  1. My question is why wasn't Coach Hill in the coaches chair???...Hmmm????to me he is the best coach of the county!!!
  2. I know both teams pretty well and The Mustangs has the edge....but Lewis County has a pretty solid team..and this shouldn't be a blowout......If the Mustangs take them too light like they did the Yellowjackets last year it could be an upset....even though the Mustangs had the better team Fairview came in and slid out!!! Huntingdon 28.......... Lewis County 21 That is if they put Sharp in at DB!
  3. Although this might seem like a high crime to some and to some just a prank.........this one is so simple.....MAKE THE ONES THAT STOLE THE HELMENTS SIT ON THE BENCH FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS.......But make them strap on the helments they stole and wear them the whole time....DURING THE GAME!!!!!!!...lol
  4. The Fairview game is where you need to be...The Jackets need this one real bad!!!!....come ole buddy support the teams you rate each week....lol...
  5. Hmmmmmm!!!!..that was sorta a stupid comment...why should I be bitter..???..not the least bit!....He's playing ball and getting an education....thats what its all about. All I did was respond who would win......I think the west Tn players have the better chance....thats the bottom line.Like I said good luck to all
  6. You can bany on one thing.......and this is a promise.Whoever is from west Tn will win because the voting of the papers do it.Last year was a joke....west Tn sportswriters rule and thats a fact//..........yards doesn't mean anything and neither does the ponits....if you don't think this is a fact....check out last years 2A results................point proven!!!!!!!!!Good luck to all!
  7. Last year it was a battle to the end....Cothran had 342 yards rushing and coach Winkler almost pulled it off......who will win tonight???
  8. Hey 33 I think you are talking about ole 22 from Fairview..he got some good playing time.!st carry was for 8 and then a couple more for 3 or 4 yards.I agree with bulldog 69 ...They were outsized by far but Cumberland will do well in their league.Number 8 Bubba at ML is the real deal he was all over the field,Delta had a reciever that was as good as it gets in any leauge he caught several TD passess. Can't wait till the next game.........Cumberland has some great talent and like bulldog said..they are loaded with local talent.I suggest that everyone around close, come out and see some great games.....its gonna be fun!!!
  9. First of all I support the Jackets and the coaching staff. The Jackets will do fine this year but too many post are saying they are better than last year......I would rather see them saying they are as good as they were last year.Better......don't think so.They lost too many horses!!!Players like Adam Stinson who was the best blocker at fullback that I have seen and also led in tackles on defense,Corey Dedman 6'3 270 and would lay the smack down on the defensive line,Lance Furman 6"5 275 was MVP lineman in the Region two years ago,Victor Douglas who return kicks with blazing speed,Ole Smiley who led the Region in interceptions and Norvell who was in the secondary.Dustin Arney who was a three year starter at center and Andrew Scisson who was an outside linbacker. Not to mention Aaron Cothran who rewrote the record books .Losing players like this would hurt any team...and I mean any team! This year teams need to deal with their own identity and prove they are as good as they were last year. They also need to be proud they are part of a team that brought Fairview out of year after year losing seasons.....With players like Charlie Hilgerson who will go to the next level without a doubt...Joe Hugins who if stays healthy will as well.Dust England is doing great this year in throwing the ball....I feel they are going to have to put the ball in Jarrod Mangrums hands more.Ole Zack Walker is making some big plays on Defense and Bobby Martin will be fine at the running Game.Coach Rewis is doing a great job but has a secret weapon in Coach Ron King as he is quickly getting known for picking other defenses apart.I hope I didn't leave out any players by mistake but these are the kids that will have to step it up.....To maintain the winning seasons to come.We have to keep the mistakes down ....Hickman County is rebounding and will have a good team to come.Take each week and be prepared for any Friday night could be good or bad. With closing I would like to say good luck to the Jackets Friday......I will be there cheering you guys on and then at Cumberland on Saturday which I will watch number 22 in a different color open his college debut...........................GO JACKETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. Hey Bullpup!!!!!!why are u trashing the Jackets....seems to me they are the smallest school in the County...although they had one of the best players in the County last year in number 22.They have played and will continue to play big schools, but then they still should play schools on their level.I know some of the teams in the county would love to beat up on them...but then again I know for a fact that the Jackets went and pulled for the other county schools when they could. So quit your crying and support the schools in your county..if you go to a 5a school then play 5a schools...if you go to a 2a school try to play the teams that have the same number.......the Jackets will have a good year even though they lost some horses..I wish them well and will be there to support them......as well as other Williamson county teams.....Go Charlie and Big Joe......you guys are the anchors!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!............Also go Bulldogs from Cumberland....I will be there every game!!
  11. Where are you MEAN??????>>>>I think the ole Jackets need you to git them fired up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Man wait till ya see them YellowJackets from Fairview....whew!!!!....several 6-2 to 6-4s......260 and up..on both sides of the ball......man Coach Rewis is feeding them boys!!!.....Good luck to all..just a few more weeks away!!!!!
  13. Hey!!!!...nobodys mad here..lol...like I said it was just an honor to be a part of it...I was stepping in for my boys in Lewis County..and for Mr. Redlum....so don't get that started.........I still don't think the best played...on both sides....bottom line.......I really thought myself the best players on the field was the kid, QB from Riverdale....and the Kicker for the East.....that kid I believe his name is Conner......could kick it a mile....its a shame the big D1 schools here let that boy get away!!!!!!......the 10 point rule was the outcome of the game..I agree with you...but the East coaches was moving players in and out......I still think that was a plus in their win.........not a mad parent here...just proud!!!
