Anybody know the Ravenwood/Independence score?

With recent events, like Science Hill up in Oak Ridge this past weekend, thats a good question. I would think it would go down 3-0 because most tournaments award points for up to 3 goals. Thats just a guess, if anybody else actually knows please post.

Where are your rankings this week MVM?

I'll take the three road teams in these contests: Farragut I believe is a better side than Bearden, CAK is playing well and will come to play, and Oak Ridge is riding high after a big weekend.

I watch Adam Gonzalez, from Cleveland, about once or twice a week and it seems every other game he makes the most outstanding, most acrobatic save I have ever seen. I haven't seen most of the other keepers yall are talking about but Adam is without question very talented.

Most games are at ORHS, but a few on Saturday and Sunday are at another field.

Cleveland at Dalton on Tues. night. Dalton is always pretty good as far as I know, but has anyone seen them this year? Any comments or predictions on the game?

Okay.. We've lost sight of the thread. Does anyone else not find it hilarious that SC thinks they can beat anyone??

The Cleveland tournament was rescheduled and moved around as well a couple weeks ago. But as far as teams just playing their 16 games and not signing up for tournaments, I don't think the bad luck we've had lately with the weather will stop the tournaments; they are good opportunities for teams to play some great competition and play some teams they wouldn't normally play. Tournaments also give teams a feel for where they stand compared to the competition and what they still need to work on throughout the season.

Yep they're solid. I've only seen them play once and they beat Walker Valley pretty easily; but they have some quality wins on the schedule.

How did Independence/Brentwood, Hendersonville/CBHS finish?

Somebody post the score whenever its over, I want to know how this one winds up.

I thought I would add Cleveland does play a few more quality opponents, they played Chattanooga Christian to a 0-0 tie in a preseason scrimmage, they also played Baylor and Cookeville in the Cleveland tournament. Coming up they play Bearden and Dalton on the schedule and there is usually some really strong competition in the Oak Ridge tournament, I know they play Science Hill, Independence, and Christian Brothers in that tournament who are all usually pretty stout. Unfortunately, the district isn't very strong with McMinn Co. down this year. Also, coach Brose is trying to get Alcoa to come down and play to make up for the game that got rained out at the Cleveland tournament.

It was a really good game, but i think what held cookeville in it was the field conditions. there was tons of water on the field. no one could keep their footing at all. and it was easy to tell that cleveland outplayed them and absolutely dominated the game. Great tournament by Ravenwood they played very well, but I really would've liked to see a Ravenwood vs. Cleveland or Ravenwood vs. Alcoa match-up. I wish the tournament would've had a semi-final or final to determine the winner rather than just on points and not playing the same competition.

i thought this whole topic was about Brentwood vs. Knox West.... guess i read it wrong.. bottom line is that it sounds like knox west was more over rated than anyone.. 3-0 loss to Brentwood... ouch.

I agree with this guy. Everyone's opinion depends on how many goals they score in a season. Or who does more in a weaker district. What about defenders or keepers? They contribute just as much to a team and get no recognition. There is no best player in the state. your decisions should be based on the positions they play.

I see it as every team having a possible upset. We're down to the top 8 teams in the state and everyone in it deserves to be where they are. Those who are overlooking Cleveland are really making a mistake.

I think now that we are down to the top 8 that just about any team could show up and beat anyone. I think you will all be surprised with the level of play Cleveland is at especially. Look for a Very possible "upset".

Both teams have had a great season thus far, haven't seen either play but on paper I gotta go with West in a close one.
