  1. Ah, yes... I see this is becoming more of a common occurance. The last game I was at (due to time constraints) was the 2005 region semi-final at LA where the entire JC student section (30+ people, myself included, but I graduated a year before) was thrown out of the gym. I'm sure there are those familiar with the incident. For those that aren't, we had been doing the typical student section thing when someone called a timeout with less than two minutes in the game. The ref turned around and stared down the crowd, which I believe is a major no-no. One student said something they should not have (and yes, it was uncalled for) so the ref kicked out the entire section. Mind you it was probably in the 30's to 40's outside, and instead of being allowed to stand in the commons area/lunchroom/whatever you call it, we were escorted outside the school and were not allowed to go back in for anything. Mind you there were probably kids whose parents were inside, and I would have been INFURIATED if I were a parent. I'm sure TSSAA got many many complaints about it (I know I filed one). I have heard the ref in particular was removed, but I do not know for sure. Basically, referees are paid to ref a game, not to be the police of the gym.
  2. 104.7 will probably also have them as long as they don't come into conflict with 7-AA games.
  3. Assuming Clarkrange wins their game against Westmoreland tomorrow, either Clarkrange or JC is going home on Wednesday. Any predictions? I believe JC is the favorite after defeating RBS, but can they hold it together against Clarkrange? Pukebags anyone?
  4. A game that I will finally get to go to! I'm gonna go with JC by 2, and I wouldn't be surprised if it went into overtime.
  5. Still have one problem... ...how to avoid playing a 7A team
  6. JC by 5. And unless Clarkrange steps it up, they might get knocked off by RBS ithey meet in district or region.
  7. Whoo hoo, my first post of the season Um, JC by 9 o.O
  8. Yeah Queenie..I was there on Friday to get my shirt and you weren't there Made me sad.
  9. Ooo...that's low bringing up the region loss. All I can say is that unless you were there and saw the game, you ain't got a leg to stand on. The past is the past. Bringing up wins, losses, etc. etc. from nearly two years ago has absolutely no effect on what's going to happen come November. Personally, I hate these threads after the championships and everyone is like, "Yeah, you may have won this year, but we won last year!" or "We'll win next year!". Goodness.
  10. Some of them seem to think we won't even make it past the first round of district. We shall see.
  11. Maybe so. I have only seen Brandi Brown play, but a friend saw Bellamy play and said she was pretty awesome, but I have to say after watching Brown in York vs. Smith..I'm a believer.
  12. Do I know you? If you are who I think you are..well, I just hope I'm wrong.
  13. Never...in a million years did I think I would say this.. Westview all the way.
  14. Did he eject an entire student section? Ours did on Wednesday.
  15. tennisguy, I wish your 8AA teams the best of luck in sub-state and state. I gotta say that I disagree with them being there after tonight's performances, but they are there, and there's no use in crying over spilled milk. I hope they do their best.
  16. No, that post is only to those who rave about how 13AA owns 7AA, etc. etc. I don't see you calling THEM ignorant. It's basketball. Any team can beat any other team on a given night, given certain conditions.
  17. First off, before I begin my rant, I have a few props and slops to give. Props to the Lady Blue Devils of Jackson County firstmost. You girls played absolutely awesome against what seemed to be unbeatable odds. You surprised many from other teams, but we know what you were capable of, are capable of, and will be capable of. Props to Coach Jim Brown. You are an awesome coach who has taken this team beyond what anybody would have dreamed of. I'm sure there are schools out there who would love to grab you who probably pay a lot more money than you receive now, and yet you stay where your roots are. I admire that. Props to the Fans who got ejected (and yes, I was one of them). To walk out with a smile on your face and laughing (I was one of them laughing ) is again admirable. Props to the Upperman Lady Bees. You girls played a very good season as well and deserve to go further then what you did. Slops to any 13AA fan who opens his or her mouth about the absence of 7AA. Unless you were there at the games, perhaps you have a right to speak. Otherwise. you don't. I never said a word about 7AA dominating 13AA and I don't expect any replies to this particular post mentioning it. I wish you the best of luck in sub-state and state. Props to those of you that don't say anything. Slops to the Referees for tonight's UHS/Hume Fogg and JCHS/Lipscomb games. This year has surprised me in how incompetent some referees are, but tonight absolutely takes the cake. Calls during the first half were going for JCHS, and then against the second. To call a technical on Coach Jim Brown, and not on the Lipscomb coach who was doing far more than what Brown was doing was absurd and idiotic. And then to eject an entire student section because of two or three people...words can't describe what I feel about that. All I can say is that for the benefit of TSSAA and all participating schools, if you fall into this category, go back to your day job, because it's people like you that frustrates the fans and causes incidents like this to happen. I think that about covers it. I guess I covered my rant in my slops to the referees. Cudos to the fans tonight. Oh, and Chuck, I'll be waiting for that nomination on the best student section. Bobby
  18. My goodness you people. Every single ONE of you that have been involved in this should be ashamed of yourselves. Because at the end of the day, it's not about you, our towns, it's about the GIRLS who play. It seems some have forgotton this.
  19. *cough* If ANYONE ELSE steals my "...not hockey" cheer, I am going to scream so freaking loud, lol.
  20. I agree with bob. Brown would easily get MVP if she had played the entire season, and if she played the entire season, I believe York would be tied with Upperman for first. However, her being out for over half the season complicates things a bit. If you shut out Mead, Upperman still does good. If you shut out Chumney, things just go downhill for Smith. So what does this prove? Well, it sure doesn't help in the search for the MVP for 7AA thumb . But it does prove that you can have the best player in the state but if you don't have the support to back her up, it's futile.
  21. Personally, I think the choice in White Co was poor. The only two places that are actually close to it are Cannon and DeKalb Co's. Everyone else has to drive. It's too bad the TTU gym is being used, but what about say, Cookeville? Oh, well..just me whining about driving to Sparta...
  22. Where's the indiscrepency coming up at then? Not trying to beat a dead horse, just confused as to how the score got to where its at..
  23. Had a friend at the game who txted me when it was over saying it was 46-36. And I heard the same score on the radio while listening to the LA/DeKalb Co game.
