thru Scotts Hill to get to UC..... both 6 2A
  3. Not sure how UC handles their allotment of tickets but they have tickets to sell at the High School for Tornado fans to purchase.
  4. We thank you, hope ya'll put a whippin on Goodpasture as well.....
  5. He was a hoss!! Hope he didnt have any younger brothers as underclassmen.....
  6. Well Peabody fans, i guess we could go to the Milan-Huntingdon thread to talk about our game and let the Milan fans have their battle of wits here /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> ..... Whew, hope the dawgs hit as hard against Huntingdon as their fans do against each other... /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" /> When we played Carver 2 years ago, they had a QB who was pretty darn awesome both on the field and in the classroom, what position are they loaded at this year? I think he was being recruited heavily by Ivy League schools. Anybody know where he ended up? And dont tell me thats him making the comments from Milan!! Am glad though that he is pulling for us too!!
  7. I know the stadium backs up to methodist Hospital correct? Is Union Ave. the easiest route to take?
  8. You know, as many games as I have been to in Memphis and of the Tigers, this will be a first trip for me to Crump Stadium. I will be in awe of the joint.... so many proud moments of Tiger football there.... /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> But while we are at it, celebrated daughters birthday Friday, you know what that means? It was 11 years ago Friday that the Tigers spanked the Vols!!! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> uh oh, that should open the floodgates!!! Roll PEABODY, dont want anyone to think I am speaking of Bama.... /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" /> For all those that dont know me, its all in fun from my end, dont get torn up over my comments and destract away from our being here to discuss these great kids playing these great games Friday night...
  9. Hope you dont have to ask for directions to Beale Street by spelling it, you wont make it there!!
  10. Horrible would be a good word to use about it... I had some other words but probably dont need to put them on here. It is a shame and a sham.... How many 1st round games matched up teams from the same region. 10 of 16? Teams playing each other back2back weeks from the same region.. Mr. Carter likened it to the excitement of the March madness Selection Show, yeah right!! How many teams paly someone from their own conference until they get to at least the 3rd round. It is a shame and I hope they get it rectified befroe next season and certainly dont do this to the other classifications until they do get it right.
  11. All of the games mentioned will certainly be good games and there are others in the area that should be great games with alot on the line. I wasnt taking anything away from any of the games or teams when I said Huntingdon-Milan was it hands down.... The Trenton game to me is the best one of the week but thats because I'm a little biased. I mentioned Mustangs vs Dawgs because of the history between the 2 teams, the tradition of both programs, the bitterness between the fans of both toward each other, but the mutual respect that each has for the other program, and the close proximity of the 2 schools without it being a county battle for bragging rights. All of those things, plus its loser get to the gym for roundball that make it the game with the most intrigue to me.
  12. Not even close......... Huntingdon vs Milan hands down!!
  13. I really dont think you have the corect information of that first meeting correct anyway....
  14. BUT YET YOU WANT EVERYBODY TO QUIT TALKING ABOUT THE LOCATION OF THIS WEEKS GAMES...... Lets see if we both win this week before we start talking about a game that may or may not even happen.
  15. I dont think you will hear any Peabody player or coach say that it is a gimmi win....You wont hear it from me either. Our kids played their hearts out against Westview and deserved to win that game and move on to the 2nd round, wherever it is the game would be held. Hey if Westview and JCS would have won this past week, i would have been wearing royal blue and saying go Eagles and Chargers. If you guys win Friday night and we dont, I'll be there pulling for you next week against Carver..... cant wear purple though, hope you understand!! /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />
  16. Shouldnt the game be at Huntingdon then if they are the better team and favored to win? I'm pullin for ya, but just reading the words written and they dont match up for everybody else. If the other post feel that we deserve to be lower seeded than Carver, thats fine but wouldnt a team that beat the other during the season deserve to be seeded higher?
  17. Your earlier posts made a big deal about how much they deserved the higher seeding and home field advantage.... I didnt know there was a line on the HS playoffs though so didnt know that we were such favorites. I dont think you will hear anyone at Carver say that we will win because we played in the tougher region. Your posts have talked about how good their non-region schedule has been and how good the teams lost to were. Try putting ono hand over either side of your mouth when you talk about posts so that words dont come out of both sides that dont match your earlier comments. Does that mean that Huntingdon will be favored Friday night because they beat you earlier in the year?
  18. And you are entitled to your opinion, but in an earlier post you stated that they are the higher seeded team and it is so deserved for them to be at home in this game.... If thats the case, how can you call it an upset?
  19. Doesnt sound like it is going to happen now. Actually Carver initiated that move from what I understand. If it would have happened it would have been great for us and them. The TSSAA is gonna get a big majority of the gate money anyway, no matter where it is played, so if Carver could have made some money to cover their seasons expenses it would have been a good thing. My understanding is that they (Carver) were asking more than we wanted to pay. I dont know what kind of arrangement they have as far as using someone elses field, if they have to pay that school or not, but it could have been a moneymaker for them.. Trenton will carry a crowd to memphis and the kids will go down there and play there butts off, just like they would have here at home. I'm sure it will be a good game and Carver will come out ready to play. When you get into the 2nd round of the playoffs, you better not concede anything, it will be a long night and a long ride home. We will be there with bells on to cheer for our Tide and win or lose we will come home proud of the kids and the effort they have given weekin and weekout. I dont see location as being a detriment to my making the trip, we have been to several schools in Memphis in the not so great parts of Memphis and we have been treated very good by the host team and the fans that we have come into contact with for the most part. Yes, something could happen, but it can and has happened in our own neighborhoods and county schools, its the society we live now, which is a shame that we cant feel comfortable going to cheer our local kids playing a game.
  20. I think if you go back and look closely at the Peabody-JCS game, all of those opportunities came in the 2nd half. JCS had 2 first downs in the 1st half and the first one was by a penalty against Peabody with about 6 minutes to go in the half. JCS is a fine team with great kids and talent but that night they were manhandled by Peabody. If they play 10 times, i dont know what the result would be, but two weeks ago, it was all Tide. Good luck to all of OUR teams in Region 8AA, it truly is a shame what the powers that be (TSSAA) have done to our area teams and the bracketing for the tournament. And yes, look around the state and Humboldt should have been in also..
  21. Yeah some people will like the setup. Its not fair to the kids in this area and our region who have busted their humps all year playing the best teams in the AA classification to be rewarded by having to play them again. While you aregonna have some far less talented teams moving on because of watered down and weak regions. Dont punish our kids because we play in the toughest region by having them sit back and watch weaker teams move on because oftheir geographical location. I'm dont know that the State Champion will come from this region, but I assure you that there is not a tougher region the state.. We really should have had a 5th team to make it in the playoffs, If Humboldt would have been in alot of the other regions of the state, they would have been region champs, andthey were our 5th place team. The TSSAA has screwed this up even worse than I thought they were capable of doing when I heard it would be in their hands.
