  1. Does anyone have a list of teams attending?
  2. He's scheduled to wrestle this weekend.
  3. A couple of the more notable matches in the Clarksville-Ravenwood final were from 140 and 171 lbs. Chad Isbell decisioned Ryan Churchill at 140 and Ren Baggett decisioned Camden Greco at 171. I believe Greco defeated Jonathan Roberts of Beech earlier in the day. Roberts is currently ranked #1 at 171 on Brays.
  4. Ravenwood rallies to victory By Jimmy Trodglen • The Leaf-Chronicle • December 12, 2010 With three starters absent from its lineup, Clarksville High realized it was going to need near perfection to take Ravenwood in the finals of Slamfest. And it took Ravenwood a dramatic rally to prevent Clarksville High from accomplishing that feat. Facing a 19-6 deficit only six matches into Saturday night’s title match, Ravenwod, the No. 12-ranked team in the state, recovered quickly, then used the final two matches to pull off a 35-29 win. With the Wildcats holding onto a 29-24 lead after Cody Oliver’s 16-4 win at 119, the Raptors used a pin and a tech fall to complete the comeback. “I was really proud of our kids. We wrestled almost as well as we could today,†Clarksville High coach Jeff Jordan said. “We will be a lot better (as the season continues). We will be back full strength, plus we will be better, and I have a lot of kids that are very inexperienced. “They only have five or six matches under their belts, and at the end of January they will probably have 35 matches under their belts.†The Wildcats finished pool play 3-0 beating Fort Campbell 63-15, Rossview 47-26 and Arlington 44-22. They held off Hendersonville 36-29 in the semifinals to reach the title match. Ravenwood cruised to the title match with a 61-11 win over Northeast, followed by wins over Cookeville (67-6) and Dickson County (55-17). They earned their ticket for the title match with a 46-34 win over Beech. “I saw a lot of heart in some kids that I didn’t know had it,†Jordan said. “If they have heart they will get better. They have the desire to get better, so I feel some of the kids I don’t even think they knew what they were about.†Starting at the 135-pound weight class, the Wildcats fell into an early 6-0 deficit when Ravenwood’s Tanner Reynolds pinned Patrick Grady in 5:05. The Wildcats collected points in the next five matches with Hayden Jordan recording a pin with 45.9 seconds left in his 145-pound match. Ren Baggett’s 11-5 win over Camden Greco at 171 pushed the Wildcats ahead 19-6. Ravenwood narrowed the gap to 19-12 at 189 when Cody Stewart pinned Wes Beagle in 1:25. The Wildcats quickly regained the points when Bruno Reagan finished off his match at 215 pinning Evan Long in 16 seconds. From there, Ravenwood won the next three matches with Kyle Kuennhold’s 4-1 win at 112 closing the gap to 25-24. Clarksville pushed its lead to 29-24 with Oliver’s decision at 119. But Ravenwood took the final two matches on the strength of Jacob Freeman’s pin at 125 and Bradley Butters technical fall win at 130. “Every match went the way it probably should have,†Jordan said. “Some of them, we should have gotten a tech or a major, so we left a point on the table. But it ended up one point wouldn’t have mattered, but four or five would have mattered.†Note: In the other finals, Hendersonville beat Beech in the third-place match, while Dickson County took fifth, Arlington won the seventh-place match, Northwest was ninth and Rossview was 11th.
  5. Ravenwood beat Clarksville in the finals. I believe the final score was around 35-29 and it was a great match. Hendersonville beat Beech for 3rd place.
  6. That prediction doesn't sound too outlandish to me.
  7. Do we have any overall team scores or better yet box score of the entire tri meet?
  8. Hey Coach, can you give us a box score of the Ravenwood match against your boys?
  9. 1. Clarksville 2. Rossview - they lost a few key wrestlers but they'll have enough left to beat Hendersonville 3. Hendersonville- without Jaeckel this year they'll move to 3rd
  10. If the Blaze are infact loaded this year then mark our calendars for December 7. My calendar shows a quad at Franklin High with the following teams scheduled: Blackman, Clarksville, Father Ryan and Franklin. There should be some very good wrestling going on that night if all these teams faceoff.
  11. It's good to see you on here again Coach and congratulations on your new gig at Clarksville Academy. I'm sure you'll build that program into something special in just a short period of time.
  12. I stopped by to check out the action for a couple hours on Saturday. The tournament seemed to have a pretty decent turnout. As expected the Rossview heavies looked pretty good. I didn't see much of their lower weights but again I was only there for a couple of hours. I may not get to see the 189 match I wanted to see this year between Todd and Talley as it looks like Todd is around 215. Yunis didn't wrestle on Saturday but I hear he's now a heavyweight. That puts both Yunis and Bond at heavy weight for their senior year. I guess they'll have good practice partners anyway. North looked pretty good and I suppose he'll be their 189 for now.
  13. These are just some names to watch for from Clarksville High. I'm not even going to speculate on weights yet. Justin Morrissette- many of the lightweights from last season in this region have packed on the pounds, but not him and he's been wrestling all summer. Cody Oliver- he was a region champ at 103 in 2009. He was out last season with a broken collar bone. He's so good that he was ranked all last season and didn't wrestle a single match. Tyler Newton- region runner up at 112 last year Chase Snow- region champ at 119 last season and he's been wrestling all summer. Chad Isbell- 2 time region runner up and he's been wrestling all summer. He's actually getting competitive with his brother now. Hayden Jordan- 6th in state in 09 and 4th in state in 2010. Jarrett Mcgaha- region runner up at 160 last year. Ren Baggett- region champion at 152 last year. Kendall Roselle- Middle Tn Freshman champ last season Terron Conley- state qualifier at HVY in 2009. He did not wrestle last season.
  14. If we're talking dual teams I'd say this is a better representation. 1. Bradley 2. Cleveland 3. Soddy 4. Franklin 5. Clarksville 6. Ravenwood 7. Cookeville 8. Mount Juliet 9. Science Hill 10. Independence
  15. deadlift

