  1. First i think it was a late hit because i am a farragut fan, secondly because the hit was about 2-3 seconds after the ball was gone, third because he came him with his helmet, and fourth he did not even try to let up like the other 2 linemen after he saw the ball was gone, fifthly i have seen plenty of late hits called in college football this year that have been much less of a hit than that.
  2. Congratulations to Ooltewah for being a better team last night. They appear to be a different team at home and I think they have great support from their fans and they helped them keep momentum. Whats their home record? No one said Farraguts O line did a good job, but they still gave it all they had, what else can you do against the 4-6 men Ooltewah brought every play. The O line is definetly their weakness and if its torn up like that the rest of the offense will fall apart as well. They need to really step it up and work harder at their practices to get better as a unit, or someone needs to clone Will Jackson 4 times. Farraguts defense was strong in the begining and I think they were very capable of stopping the Ooltewah offense but the short field and the way the momentum just kept building up for Ooltewah because of their defense was too much to handle. Some of the defensive players were just out matched but i liked that the defense didnt give up though once it was clear it was over though #46, 33 and that noseguard 51 were getting after it the whole game. Ooltewah was very good at controlling the ball and the clock once they had a good lead. They didn't do anything special just went out there executed some solid basic football and beat the other team. They have very good blocking on offense and size as well against farraguts undersized defense they were able to get 3-4 yards a play untouched. They werent unstoppable to any extent but they had momentum and a rythymn and thats all you need to move the ball. Ooltewahs defense proves that defense wins games. That set of D lineman and linebackers are a solid group not just 36 or 67 all of them. As far as the hit goes i think it was late about 2-3 seconds not so much helmet to helmet but helmet to chin, the quarterback almost bit through his lip. It was not anything intentional just aggressive but i feel it deserved a flag. As for coach courtneys performance, when you wanna stick up for your team you go all out if you have too and football is a very emotional game and thats just what happens. And i think the real reason the flag was thrown is because the back judge didnt actually see the hit, he had already moved a little infront of the quarterback after the ball was thrown. When these teams meet again in the playoffs i really do believe Farragut will be ready for them and play a much better game because i know they are capable of beating Ooltewah, just as much as Ooltewah is capable of beating Farragut again. You never know what is going to happen when two very talented teams in football meet the game could be close or another blow out maybe the reverse result you just never know. I hope my post does not incurr and further hostility between the two sides because that is not my intent. I am just saying what i thought about the game thats all. I think now we should all move on to the next week and I look forward to these two teams meeting again in the playoffs.
  3. Govman i think you underestimate your team a little. Just because a team is winless and young and injury depleted doesnt mean they stink at football. They showed they were very capable of hanging in their with some of the toughest teams in the schedule so far. Like CU06 said they still have some talent and a strong defense which they have displayed in the past 5 games. It seems like offensive mistakes and some problems with execution just prevents them from being able to score all the points that they are capable of. Their record most certainly misrepresents their ability, and i think you owe your team a little more credit. I wont ridiculing you for what you said about Farragut because what you said is pretty fair and true. Farragut is just one of those teams that needs some motivation for games especially coming off a bye week. But how bout that kicker #12 Brad Galloway with that Pontiac Game Changing Performance. Im pretty sure Farragut didn't purposely run a direct snap to the kicker, but that was some great effort that swung the momentum for Farragut and i think really secured the game. If WB had made the stop there who knows how the game would have turned out.
  4. I don't think Farragut will take William Blount lightly. They have had two weeks to prepare and they know the importance of regions games after that scare with the McMinn game the offense has realized they need to shape up.
  5. I believe this thread's title is incorrect. It should be called William Blount @ Maryville and Random Ooltewah People Talking about Ooltewah.
  6. I wish that by some stroke of divine interference William Blount wins just because i feel bad about all the bad luck they have had so far.
