This game might be an upset. If Central can get their offense going, their defense led by LB Brent Hayes will do the job.

Alex Crabtree did start at fullback.

This is definitely a hard game to call, but I'm going to have to go with McCallie to pull out the upset in this one. I think the team will really come together and pull it out. Close though, 31-28 is my prediction. Again I think this game is almost too close to pick a winner, but I am leaning towards McCallie now.

Hey Irishbum, Any thoughts on the Brentwood Academy/McCallie game?

Not that anyone cares, but our JV team played really well in spite of that yesterday. We won 32-0 against Tyner. I just hope we can take that intensity to the practice field to help the varsity get ready and improve for a very tough Brentwood Academy team.

There is an incredible sophomore linebacker for Central named Brent Hayes. He had 24 tackles in the game against East Ridge and a couple of weeks ago was the top tackler in the Chattanooga area. I don't know where he stands now, however, but he has done extremely well for a sophomore.

Does anybody have anymore opinions about this game? I think it will be a great game, but I personally think it's to close to pick a winner. I think it is the game of the week for the Chattanooga area and maybe even the whole state.

Irishbum, Just to let you know Finley Stadium is in Chattanooga not Nashville. I think your rankings are very good though.

Nice run-on sentence oh sorry but its hard to beat a team like mccallie when catholic was not playing together at all i feel like alot of catholic players gave up on that game but maybe thats just me b/c you need all 11 players doing there job not just 2 or 10 you need all of them no matter if the other team is good or not

It got postponed or canceled. The score when they stopped it in the first half was 7-6 Central.

It was only two guys. They shut him down. If they had 3 they would have just thrown to the other guys but their coverage was incredible.

A player to look for is McCallie's freshman Dwayne Caldwell. He is impressively fast and very strong. Watch for him to make an impact for the Big Blue if not next year than the year after that.

Why would you rank McCallie below Christian Brothers?

Don't even start to say McCallie was not that good last year. They would have killed Boyd if they would have played them. All I'm saying is you can't base your idea on ho good a team is now on how good they were in the fourth practice of the summer. I think they are better than Boyd is this year so that's why I ranked them above Boyd. It's easy. [Edited by BigLu43 on 9-15-02 2:04P]

McCallie struggled with Tyner because it was their first game. They had about 15 new starters with no experience, but after their last two games they have gained more experience and maturity. Also, you can't rank Boyd over McCallie because they beat them in a scrimmage early in the summer. Everbody beat McCallie in scrimmages early in the summer last year and look what happened to them, they won a state championship and were arguably the second best team in the state. And as far as ranking Ooltewah over those other teams goes, I've got one thing to say, FOSTER.

1. Tyner 2. McCallie 3. Baylor 4. Boyd-Buchanan 5. Ooltewah
