First I want to say Congrats to Independence. You guys have a great team and were better than us last night. I do wish that more fans would have came like at the Millington game two years ago, but it was still a great atmosphere all around. The fans heckled us the whole time we were warming up, but were all on the field to shake our hands after the game and the players especially #7 and #81 showed tremendous class after the game. When your kids do those types of things it is definitely a reflection of your coach and his staff. Good luck next week. As for our kids, hey 1-9 to 10-1, what a turnaround. Schedule or not. There were several times this year where these kids could have folded up. Millington, Bolton, Cordova and Craigmont were all close games and our kids refused to quit. This team was a very special team and these kids are why I love coaching so much because they were awesome all year, so hold your heads high guys. We had an awesome year and hopefully we have started a tradition of winning. Congrats on an awesome season. Go Tigers!!

Yeah we have about 22 or 23 seniors and most of them play significant minutes for us so I dont think we are that young. Maybe he was talking about inexperience who knows. He did say he had gone down to the corner store. LOL.

I was actually trying to get you guys to bite on the comment made by the guy from Indy about their team that year. I do have a real question though and i am not trying to be a smarty pants. What is up with the crowds at Millington? The Craigmont game was awful and so was ours and it was for a dang district championship. My wife was at both of them getting rained on and she was just their to help me take a look at you guys. I know she is an awesome wife, keeper and all around diehard football fan, but geez you guys deserve better than that. That is one of the things I remember from that year yall had was the crowds. Man they were awesome especially that Indy game.

I was at the game two years ago...and yes I have to say I was pulling for the hated Trojans. Haha. If you guys were to be the last team standing in the semis or finals I would pull for you then as well. The question I have for the Millington fans is Werent yall beating them for most of the game two years ago? My memory is getting bad and I was just wondering.

I dont think GoChiefs post was meant to sound like he was blaming it on the weather. He said himself that Bartlett just whooped them up front which is surprising since many teams could not do that this year. In my opinion he was not trying to blame the loss on the weather. GoChiefs is not one to make excuses.

Good post Spartanfan. Just want to put my two cents in and then it can go away. HaHa. First of all I applaud Millington for not just giving the District Championship away. They played their butts off and we knew going in it would be a dogfight. I think the FR RB is going to be a good one. Yeah they had a lot of yards in between the 20's, but in the redzone our defense stepped up when they needed to. We were fortunate to get the fumble and the QB threw the ball right to us on the Int. We had no turnovers and that is what helps good teams win close ball games. So it is easy to sit here and say well Millington gave the game away, but they had a chance in overtime just like we did and we made the plays to win it. I think Dou, Cam6 and the rest of the Millington bunch would agree. I am proud of our guys and so far it has been a magical year and hopefully 10-0, 5 to go. I am going to always be classy when I post on here, but it is like someone told me last week. I probably should stop posting since I am a coach, but just wanted to give an Arlington perspective on the game.

I bet he is going on the fact that Mt Juliet has been good for a couple of years running it and so has Riverdale. Isnt this Lawrence Co's first trip to the postseason since the 80's? I think that is what he is saying. Yeah they had a good year running the Wing t, but these teams are post season bound every year.

That is correct. Craigmont is a very physical team offensively and defensively. Huge OL, fast RBs and a good little QB. Defensively, very fast with hard hitting LBs, big DL and probably the fastest secondary that Lawrence Co has seen all year. Good luck to both teams. What does Lawrence Co do and have on their team?

That is correct. Coach Sutton coaches the DB. Jim Dodson is the DC and in my opinion one of the best in the area. Craigmont's defense was subpar until Van Hooks let him take over.

Yes our head coach knows I get on here and he does not have a problem as long as I dont talk about things we are doing and so forth and so on and I dont add fuel to the fire. Reading inappropriate comments gets me riled up is all. Sometimes people who really dont know what they are talking about just should not talk about other teams is all I am saying. I am not directing that comment to you ateam and for the most part I agree with what you were saying. I just was not gonna agree that we would beat them by 2 scores. Dont want to give them anything from over here. I just get tired of reading the Millington people's posts b/c I get a little bit of arrogance and cockiness out of them.

Good post Footballismylife. No excuses just a Chief congratulations. Some people get on here and say "congratulations Chiefs, but you wont be playing in the 3rd week of the playoffs". That is like saying well "we were the better team and they wont get very far". This is what I am talking about and Bmack, GoChiefs and some others can back me up. There are some good Trojan posters, but there are others that for some reason love to sling mud and bash other teams. We could get on here all day and say certain city schools were this or that or awful or garbage or whatever, but that would not be the right thing to do. So when you start saying well this team is this or that, then people start to get ticked off and it is the same ones over and over saying these things with the same ones over and over trying to take up for them with sarcastic remarks that only make people more mad. The comments made by ateam are not a reflection of how we feel here at Arlington. We know it is going to be a dogfight and are we by no means saying we are going to come over there and stomp you guys. It should be a good game by both teams. To the classy Millington poster on here, you are a solid group of fans and to the OTHERS, you are the worst bunch of homers I have ever seen.

BMack they did. Must have forgotten who you were dealing with? JodyJoe the Southwind JV team has some athletes and after we play our locked in soft schedule next year then we could see....but I am sure we will play them again in JV next season.

Well hopefully we will bring more fans next week, but my question is where were all the Millington fans...was surprised to see there were not that many fans on the home side.

Your right it was 5 starters and then a player who helps a lot. Heard this straight from a coach's mouth. As for the Arlington sweep, that junk is coming from fans; now whether it was a joke or not I dont know. I do know this we are a classy bunch over here and we dont go around disrespecting other teams or programs. I honestly did not hear the Metro broadcast and really do not care. Like I have said before we know Millington is way better than their record and they in my opinion are still the region champs until someone knocks them off, so there may be people talking about a sweep or what have you, but trust me it was not from our players or coaches, but if you guys need to use that as motivation then so be it.

No t-shirts here. We are smarter than that. I was at the game and yeah the Chiefs pulled it out, but we are in no way taking the Trojans lightly. It was a good game tonight between two good teams. One of the more impressive things was the fact the Chiefs got the win without 6 suspended starters. Good job Chiefs!! Either the Trojans are gonna continue to be the king of the mountain or the Tigers are gonna be wearing the District crown. We are excited about the opportunity over here at Arlington. Should be an awesome game!! Go Tigers!!

Not surprised it turned into a Millington-Arlington freshman thread.....one Craigmont poster on here (GoChiefs) and the Millington fans arent as vocal as usual. My guess is this thread will be dead until later tonight.

It has been a fun season for all of our teams just hope we can keep it rolling. Hopefully we can finally be a consistent team like some of the other Shelby Co teams and represent this side of the state when people talk about West Tn in other parts of the state.

Millington played a great game tonight to spoil our undefeated season. However one loss does not discredit the season they have had so far. One game left against the Wolves of Cordova next week. The future of Arlington football looks bright. Our 7th and 8th grade teams are pretty good as well. Go Tigers!!!

The kid that went after our QB has been a problem child since he stepped foot on the Chiefs' campus. Dont know what will be done to him, but something needs to. I have a feeling Van Hooks will take care of it.
