Cornersville won't be at Full Strength. Jr. Haley Fagan a Major College Prospect (UT - Miss State - UGA etc) in Softball will be on a recruiting trip to the University of Georgia on the 31st.

Championship Game went to Worth 16-2 over Thunder 93. Congrats to Michael Connell and the Worth Ladies. Outstanding Pitching from Caralisa Connell & Haley Fagan. Can't say enough about the catching and pitch calling by catcher Kendall Hooper. This Team has really flexed it's muscle the past two weekends in Cincinnati & Chattanooga. Great Job! ..... Lets peal the ole onion back here and use a little good ole common horse sense! Someone has well said "if you want to find the motivation behind most things that happen in this old world, follow the money." Anyone who has been around this game (fastpitch) in the modern travel ball era for any period of time (for me about 12 yrs now) knows that. Just like any travel ball tournament you play at, Spring Fling is nothing more than a Fundraiser for TSSAA. They just happen to be the sanctioning body of TN HS Sports. No different from ASA - USFA - NSA - Etc in summer ball. This tournament, like most tournaments is a fundraiser. If it was just for the LOVE of the GAME the admission cost, entry fees, etc would be just for covering expenses (umpires etc). They've got to pay ole Ronnie & Bernard's salary! As long as we're crazy enought to pay it, they'll ask for it! They whine almost every year about how they're not making enough money at Spring Fling. Maybe we should donate a little cheese to go with that whine! It's also about the money with respect to get girls getting to the next level. Most (not all) of us who are involved in this sport past the U14 level are in it for the money. Even though I absolutely LOVE this GAME. My wife says a little too much sometimes. I wouldn't invest the time and energy I do now if my kid didn't have the potential and desire to play at the next level. The letters & calls were getting now from coaches at next level does provide some additional motivation. Having Said all that! What did you expect! Follow the Money!

Congrats to the Ladies from Cornersville High School 2009 Region 6A Champions after defeating a good Summertown team 8-3 on Wednesday night. Savannah Cole got the win 7K's thru 5 innings of work. Haley Fagan came in and struck out the side in the 6th and finished with 4K's in two innings of relief. Cornersville scored 8 runs on 17 hits including three homeruns. Amanda Griggs 3-4 with two homeruns. Makenzie Hopkins 3-4 with one homerun. Erica Blackwell hit homerun #4 that was just foul down the left field line. The Lady Bulldogs now 31-5 will host Houston County Friday night. Congrats to ALL THREE Marshall County Teams who will host Sectional games on Friday night. Softball is alive and well at Forrest HS - Marshall County HS & Cornersville HS!!!

We almost went to Knoxville today to watch Florida & Alabama in SEC Championship game. Rain scared us away! They got it in, Flordia won the Championship!

Haley is ready to start playing TB. We worked out this morning for 2 hours. Batting cage and lots & lots of long toss. She wants that velocity to be UP!