  7. Admirals offense was self-destructing all game, thus; they struggled to drive down the field like they are used to. The running game with Purty took care of it though. As far as the defense goes they were playing extremely well especially when their offense was giving great field position away to McMinn. McMinns offense was pretty much unproductive for the most part except for 2 or 3 big plays. So if anything it was a "difficult" win because im sure the admirals knew their defense wasnt gonna give up much had the offense not given the McMinn such great opportunities they wouldnt have scored at all. I must say over all though McMinn played a very good game and especially there defense and that quarterback, he was a tough kid for getting up after getting hit almost every play.
  8. I think McMinns defense is capable of making some good plays and holding Farragut down to maybe 4 touchdowns, but from what ive seen of them their offense struggles to sustain drives and makes a lot of mistakes cause turnovers and just bad situations. Consequently their defense gets worn out in the late game and can't hold up as well. I look to it to be a close game in the first half though Farragut 35(or more) McMinn 10(at most)
  9. Scoot i recall you telling me Heritage is not dirty, just physical. Now you say that there is a point made about Heritage playing dirty. Playing hard and aggressive is one thing. When your down by 40 and you dont accept that your beat and your team resorts to dirty cheap shot football it makes you look even worse. When you know you are going to lose the most respectable thing to do is to keep playing clean and hard and try to lose with some pride. As far as the fans jeering goes yes i was referring to the student section. You say theres two sides to every story, which there is, but when you winning by 40 you generally arent the one starting a cheap shot fight.
  10. Maryville should play Farragut in a real game. I think that would be one of the most interesting and exciting games of the year. Wish Maryville was 5A
  11. Finally someone who agrees with me. Im curious did any of heritage's Offensive lineman throw any shots to the nuts of Maryville's Defense. Or did there fans chant jeers targeting a player's father's job?
  12. Bearden should reconsider their offense. I think they would be better off running a veer or wing T based on the personnal they have but i wouldnt let that quarterback throw the ball too much if I were them. Simply put, they are just weak in their depth and experience so this year is going to be a rough year all about rebuilding. I look forward to them being much better as a team next year.
  13. Well Farraguts defense were the ones who caused the interceptions. And oh yea Farragut did have somewhat of a passing game from quarterback Reese Browning who through only 13 completions........for 305 yards.
  14. Not bashing on devrin...he ran great....especially for someone with not much help from an O line.....also a quarterback who throws an interception everytime he feels pressure, but I think it was very smart of Farragut to reimpliment the pooch kick from last year against a kid who in the open field is exteremely shaky and hard to tackle. His 20 carries for 120 yards were impressive, but Bearden needs something else on offense to support him. They put way to much pressure on him to make literally every yard on his own. As for Farragut the defensive line did a great job putting pressure on the quarterback every passing play which led to the 5 interceptions that really shut down beardens offense. The DBs did a great job playing coverage and trusting the rest of the defense to give them opportunities. As far as the run defense goes they made some good stops here and there but on a wet field tackling a kid like Devrin requires them to break down and focus on making sure tackles which they failed to do in a lot of cases giving up about 6 yards/carry.
  15. I kept trying to tell you all you gotta do is switch Farragut and Ooltewah and it will be 100% correct
  16. Bearden will get a boost from all the hype for this game but its not enough for their inexperienced team. They put too much pressure on their soon to be star running back to win them the game. Hes capable of busting a big play but they cant depend on him to carry the offense. Farraguts ability to make big passes and keep sustained drives for points is twice that of Bearden. Farraguts defense is pretty solid, im not saying they wont give up anything, but if Bearden doesnt vary their offense they will not be able to put more than 2 touchdowns on the board if that.
  17. Beardens Young and inexperienced team isn't going to have any idea whats coming plain and simple they will be overwhelmed and destroyed. There will be blood.
  18. Farragut wins handily 42-6. Heritage continues a reputation of being a bunch of dirty playing, bad mouthing, class less hicks.
  19. Dont care how god-like devrin young is. Farragut is out for blood this coming friday, and Devrin will not save them from the whooping they are gonna have put on them.
  20. Lol politics........the only thing that should be posted on this forum is that Farragut will be number 1 over Ooltewah....and thats 100% correct
  21. After that unbearable loss in the post season last year be sure that Farragut is going to utterly destroy Bearden
  22. I agree for the most part. The only thing i would change would be swapping Farragut and Ooltewah
