  1. Hey game, I know you are wary of being overconfident about any opponent and thats not a bad thing. However, there are alot more than 2 kids on this team that will be playing college football if they decide they want to continue on. I agree that doesnt mean we will wipe the floor with everyone we play, but the kids seem to be very focused for every game they have played and thats a credit to Gaddis and his staff. They do an awesome job of preparing these guys. Dont think for a minute that Gaddis is overlooking anyone. Oh yeah, the "HOT DOC" is allowed to say whatever she wants on here because she is THE HOT DOC!
  2. Who cares what your tired of hearing! The only reason there is so much hype about Henry County is because they are for real! Your Hardin County guys had two great players last year in Gilchrist and Shutt and we came to your house and took you to the wood shed! I think Gilchrist could be one of the top passers in the state again this year. If you get ticked off at Henry County fans because they are excited about their team then find another thread to read. I agree some might go a little overboard on there comments but it is a Henry County thread. Just for the record, this Patriot team has more than 2 players that will be playing Div IA college football. By the way, the QB is Marsalis Teague. You would think that someone who knows so much about Henry County tradition could get his name right, especially since the announcers have been saying it on a regular basis over the last two years. I'm sure you will get a chance to practice saying it when you come to town Halloween night. Maybe you should dress in a Patriot costume and you wont have to remember your nightmare. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  3. Hey Doc, maybe Gallimore just hasnt expressed his need for "PIZZA" to the second stringers. Perhaps he should be a little more demanding of them. I'm sure Fowler, Martise, Milliken, and several of the 250+ club could help him get his point across. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  4. By no means am I advocating running the score up on teams to degrade them, but I would like to see our first string play through the third quarter now. Only for conditioning reasons. Maybe just sub the starters in with the second string and JV throughout the second half so they can get used to playing a full game. I do think the defense has done this already.
  5. I never thought about that advisor but its a great idea! Besides, Murray State has a brand new turf field just like UTM and I think the kids would love to play on that surface again. Plenty of seating for all fans too! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  6. I'm sure Gilchrist is a very smart QB and probably throws the ball very well. However, I have only seen him play one time and it was against Henry Co. last year. It was a home game for him but I'm sure it is one he wants to forget. He also had that good wideout to throw to last year. Bottom line is that if any D-1 school is looking at giving a kid a free education for his ability, then the kid must have great talent. I would take Marsalis also because he is a good passer and the things he does with his feet and slight of hand is amazing. Sometimes the refs and the cameras lose track of who has the ball. And the question was about high school QB's.
  7. Well said wingman! I couldnt agree more. I would love to see McKenzie, Milan, & Henry Co. all representing W. Tn. in state champ. games. Why not everyone just bury the hatchet and quit all the "my dad can beat your dad" crap. How about supporting each others programs and show what W. TN. football really has to offer. It's not like we are standing in each others way to get there. Go Patriots!!
  8. It was Neal Capps that laid the wood to the reciever going over the middle. Lots of good hard hits passed out by the Patriots last night. Robbie and Martez were both leaving their mark. Loved the special teams play! Great hang time on kicks to let the guys get down field and say hello. Love that new turf also! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  9. I agree, this should be a good one and its being played on brand new turf field surface at UTM.

    Kickers?

Daquilla from Henry Co. looks really good. Kohls kicking.com had him tied with Kaufmann from MUS at their memphis camp with a 52 yarder. Hooper, who punts for Henry Co. hit a 55 yarder in the air last week at Liberty. I think these websites only rank the kids that go to their camp though. Im sure there are some great kickers out there that did not or could not attend a camp.
  11. There is alot of talk about Henry Co. being the best in the west lately. As a Patriot fan I agree that they have great talent throughout the program. Not just the seniors and upper classmen but all the way through the program. It has been a long time since I have seen a highschool team that can score in the blink of an eye like Henry Co. can. With that being said, I also believe that in order for us to remain at the top of the mountain, we need to play every game like its our last. The moment you assume that your invincible is when you get the truth rammed down your throat. Every game matters and no one is to be overlooked. We have a huge target on our back and every team we play will give it their best shot. If we stay focused then we should have a running clock again, but the key is staying focused for the whole game regardless of the score. ROLL RED ROLL!!! Keep improving every game and the rest will take care of itself!
  12. I agree with this post Game. If I remember right we ran all over Mapelwood in the stats but still came away with the "L". Just need to take one at a time and treat everyone like its a playoff game. Dont want to overlook anyone. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  13. The only TD that Liberty scored on the first team was referee assisted. The Zebras moved the ball downfield like they were playing and tired of being embarrased. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Liberty did do a good job on kickoff return when we kicked it deep. Second TD came on subs in mop up duty with about 2 min. in game.
  14. While all of the haters out there are bashing our team just remember that Dominique has been offered a full ride by Tenn. and LSU. Marsalis has run out of fingers trying to count his Div. I offers (all of them are BCS conferences). These are not the only kids from our team that will be playing on Saturday either. I cant say that I blame yall though, if my kid was getting steam rolled by Dominique or left standing still by Marsalis I would be a little embarrased too. Both of them are great kids and I'm glad they are on our team. If your coach had the chance he would trade yours away to get one of them. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Go Big Red!!!