  14. Fewfaw.......Hmmmmm....now I am jumping in for Goldenboy and redlum.....Now you can talk to someone that probably knows more than you...and I am not a kid.I have coached and played the game.I also was at several practices seeing how the west was looking. They had plenty lineman that could have went in at certain times to help out in the game. These young men are allstars and I asure you an 18 year old youngman could go many many many months and not be that bad out of shape to at least come in and out for several plays....its called rotation and if that would have happened it would have given the so called"BLUE CHIP" players a break. But the coaches was determained to put the big names out there and the East coaches rotated theirs and that was the outcome.I am a Fairview fan and I asure you that Lewis County has always had one of the strongest programs around.I think what Goldenboy was trying to get across and not complaing at was that you had a lineman that is 6'7 and not fat that is very agile, only had limited playing time...and a kid that led the whole state in rushing ,touched the ball twice????.....goes to show that something in the mix is really mixed up...lol...if the kids that you said practiced better and they should have played..wrong!.they were missing blocks in the game it was time for a change..don't you think?I mean I have seen players practice all week and looked fantastic but when the game started they blew up....just like Saturday. To Redlum.....your kid is an allstar and I am sure he will continue to the next level...and I wish him the best.To Aaron and Bobby....you guys are the best and I have enjoyed watching you play against each other over the years...was hoping you two would have seen more action with each other though...but that is history....now don't let some of these guys get to you...Goldenboy keep up the good work and I want the thank the SHRINERS for doing all they do for the unfortunate kids in our great state, and to CoachT for giving the "KIDS"...or"sideliners"..and proud parents ..lol.. a website to enjoy and have fun with.Congradulations to Aaron for a great year..your my HERO!!!! 2002/2003 season Coaches All State Team All State All Midstate All County{Williamson} MVP COUNTY {Williamson} TSWA All State MVP REGION 5 Murphys Fair Player of the Week Broke all Fairview rushing records in school history Mr Football 2a runner up 2424 yards rushing with 31 tds 91 tackles on defense Three time Region 5 Wrestling champ Three time state qualifier 2003 State runner up in wrestling 3.5 GPA
  15. I agree with Redlum and Jacketpride....the West had great backs and the coaching staff did not use them...they had their mind made up when the game started that they were gonna use only one back. The West also had an extremely back up back up QB that could fly.....They were simply out coached by the EAST....of course the 10 point rule hurt the West...could have probably put the East away...but got flatt and the East started to gel and that was the outcome.Again the coaches from the East used all their backs and kept fresh legs in..I guess they figured all was there for a reason and they used them..it made a difference..I was impressed by Holt from Maryville and the QB from Riverdale...very good athletes.Bobby Cliff had a good game and Cothran was in on every Tackle on special teams only carried the ball twice in deep territory but caught a pass for 11 yards when they needed it!!.......they made our Region proud.......way to go guys!!!!!!!!!!Good luck to all the guys in their future...from what I seen the State of Tennessee has some outstanding athletes and it was an honor to watch all of them play.....
  16. Since the west has a big line........and they feed Cothran the ball.....could get ugly....GO WEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. What will the score be..???... and who will make some big plays for both sides????Lets hear some predictions.............
  18. I think that the athletes that have their own work ethic will continue to work out thru summer as well as any off months.I have seen this dedication in some players at Fairview, one particular stands out in my mind...and most know him.I watched Larry Bird the other night on the tube and he made a great comment...his high school Caoch told him"Larry it don't matter how long you stay..and hard you practice..there will always be another kid that stays longer and works harder and that is the guy you will have to beat"When some keep this in mind, they will excell among others...22 is my hero!
  19. You know...who is on the West and who is on the East?????
  20. Anyone knows where the roster is?????
  21. Aaron Cothran who first signed with Lambuth has changed and signed to Cumberland University. There he will play football and wrestle as well. After considering all taken in, Cumberlands program fit him better.Good luck at Cumberland Aaron...they are getting a heck of an athelete as well as a student and leader.........
  22. Fairview should have another great year...they have some big limeman coming back with Charlie Hilgerson leading the pack. The backfield will have to step it up losing a good FB and and great TB.I think Coach Rewis will mix things up Coach King will have his offensive play calling at his best.I still think it happens in the weight room which I know the guys are hitting it hard each day.I know I will be there to support them in anyway I can...........Good luck to te Jackets and all in Region 5.......
  23. The All Sar Game that is being played at Tenn.Tech cost 300.00 dollars to be a part of . They said it could be paid by sponsors or parents.....I just think it is kinda silly to charge any players money to be a part of a money making deal......any that got an invitation knows there is a price tag........I know for sure cause we have the invitation looking at it!!!
  24. Several players that I know of got invitations to play....the only problem is that the invitations cost $300.00....it's ashame to charge athletes money to play in an "ALL-STAR" game........
  25. I know that Aaron Cothran has changed from playing football at Lambuth and is now going to play for Cumberland....he is also going to wrestle there as well.....hope to see more guys from the mid-state...it's gonna be fun!!!!!
