  1. agree with your assessment except for number of players. More like 50-60 including freshmen.
  2. strong scrimmage game for sure. Running back for Kenwood is a stud and ran for 3 early td's against us, the we hunker'd down and did well on defense. Offense did well, good line play and back play, few fumbles that slowed us down as well. Passed ball well. Overall, good end to spring practice w/ scrimmage win. Reveals to us things we always need to work on - limit fumbles, be physical, and compete. If we continue to take care of these things, we'll be alright.
  3. Overall we looked good. Started little slow in 1st series but did well afterwards. good line play and backs ran hard. fumbled a few, threw ball well. several players out due to baseball/soccer/injuries.
  4. Actually 5 turnovers. 3 lost fumbles (6 total fumbles) and 2 turnovers on downs.
  5. Wrong team. Everybody knows UC is not like that. There were no stickers on the tv in UC. Don't know about dresdens dressing room. Wasn't there. Don't make stuff up.
  6. Wrong team. No stickers on tv in UC. Don't know anything about what happened in dressing room in Dresden. Anyway, everybody knows UC is not like that.
  7. Congrats to both teams for a fine year. Trenton will have a handful next week though but good luck. As cactus said, stay classy and be better/ represent better.
  8. Yep, in the way they handle this specific player. Proof is in the pudding. If the coach had done what he should have been done, Trenton might have less wins, but more integrity. Wins are great, but life lessons are what is important. Perception is reality.
  9. Perception is reality. Instead of discussing the actual Trenton / Dresden game, this specific player, although very talented, is once again a distraction. Bad decisions - no matter how many he continues to habitually make, are learning opportunities - not only for him, but for his handlers as well. Bad decisions have consequences as well, no only for him, but for his handlers as well. Instead of talking about the up and coming game, he, as well as his handlers, are an embarrassment. I'm not faulting your team, we lost the game to a good, opportunistic Trenton team. Trenton is talented, and it took a talented team to beat us (UC) The loss hurts. As Coach Bowling says " pain is weakness leaving the body" Through the pain of defeat, we will be stronger.
  10. Answers: 1. Visitors dressing room is UC baseball team locker room attached to field house. Has been the visitors locking room ever since the building was built in 80's. 2. TV is for the baseball team. No trouble with honest kids who take pride in who they are and what they are doing. In all the years, no other visiting team has messed with the tv. 3. TV is off. No body in field house during school - they are in class 4. No video surveillance cameras in locker rooms. Video and pictures came from players.
  11. In Union City, apparently you need to hide your tv's.
  12. UC paper doesn't make an all WEST TN dandy dozen or regional coverage type of persona. UC paper covers NW TN (hence it's website). Each NW TN not in Obion County still gets a summary of the game with important stats. Our paper does an excellent job of covering local sports and events. Just expect better out of a big city paper.
  13. Visitors dressing room for football doubles as the UC baseball locker room. He is actually on top of a counter/locker, with his cleats, pads and jersey on (trenton players have their names on the jerseys) with both hands pulling the tv off the wall. several other pictures as well with different views as well. Where are the Trenton coaches? vandalism is what I would call it. This is not exaggeration, this is the truth.
  14. settle down your shock. Sometimes people have other things to do that have higher priority than have a johnny on the spot immediate response to a statement. Thanks for having Brandon share his perspective. Always enjoy your show and Brandon's articles in the Jackson Sun. As previously stated, just wish UC and Obion County mentioned more.
  15. Many have tried but we do not get a response. Maybe you could ask in private. If they truly cover the area news, and we are in their area, should be a no brainier to cover us or mention us as well. Thanks.
  16. When you have Brandon Shields from the Jackson Sun with you, why don't you ask him on the air why Jackson Sun does not cover UC games. Only mentioning in the paper is when we play a game against one of their dandy dozens. They did not mention Jamison Blackwell as a West TN player to be named a Mr Football finalist when they mentioned everyone else. . If they say we are not in their coverage area (we are actually closer to Jackson than some other teams), then Jackson Sun needs to quit sending their paper to UC for circulation. Thanks for allowing us to vent. Frustrating.
  17. I expect a physical game. Key for UC will be Trenton qb Malone containment during scrambles and protecting against the deep pass. When UC gets out there on the field, competes, plays physical, and limit fumbles, we'll be hard to handle.
  18. Crump Stadium is on the Memphis Central High School campus located right behind Methodist University Hospital.
  19. If you are an obion county resident, you can go to union city, and vice versa, you can go to obion central or south Fulton. All public schools, so no charge.
  20. Not unrealistic, just meeting goals set, agendas fulfilled, just stating the facts. Go to the school lobby and look at the trophy case listing every student in UC history that has made score of 30 or more
  21. UC is a single A public school with great public support. Just like Huntingdon and other surrounding school systems, we expect a lot in our school system. We have a lot of community pride in our school system, in both academics and athletics. We are blessed to be excelling in both.
  22. Success at UC on many levels, more importantly in academics. With 15% of this past year's graduating class scoring >30 on the ACT and the success of the magnet school, athletics small part of reason enrollment increased by 25 since last year. If you have a good product, you tend to attract people, especially on coach T.
  23. Nashville Christian School is in Nashville (pop close to a million), Memphis Mitchell is in Memphis (pop close to a million) both "open" enrollment - I guess they need to be in like 10a instead of 1a and 2a based upon this analysis. School classification according to Archie is based more upon city size and probably if you have a walmart or not than based upon actual school enrollment.