  15. Henry County is second to none! Come to a home game and you will see what I mean. Approx. 6500 for first game of season. I have been to college games that dont have this type of fan base! From the students dressing up or painting thier bodies to sirens, whistles, horns, and standing room only. Every game is like playoff atmosphere. Sold out 30 min. before kickoff fri. night. Not bad for high school. Also, since we are talking about the fans, Henry County also travels with more fans than alot of teams have at home games. RED PRIDE BABY!!!!
  16. The field at Henry County is natural turf and is in great shape! The grounds crew does a fantastic job! The stadium itself has had some recent upgrades and it looks better than some of the local colleges. The whole atmosphere is like right out of the movies. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> Tailgaiting on the practice field and all. The real "Friday Night Lights". If you have never been, you might want to come check it out when your team has a bye week. We always enjoy company and try to feed them well. /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> You might want to come early though, this past fri. was a sellout 30 min. before kickoff!
  17. Even if they do have a new QB, it wont matter. They were winning last year at our house 14-0 at halftime by running the ball. When the HC coaches made adjustments at halftime, DC tried to start passing the ball and didnt put another point on the board, we had 21 unanswered. They still have talent throughout their program and with this being a big rivalry you can pretty much throw out the stats. Defense will need to be tough and field position will be key. Coaches will have our boys ready for this game and will need strong performances from #'s 18, & 19. It is possible that our special teams and kicking game could decide this one. I would love to see HC with another dominating performance! LET'S GO PATS! ROLL RED ROLL!!!
  18. I think it was a NW fan that was doing all the trash talking about Dominique. I wish all of the opposing teams would do the same thing because I love to see him take their comments and shove them down their throat. I dont know anyone at HC that would hate on Dominique, Marsalis, or any of the other players. These guys are a team and they treat each other that way from what I have seen and heard. They have one goal on their mind, and it is a team wide goal. One game at a time will get it done. However, dont rush the season because it will pass by fast enough. This could be a season to remember for a lifetime. I know the seniors will never forget this year. Just for the record, I have yet to see any college actively recruit a runningback just because he was "FAT". I guess 260lbs of MUSCLE can look rather BIG under pads, especially when its steam rolling the other team! HA! HA! HA! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> THey probably just misspelled it and meant PHAT!!!!
  19. Would someone please handout the pacifier's so all of this cryin' will stop. How about a new topic that actually talks about the team, upcoming games, standout players, opposing players we should be wary of, instead of all this other crap. How do the boys look from up on the hill during practice over the last two weeks since Humbolt? Everyteam in the nation from pop-warner to pro needs to shore up some shortcomings in some aspect of their game or else they would be perfect. I have never seen a perfect team, and dont imagine I ever will. I dont care how we looked as opposed to how we look now. I see coachT has an article about the kid from Father Ryan. I am looking forward to playing them and seeing how we fare in a game like scrimmage against a good team. I am excited about this year and look forward to some great games, great tailgaiting, great fans, great friends, and great "FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS"!!! Lets go Patriots! Lay it all on the field and their will be no regrets!
  20. Nick Russell will certainly be missed, and as far as Zach, he was a good snap holder for extra points and field goals. Nick will be hard to replace but their is talent on the team to do it. Just need to find the guys that want to step up and play hard. I do say guys because there were some big shoes left to fill when you talk about last years seniors. Not only will we miss their talent, but they had a couple of good team leaders in that bunch also. Im talking about Lamar, B.J., Caleb, Dillon, Tyrell, Hutch, and so on...... I remember last year though, wondering if they would be as good after losing alot of key seniors. They proved that they were better. This year they have the same situation facing them and I believe our coaching staff can make the stars rise up from within each player. We have a great coaching staff and everyone in TN. knows it. Going to enjoying the ride this year, it should be a great one.
  21. You two sound like your married. How about this years teams. Rumor has it that atleast two at Henry County have some big offers on the table from top 10 DI colleges, and some of the incoming sophmores are going to open some eyes. Anyone hear anything?
  22. Anybody that wants a preview of next year should go out to the fieldhouse and see how bad these kids want it! Some of them never stopped working out. This is going to be a BIG offseason at every position! ROLL RED ROLL!!!
  23. Sorry to accuse you of having been one of our victims Ole Dad. After reading some of the other posts from the Oak Ridge fans, including yourself, I see why you would want to start this rumor. With all the drama yall have going on over there I bet most of your fans and players would do anything to get him back. NEWSFLASH......We aint lettin go of him or Mrs. Gaddis. They are both loved by all! Especially the students! /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  24. So you want to start rumors about "OUR COACH" but cant even spell his name right. I cant blame you for wanting to do what you can to get us all worked up. You probably had to play us. However, I doubt that "OUR COACH" is going anywhere other than the 4A State Championship with Henry County. Just for the record, his name is GADDIS! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  25. First of all I want to say that Maplewood deserves to go to the game because they won. However, with that being said, I don't see them being any competition for Maryville. They really werent much competition for Henry County. Melrose was a much better team. I know we lost the game and I am not a sore loser, Im just calling it like I see it. During the Melrose game I felt like we played as hard as we could to get the win. Against Maplewood, we made too many mental errors and let them stay in the game long enough to win it. Im sure the players and fans at Hillsboro can relate to what I am saying. If we had played the same as we did against Melrose we would have had a running clock in the 2nd half. Im sure this does not make the Maplewood fans happy but they dont need to worry about what I say anyway. They need to worry about Maryville! To tell you the truth Maplewood, I was glad to see that Simpson was the starter because #11 has a much better arm! We will just have to try for next year!
