Can we say some home town favoritism to LC. Wells is a good coach for where he's at. No other LC player should be even considered a top player. They might have a couple of kids that benefit from Hood's attention he draws from other defenses, but that is it. I would put Ryan Click from Maryville higher on the list. That kid can flat out do it all on the court.

Every Coach and Teacher must reapply for their job because of no child left behind. Don't let this fool you. Everyone should be back. This is going on at AE and Fulton.

Greeneville a few years ago were stacked. And Clinton has been stacked several times in the past ten years, but has been a little down the last couple. William Blount had some good tallent a fews back also. Sorry if I dont have specific dates, I'm just trying to use my memory.

I don't like blind draws at all. I think Region winners should get higher seeds, and they can figure out those seeds by records versus teams in their classification. Then the non region winners will do the same thing with the lower bracket seeding. Example a team is 18-1 in their classification and won their region will get the one seed and a team that is 17-2 and won their region will get the 2 seed. And countinue to do this down the line. This will also make the teams schedule more teams in their classification throughout the season.

Let me clarify, not all private school divisions are weak. Just the one Catholic had to get through to get to state. Brentwood Acad. is a powerhouse, in fact as I recall you all never came close to beating them when you played them 1 time a year. Middle and West Tennessee Private schools are very strong, just not East Tenn private schools. Sorry if I hurt your feelings, but its the truth.

Dont toot your horn too fast Catholic. 2 of those years was in weak Private School Division, and the 3rd year came when they went to public AA division, and still had recruited players on their team. Many of school could of done that under those circumstances. Now for Bearden, I am not sticking up for them, they do their fair share of recruiting players, and Jordan Rorex might be their next recruiting prospect. With that said, don't act like Catholic has done something that no one else has. Look at are teams like Fulton, AE, and Alcoa. They are regulars at the state tourney, and you don't see them on here tooting their horns about it. In fact their state tourney runs are completely legit.

I agree Wells is a great guy and kids love him, but he is not in the same league with the guys above. Hopefully one day, but not now. The list above pretty much wraps up the Knoxville area of best coaches.

I still wouldn't say they have been the best team in the region all year. But, all three teams in that region are excellent. It is a toss up on who was the best team through out the entire season. Congratulations to Oak Ridge on a great win and great coaching against a very talented Bearden team. Now go and make that win count, hope to see u at state.

I agree with Dale, AE will win this game. Unicoi has not seen a team this big and athletic all year. AE strength of schedule 5th, Unicoi strength of schedule 91st. It makes a difference when you play the big boys and learn how to battle. I wish them luck, because they will need a lot of it to get past the roadrunners.

Lenoir City got that cheer from their former football coaches. The coach that was before N. White and White (former Maryville Co. Players) taught that cheer to the students back in 00-01. They actually got to use that chant then because they had some good basketball teams under Mitchell when they were still in AA.

This isn't the same Alcoa team that we have seen in the past, but then again anything can happen in the region tourneys. AC will win this one close. AC +2

The play hard, but not together. If they decide to play inside out, then Stone wont win, if they play outside in, then stone will kill them. It is all in the guard play for carter. I feel Stone will win this one by 10+.

They beat AC early in the season, but AC beat them a few weeks later. Carter is a good tough team, but Stone should get some support from the AC fans. I have also heard nothing but good things about these two teams when they play each other. The AC fans have a ton of respect for Stone, and really appreciate what they are doing with their sports programs.

AC wins. Stone will make it a game, but the depth of AC will better the outcome, which seems to always happen in big games like this.

I know that AC has the district at their place, but I thought the region would be somewhere else. This was due to the fact they would be hosting some sort of middle school tourney there instead. This is what I thought I heard, but I might of dreamed it.

With all respect to coaches most of them try and keep a wrap on it the best they can. It is hard to keep up with what all of the ball players are doing off the court. Lots of areas have random drug testing in their schools. Administration does know that this occurs, but what can they do besides random drug tests. If they don't catch them in the act then there is nothing they can do, especially from a legal stand point. It is just a shame that our society has made it so easy to buy drugs. In fact if you ask students it is easier to buy drugs then beer. Until our society does a better job, especially parents keeping their kids under control, then there is nothing that schools can do.

Hey guys it is over now, get over it. Now you can move to the baseball thread and talk about the rivalry there. Good Luck to both teams in their district tourneys. Both of their respected districts will have the most competitive tourneys in this area.

The 10th spot should goto Sharp at AC he did show up to play for 3 games.

If Sharpe decides to play like a man and not a little boy then AC will when all games. But don't count on that happening too often.

The funny thing about comparing them to Dukes Cameron Crazies is they dont use profanity. In fact last time I was at Cameron Indoor there was a student that started cursing and another student corrected him and said if it continued then he would have to leave. Why dont you all try to be creative? Great fans dont have to be dirty, they need to be unified and original.

It seems like it could be skirted by paying him a dollar, but by the TSSAA rulebook you can only have so many coaches. Also, why doesn't the team just classify them as a statistician like a lot of teams do.
