  1. This is copied directly from the handbook and it does not in anyway conflict with what it says at the top of the TSSAA page. Please read. Once the 24 teams have been selected in the Class 1A and 2A playoffs, the teams will be geographically grouped into four six-team quadrants. Once the 32 teams have been selected in the Class 3A, 4A, 5A, and 6A playoffs, the teams will be geographically grouped into four eight-team quadrants. This grouping will be done without regard to district/region alignments. Priority for seeding once the teams have been placed in their geographic quadrants shall be as follows: 1. Teams finishing 1st in their district will receive first priority. 2. Teams finishing 2nd in their district will receive second priority. 3. Teams who do not finish 1st or 2nd in their district and qualify based on their position in the football play-off standings shall receive last priority. This says exactly what Gerry said. The top 32 teams by rankings will not necessarily make the playoffs. If a district winner or runner-up falls below that line the bottom team(s) in the 32 team field will drop out and they will be placed into it. Then the remaining 32 teams will be seeded by district champ, runners up, and finally wildcards. That is basically what the little blurb atop the TSSAA web site has too. The quadrants on the class maps and playoff standings are based exclusively on the current football playoff standings and do not take into consideration the first criteria for qualifying which is teams finishing 1st or 2nd in their district. For this reason, the final quadrants/seedings cannot be set until the conclusion of the 10th week when the regular season is complete. I hope this cleared things up some. Thanks,
  2. @38320 I'm with you. I think they are going to be fine. Just need a little more time to work out some kinks. Talked to a couple of players last night they said practice this week has been hellish for the O-line. I hope for a much better performance from them this week. To matt: I guess maybe I took a couple of things a little out of context and retorted my opinion, but I still don't think this is the proper method for coach bashing. My Mama always said if you can't say something good, don't say nothing at all. If you have a problem with hm talk to him give him some coaching tips I'm sure he'll take it to heart(insert sarcasm here)Don't take that the wrong way I'm not really trying to stir things up. I can remember a few times on here when folks were bashing coach ward for some of his play calling too. All I'm trying to say is give him a chance, lets see what he an this team are capable of before we start jumping to the conclusion that he's not right for the job. No matter what happens, I'm a Camden fan.. and that makes me a Blow fan. Go Lions!
  3. I'm embarrassed that I even read all the way through this thread. If you want to belittle the team and the coaching staff, by all means that is your right, but not in this format. The kids get on there and read this crap and see that you don't give them or their coaches a chance. You have a lot of talented sofomores and freshemen standing on the sideline and a few seeing regular playing time. I believe in this team and although I may not agree with everything coach Blow does I'm going to support him and this team. Coach Blow is not Coach Ward so don't expect him to be. I believe he's going to be fine, but he and this team need to find their identity and when they do we will see just what they are capable of.
  4. He quit several months ago! BTW Joey Dale will be cooking tonight before the game. Tailgaiting starts around, well now! He will have stuff ready around 5:30. Come on out and join us! Even the martin faithful are welcome to join in. See ya'll there! Go Lions!
  5. I hadn't heard that. Surely a coach wouldn't stoop so low... I'm sure it wasn't much of a setback though. Seems like last year our coaches had to drive all over the country for a game film too. I don't think that was SC though. If this is true I'm sure Coach Ward will remind the SC coaches of it. We have't scored over 48 so far this season.. It would be kinda nice to have at least one over 50.
  6. BP Machine - sorry about your experience at Camden and like every where you have the few who are disrespectful, but I assure you we don't condone that type of behavior. Sure we yell at the refs and mouth a little during the game, but when all is said and done its just a game and we all should have fun. I fully expect tonight to be much more competitive than most you Milan fans do. Our boys are ready for this match up. They have been waiting on this for a year. Good luck to all and hope for an injury free game! GO LIONS!
  7. I tend to think of it a little differently. Some of you may remember the 1998 NCAA National Championship Football Team from Tennessee. This team according to the coaching staff didn't have the talent that they had the year before, but they did something that that team could not do. The achieved more with lesser talent because they realized they could not acomplish their goal alone. They didn't put their faith in a few, they had to come together and work as one to be champions. Thats what Football is all about making that connection that joins each one together into a team. Sure you have to have talent too, but if one man takes off for one play that can end your season or make for a long trip back home. This teaches you a lot about life too. Sure you can be successful alone, but how much more enjoyable is it to share your success with others and help them be successful too. What one can achieve alone is imeasurable compared to what can be achieved as a team. Strength is in numbers.
  8. To add to what R. Combs said Camden will have to elimainate missed opportunities. In the Creek Wood game several times we had opportunities to change the momentum and take control of the game and we didn't. Those are the things that make a good team great. Camden has the abliity to play with anyone. They have one of the best coaching staffs in the area and they have a lot of speed in the backfield. The question is not can they beat Milan it is will they. Can they come out and hit on all cylinders, play four full quarters of football on offense and defense. Coach Ward has said all year long what those boys are capable of and that if they ever put it all together and play a complete game it will be fun to watch. I think Friday will be fun to watch! The boys are focused and ready. Lookout DaWgs the cats are takin' over! GO LIONS!
  9. According to what I heard he had surgery Saturday on his ankle. As far as the guy asking about Camden's offense they are a run oriented team.. no matter who the QB is, but they can throw when they need to. As with most competitive HS football teams they rely on defense to win games. If your opponent can't score they can't beat you. If you put up 35 ppg and and hold your opponent to one or two TD's your gonna win.
  10. StatPack you can listen to the game at wrjbradio.com. Now you get the Flash version of the game, and he tends to get a little excited at times, but he still gives a pretty good account of the game. I'll be rootin' for the lions tonight on my way down to oxford. Just hope I can figure out a way to hear the game on the road. I'm sure someone will keep me updated though. I'm not sure who said that Camden didn't mix it up enough, but in the last game against Westview I know we had one passing TD and I think there were two, but I guess we are pretty predictable... hmm. 5 different running backs, 3 or 4 recievers with 4 or 5 catches for about 100 yards each. Yeah thats sounds predictable to me.
  11. Good Luck Lions against the Westview Chargers. This is a better Westview Team than we played earlier in the season. Camden played a very good defensive game in that one, and they will have to play better this time around if they expect to win. Westview has got a lot of momentum behind them right now I only hope we can rise to the occasion. This would really be a good time for the Lions to get firing on all cylinders and play a full four quarters of football on both sides of the ball. This should be one heck of a game!
  12. Yes, Just got word from one of the ball players that the game is tonight. Pass The Word!
  13. I see what your saying. I suspect they will fix it, but you never know about the TSSAA.
  14. Per the bracket on TSSAA.ORG: Cumberland Gap is #8 seed, South Greene is #6 seed, and West Greene is #7 seed. At least thats how the bracket I got looks.
