  1. Personally, I'd love to see a repeat of last year's game. Franklin has the capability and ability to hand the Raptors another loss. The team is steadily improving... especially the O line!... along with D line, special teams, running backs, etc. The fire is burning in the Franklin players and they won't let it burn out. Thankfully, I have some positive reports to give to my son (who I haven't talked to in 3 weeks) although I wish I had some "press" coverage to mail to him. He's been receiving Titan articles and lots of UT articles from the papers, but there still is a "blackout" on FHS Rebel news in the Review Appeal, Tenessean, and Williamson Herald ... can't understand this! If the Army will let him call today I'll have losts of good news to give him. Huskergymnast33, FYI : Andrew's lost 38 pounds, earned his sharpshooter w/ rifle, passed all PT tests, has learned a new "lingo" I'm trying to understand, and has become quite a "man". I am so very proud of him! If all goes well, he'll graduate from BCT on November 20 and will be home on Thanksgiving.
  2. Thanks for the info. Just heard the same thing from someone else. longhornshookem needs to be careful about how they post stuff. The way they put it, it sounded like Keylo had died. We were freaking out until we got your reply. If someone is going to put what they did, they really should say what the problem was. Not leave people hanging. Not everyone went to the game and you can't find a lick of coverage about the Rebels on the Tennessean anywhere? What is up with the Tennessean's news blackout on the Rebels anyway? In 2006, when our son was a sophomore, the Rebels were in the paper every week. Since then there probably hasn't been a handful of stories about FHS in the Tennessean. What, did the sports editor go to Brentwood or something? Someone needs to start a letter writing campaign to the Tennessean about FHS never being in the paper anymore. You would think that the FHS vs. HHS game would get some press. But, heck no, not a word about it. Yep! The Tennessean is definitely not covering the Franklin games. Last year my son played for FHS and we got "a little" press... on a team that went to State. This year my son's in the Army and I try to find info about the games to send to him. But the Tennessean, Review Appeal and Williamson Hearald aren't giving any press to the FHS team... I can't even get the scores! Now that's pathetic. I can read about BHS, CHS IHS, etc. but not a word about Franklin HS. But luckily I can count on Coach T to give me info to send off to my son!
  3. Gotta say kingz has taunted Franklin all season but then the best teams get that put to 'em! Yet the Rebels have stayed focused, played their game, and continued to win. In the end.... kingz will be silenced! WE BELIEVE!
  4. Beg to differ...lot of talent still on the team and Coach Mat and his coaching team are amazing at bringing the players' best out! I would imagine those juniors and sophomore who are anxious to play are already hitting that brand new, well equipped weight room! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  5. Granted they don't get the big bucks, but a quality football team should be able to find a quality faculty member at the school or quality member of the community who would willingly agree to announce the games and be objective in giving credit to both teams like the QUALITY ANNOUNCER AT FRANKLIN HIGH SCHOOL! But then I guess FRANKLIN IS QUALITY ALL AROUND!!! GO REBELS!
  6. The PA announcer at Brentwood High School wins the award for most obnixious! It made the win even sweeter....just to shut him up! Wish TSSAA would set some guidelines for the PA announcers .... home field advantage from a PA announcer... get real!
  7. There is not a Rebel player or fan who doesn't give respect to Oakland. Franklin has fought hard this year and stayed focused on the game each week. Now it is time to focus on the championship game and bringing the "gold" to FHS! Rebel players and fans - hey, even Williamson County - want this win! They'll bring it all on Saturday. The Patriots will play to win also, but the Rebel team - defense and offense - will take the gold! Are there other games being played before the 7pm kickoff of Rebels vs Patriots?
  8. I can guarantee you that neither the Rebel players nor their parents/relatives/fans, etc. are looking a week ahead. The Rebels have been successful because they have taken it one game at a time -focused on the game coming up! WE BELIEVE! We believe that we can give our all on the field and come out victorious! Franklin's strength lies in the concept of "team" with seniors who have led with faith in their coaches and in their fellow team players. Each player does his job/assignment on the field. Yes, we are human, but but or "sub conscious" remains focused on this week's game. We have plenty of time to think about next week after tonight! GO REBELS!
