  1. Interesting point about the fields. With all the rain it will probably be slow and slower? Doesn't a team have to finish in 5th or better to even get a shot to play in the District Tournament? #2 plays #3 and #1 plays winner of #4 vs #5? If so, that makes this upcoming series really big. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  2. Only 7 miles short of $100. /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" /> Doesn't prove or disprove anything. Just trying to get a quick $100. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> PS: 2 Families represented.
  3. Standings District 10AA Team W L Marshall County 8 0 Page 6 2 Loretto 5 3 Giles County 4 3 Lewis County 3 4 Spring Hill 3 5 Hickman County 1 6 East Hickman 0 7 With everyone having 6-7 District games left, who's going to end up in the Top 2 spots? /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  4. I know of 3 that live in Columbia and go to Lipscomb, but it's only like 43 miles from their house. Don't guess I get the $100? PS: All 3 play sports.
  5. Hey Osk, You animal! When is your little brother going to start adding on the weight? lol /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  6. Trouble? Who cares. They are a joke. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> This year, according to their schedule, they are only going to play at 6 games. That's 60%, which is a failing grade. They don't even where our colors most of the time.
  7. I was actually talking with a few coaches the other day about something like this. During the summer, baseball players have all types of opportunities to play; during summer, basketball players have all types of opportunities to play. Football really doesn't have much opportunity for competition outside of normal games and scrimmages, so I like the concept. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  8. Aaron Oski was the Coach last year and did a great job! Went 6-2 I think and won their conference. He was a volunteer, but he was promised some payment for his services. After the season was over they (administration) decided they weren't going to pay him. There is no ad on TSSAA website advertising an opening, etc. The Admin at EA Cox is a complete joke! Here it is April and nothing done, as far as I know, for getting a football coach! /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

    Bats

What's wrong with the bat he's been swinging? If it's cracked or something, then it needs replacing. It's not so much the bow and arrow; but the indian. My son doesn't use the most expensive bat, but is at the top of his team in batting averages and homeruns hit. Alot of time in batting cages. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  10. Yawn..............................? Maybe all the Alcoa fans could just stay at home and get some sleep for the Spring Hill game then.LOL. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  11. It takes all three. Motivation, Equipment and Room to work out. You can have the best facilities and w/o motivation it means nothing. If the motivation is there and the facilities/equipment is there, then you will progress more than someone who doesn't have all 3. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

    Furndraising

    That's a great idea!! Thanks, /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" />
  13. Not sure what offense they are going to run, but it is changing from what they've done in the recent past. You are right about the 80's and 90's. Playoffs just about every year, with a State Championship in '86. As far as the coach accepting and then leaving, that was a bad deal. Coach DeLaughter, and assistant at McCallie was offered the job, accepted the job, was announced at half-time of a basketball game, met with the players privately and then quit a week later? I really think that all happened so Coach Scharsch could get the job. All is well that ends well! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  14. Looks like some real "home field" advantages. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  15. This topic/link was set up as an unofficial poll to just vote on a public/priviate split. I thought there was already a link to discuss your position either way? /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  16. I don't know, but it's not right what's happening there. You are correct. It seems every year there's a new coach for football. I think it's the Cox school administration not really giving a hoot about football and it's the Maury County school officials not caring either. Look at Whitthorne. They have a stable coaching staff? Why don't they get that in place at EA Cox? /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
  17. Betterment of the facilities is probably important. It will be easier to do when they start winning. That will get the community more involved and the money will be easier to raise. Spring Hill appears to be good area and is growing, so hopefully the team will improve and grow as well. Good Luck to Spring Hill this year. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  18. In my 15+ years of umpiring I think I've seen it all and yep I've called games with the "cheerleading" teams. Personally I don't like it, but as long as they don't violate any rules (rule book).........?
  19. I wouldn't be throwing the pitcher out "for taking care of Bush League play"; I'd be throwing him out; in my judgement, for intentionally throwing at a batter. If the catcher wants to miss a FB and let me take one in the gut; so be it. That's about as "Bush League" as it gets. However, I'd rather take one in the gut, than for a player to get severly injured. If that pitcher is so good and in such control of his pitches; why not just strike out about 9-12 batters in a row. That would probably quieten them down?

    Bad Mouthing?

Why do hitters need intro music anyway? I think it really distracts from the game. Between innings, OK. Before the game, OK.
  21. As an umpire, if in my judgement, a pitcher intentionally throws at a batter, he will be ejected immediately.

    Bad Mouthing?

    I read the words on Page 1. I or mine wouldn't want to be like him!! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  23. Spring Hill loses to Lewis Co. I really thought SH would perform better this year. I think this makes them 0-3 in District play. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
