  1. 1-0 in 10 , Who wants it more?
  2. Did they get their game in? Anyone got a score?
  3. I've worked a few of your games this year and have really enjoyed watching you play. The loss of any member of the softball community is hard to take but it's especially hard when it's one of our moms. When we're between the fences we try to be all business, but you should know that we umps do have hearts and do care about you and your families. God bless you and keep you and know that you are in our prayers.
  4. Both coaches had agreed before the game to end the varsity contest at 5 innings and to play the J. V. in the last 2 innings. Upperman only had 11 players and left their pitcher, who was throwing well, on the mound. The crash was the result of 2 players, playing hard. I don't think either of them saw it comeing. My sympathies to anyone hurt on the play.
  5. Don't recall the exact score but Trousdale won in Double overtime.
  6. The score is right 3-1, but it was Warren Co. that lost to the Lady Cavs. last night. Both teams played well but C'ville had a few more base runners and made the most of them. Miss "O" had a great night both behind and at the plate. Thanks to all players and coaches for a super game.
  7. Don't forget about those signs and banners on the fence. Try and get at least the price of a new bat for each of them. Our Booster club does tailgate parties at each football home game and has a different non-revenue sport host each event. The booster club supplies the burgers and grill and the n.r. sport brings the side dishes and paper and plastic ware and keeps all the donations they collect. Everyone eats well and the total sports community gets to meet and interact. Go Big Blue!

    I need help

There's a series of video tapes, cds and books offered through softball.com the ASA site. They're divided into various skill levels and cost about $20 each. Other topics include hitting, defence and strategy. Check it out and good luck.
  9. Bunt! If the ump isn't calling balls on the high pitches he probably isn't going to have a problem with being up in the box (or even out of the box). If the corners come in, slap or chop (short swing for contact). And remember it never hurts to bring a biscuit for the umps seeing eye dog.
  10. We will all miss Coach Duff. His knowlege of the game and his determination and dedication to softball and his players has been an inspiration to anyone who has played for him, played against him or officiated his games. He is a class act all the way and I wish him all the best in whatever he decides to do next.
  11. In a chess match between two seasoned 7-AAA coaches they each sacrificed their queens and the game came down to free throws and ball control. Way to go Big Blue!
  12. Great basketball this week by the Lady Blue Devils !!! You showed determination, poise and skill and have a good chance of doing well in the District tournament if you continue to work hard. GO BIG BLUE.
  13. Sorry to here Sarah is injured. Our prayers are with her and we hope she is able to play next week against Lebanon. Was this wreck caused by the same girl that was ejected from the Blackman v. Lebanon game for throwing a punch? I heard she was pitched last year for the same sort of crap. The game is rough enough without the none basketball cheap stuff.
  14. The Lebanon Lady Blue Devils and their parents are saddened to here that Leann was hurt in our game on the 14th. She had a great game that night and was a big part of their 1 point victory. We'll miss her as a rival H.S. player and as a member of the State Champion 15U AAU Tn Elite. Our prayers are with Leann and her family for a complete and speedy recovery.
  15. The Oakland v. Cookeville game will be a scoreing battle between Webb and Taylor. The Cavs are coming off a W over Jackson, the Pats lost to Blackman in the Smyrna Christmas Tourney. Coach Mindy finds a way to stop Webb and the Cavs hold on for a close win. In other district play, Lebanon upsets White and Riverdale takes care of Blackman. Good luck and God bless all our players.
  16. Let's not forget that most of these A and AA schools step up and take a swing at the Region 4-AAA big dogs when their not fighting with each other. Go to any 7-AA vs. 7-AAA game and I'll say you'll get your money's worth.
  17. Katie, I hope you and your folks read these posts and they give you some of the hope, determination and patience to recover from this injury. We loved having you as a teammate during your time with the TN Elite and still follow your progress as a fellow region 4AAA player. Get well soon! Amanda, Susan, Amandadad and all the Lebanon crew.
  18. The Lebanon Lady Blue Devils decided to make bear meat the main course at this years Christmas dinner. Hosting their Christmas tournament the Devilettes were rude to cross county rivals Mt. Juliet on Thursday and served them a 29-27 loss. It's the first win for a Lebanon girls' team over MJ since 1997. On Friday the Lady Blue changed from the domestic pounded bear meat to exotic imported smoked Bearettes from Bradley Central with Kelly Hallums setting the gym on fire with 5 for 6 shooting from three-point land. Lebanon is off to a great start this season 8-1. Each of the starters; Amanda Wilbert, Ashley Simonis, Kelly Hallums, Megan Thompson and Kristen Kirkland have stepped up to either lead the scoring or make the critical stop or hit the last shot to get the win. They are playing as a team. Great start to the season Blue!!! Keep working hard and good things will happen.
  19. If "Big Al" is still with the Hoopstars it could be real trouble for the Sports Shop. At 6'8"+ there isn't anyone on the Sports Shop who can match up with her. Plus it's only a three team pool. Two loses or a bad point spred could send them home early. Good Luck to all the Tennessee Teams. See You in Texas.
  20. At the end of the day on Sunday for the 16's it was 1. Shelbyville Nike 2. Mustangs 3. Elite 4. Top Guns The top 3 go to the nationals! This was a great weekend of basketball and if you'd like to see more come to Lebanon next weekend for the 14's and 15's.