  9. From what I've heard and read, WS is a team to be respected on both sides of the line, but they will meet a team that is well respected on both sides. Franklin's advantage is the skill of the O line to open holes for RBs and give the QB time to pass, QB who does it all and reads defenses well, receivers who outrun their coverage, and let's not forget a Defense that is tough to score on - either run or pass. This Rebel team will win Friday! Not cocky; we just believe in our team! FHS 21 WS 7 -maybe
  10. Thought the screen name was Nebraska fan - just didn't know you were a student...you appear well informed! Absolutely not refers to "Can you ask for anything more?" Absolutely not means ...nope I can't ask for anything more than to watch this potentially exciting game! This will the best! Sorry if I confused you...I'm just so darned excited about this game! I WANT to see the Rebels avenge last year's game...I want the Rebels to focus only one game at a time! I get hoarse at every game yelling my fool head off for the Rebels! I can't eat the day of a game due to nervous stomach... I watch my son play his heart out every second of the game... and pray for no injuries on either team. I sure wish you could be here in person to see the intensity, dedication, determination, and "grit" these players show every time they walk out on the field! I am eternally grateful to the coaches for bringing the"best" out of each player - inspiring them every day to give their all at the games while showing good sportsmanship. And I thank God my son has coaches who have instilled in him his responsibility as a senior to show leadership and "team" on the field and in life. Guess I went overboard! Thanks for starting the thread early...I got to step on my soapbox! I'm off for now!
  11. Wrong... the pass is necessary...its called a balanced attack. I know Combos, Walkup, Jackson, "Texas," Maurer, Shelton, and Roan, can open the holes for Keylo and Alex, but the offensive line also can hold off defensive opponents allowing Nichols to pick his targets - Eaton, Starnes, Sellers, or whoever else is open. Brentwood will be tough enough and a balanced attack - keeping the Bruins guessing where we will strike next - is the way to win! Rebels, stay focused as a TEAM and keep your arsenial full of possibilities/opportunities!
  12. Absolutely not...so are you coming to see this game?
  13. Kurt, he "ran his mouth" in past and hasn't learned an ounce respect yet. Tim has no "class"; he just proved it beyond any doubt! Thanks for all you did for FHS! You were a positive role model for all the young men you associated with. If this year's Franklin Rebel players show "heart" and " a strong sense of team" know you were a part of developing this!
  14. Tasteless, low blow...uncalled for comments! K. Jones is a wonderful person and coach. Tacky comments, Tim. Hide your head in shame.
  15. Didn't happen... Ravenwood is a good team...they defeated Brentwood tonight without their star player...Brentwood was out coached by the Raptors!
  16. Nope....not going to see Brentwood in Murfreesboro this December...Ravenwood beat them and Franklin beat Ravenwood Who is the only undefeated team? Franklin... they'll take Brentwood in two weeks...and with the way the offense and defense of Franklin is playing, Franklin 35 Brentwood 14
  17. Of course it was quiet on the indy side....they had NOTHING to cheer about! Rebel defense stopped them in the first three quarters consistently- and the Rebel offensive linemen open holes on both left and right side easily! I can see how Centennial beat them... indy has a long season ahead of them. The Rebel fans had it right when they chanted "this is boring"... "we can't hear you"... "chicken nuggets"... etc. Congratulations to the Rebel football team and coaches for another well executed offensive and defensive game! Now, on to Brentwood (who were defeated by Ravenwood tonight!) ...
  18. contender for what? playing blackman?
  19. FHS doesn't need a reverse....they just keep pounding the ball through the holes in the line created by those talented OL men! "Built Ford Tough" and Keylo Lee will continue to make 6-8 yards per run and Nichols has 5-8 seconds to find his receivers down field...now that's great football! Great passing tonight and don't forget the strength of the Rebel defensive line!
  20. Hey, don't get too cocky too soon. The Cougars are playing great ball right now...showing confidence in themselves and under the leadership of Coach Mat, but they still have some tough games to play against strong teams. These teams won't underestimate Centennial, but can the Cougars keep up with injuries, especially Drew Kelly, haunting them?
  21. yep! indy is in for a really tough time next week with Franklin! The Rebels have proven themselves three weeks in a row and they are not stopping now! Congrats to Coach Mat and the entire CHS team! I was hoping you guys would put indy under. Quoting CHS20007: "Wo-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o!
  22. What a game! The O line for Franklin gave Nichols time to throw and opened gaps/holes for "Ford, Built Tough," and the other runningbacks to run through. Left side/right side/middle - it didn't matter! Great job, Combos, Walkup! The Defense easily handled everything Ravenwood could attempt! Definitely a one-sided game - Franklin side! Rain and wet ground couldn't stop the talented Rebels from "having their way" with the ripped-up Raptors! Franklin is well disciplined, well conditioned, and well coached! The outstanding support from the FHS students is a pleasure to watch!
  23. I am also a rebel parent with a player.......Great job indy! You came from behind and showed the caliber team you are! Good luck in the 'Boro! I believe in destiny...bring it home to Williamson County!
  24. 65, glad to hear youre okay. Saw the game and I was impressed by franklin's fighting back to tie the score after a miserable first half. You got in a great block, helping #5 to score and came back the next series after your injury. Youre a strong player on the Oline and franklin played hard, but Indy had the game in the end. When emotions run high....and for this game I'm talking way high...it can get out of control...apology accepted and understood. But what was it with that Indy announcer? obnoxious just doesn't cover it! /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> And the music after the game as the teams were meeting with their coaches? Has Indy always done this? /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />
