Polk is a fine football team. Polk has good coaches. Polk will win this district. I think they will be 10-0 or 9-1 and dominate their district.BUT EVERYBODY TRYING TO PUT THEM ON ALCOA'S LEVEL.not so fast my friends.Not even close..I watched Loudon take it to polk and Loudon hasn't beat Alcoa in how many years. Lets just be real about this situation this is a weak region and the winner of the region may win 1/2 playoff games as always. But lets not keep making threads and replies bout polk making a run at Alcoa. I know everybody is wanting to beat Alcoa but I have seen a few threads and quotes bout polk or alcoa for state champs.....POLK IS NOT A STATE CONTENDER....they will dominate this district but not on the state level...NOBODY IN DISTRICT 5 AA will make a run for the state.

I was at that same practice that you were at. They said they had 43 that day. I was told between baseball, track, soccer and the incoming freshman class that they would have 30 more players on the roster. Now we all know that you lose a bunch of guys during spring and summer workouts...lol...but i havent heard anything since then. So, i would look for them to have between 50-60 players this season which is still a good number for them. and if i am not mistaken they will have a solid qb that didnt do spring ball due to baseball. Any info on how many kids are out for meigs now?

last time i talked to some of the coaches at Central they had close to 70 players out. That was right before spring practice. But i heard they had a couple good transfers. AS ALWAYS. I also heard that they have a few lineman return to the field after a year off. From what i can get they will be BIG this year

heard a rumor that they were trying to get all 3 of the guys to be on staff next year...also heard that Wilkerson probably will not get the job because he may not be around much longer..i would hire him if only for a fewyears...but..How good would the staff be if they had all 3 of these guys coaching...Who else would be on staff? how many jobs are open? when will they make a decision?

I am pretty sure none of those guys played against loudon. Central didn't get their full roster last season till week 3 or 4. The so called stars didn't take part in the loudon game, so it was not a factor.

WHAT???Hart was arguing calls and they won 13-3...sounds to me like he didn't need to be arguing any calls..i thought it would be a better game than that..good luck to both teams

I'll take Central over Polk. That seems to be the trend in all sports the past few years. But I expect it will be a good game. Since I have been in this area these two teams have had a bunch of good games in all sports. What time and when is the game. Should be a good setting for high school baseball

i heard it was at soddy..i'm not sure it will be a close game as many think... i think central has alot of key players not going through spring practice...i'm sure soddy has most of their starters...But if soddy lost alot of defensive players central may be able tokeep it close...its hard to stop the veer/midline if your not use to seeing it..

what...they kicked moss off the team to...man i didn't know that...I am not sure but i am willing to bet they have a few key players out for the spring due to other sports...i would give the edge to soddy in the spring...most 6a schools should have more players then the 3a schools..

Well rankin's decision was alot easier it was at school....the AE situation is not at school...they should have a conduct policy in place that covers this situation, but you never know not many people expect kids to be arrested.

If they are good enough to play at FSU let them play....lol...Florida State is known for having thugs and winning...UT is known having pot heads and losing..this crap happens at ever school it just depends on how you deal with it...Look at Fsu and Miami they had their best teams when they were known as thugs and everybody respected them...does that make it right no, but they wanted to win so the coaches did what it took to win...as far as AE goes how bad do they want to win...is the school administrators in it for winning games or training the kids for the future

what happened in the press box at central friday night...i have seen two post on coacht say that central's coaches did something in the pressbox but nobody has said what it is...somebody tell me what is going on...DID THE 2 COACHING STAFF'S GET INTO IT OR SOMETHING..

Wow the classless central coaches and fans raised money for a Polk county family... Some of you Polk fans need to get real...that does not sound classless to me. Great job classless coaches that cant coach at all and only win because you have good athletes... great job to the thugs and classless players at central high for beating the best defense in the state all night long...many people thought you were to classless and undisciplined to play with the Perfect County cats..