    160

He is impresive. He's a takedown artist and reminds me of another ex-Indy wrestler (Seneca). He'll be unstoppable once his ground game truly does catch up with his takedown skills.
  16. 103- Austin Oliver (Clevland) vs Donovan Roberts (NW) 112- Jake Climer (Brad) vs Jacob Maples (Montgomery Central) 119- Ethan Hames (Brad) vs Nick Maxwell (Karns) 125- Eric Fuerbacker (Blk) vs Dandre Morrison (NW) 130- Campbell Lewis (SD) vs Austin Woods (Frk) 135- Marvin Lopez (Cle) vs Chad Isbell (Clk) 140- Aaron Lopez (Cle) vs Josua Brown (HL) 145- Hayden Jordan (Clk) vs Parker Smith (Cen) 152- Brennen Cox (Indy) vs Turbo Smith (SD) 160- McCoy Newberg (Indy) vs Jarrett McGaha (Clk) 171- John Schrader (Frk) vs Ren Baggett (Clk) 189- Cody Davis (PF) vs Tyler Todd (Ros) 215- Michael Kennedy (Blk) vs Tucker Bolton (Brad) Hvy- Patrick Benson (Brad) vs Tyler Bond (Ros)

    189

It should be interesting then in region 7 if Tyler Todd makes it back down to 189.

    Teams

l think we'll be able to find a couple of recruits roaming the halls at chs. We do have feeder programs and summer wrestling opertunities also. I'm even targeting military families nearing retirement across the nation who have state champ/placers for children. A Flier will be sent to each of these families showing the many advantages of retiring at Clarksville in the 37043 zip code.

    Teams

I don't see anyone close to Clarksville High in Region 7 this year.
  20. Has the date for this meeting been set yet? If not let's try and have this meeting before the opening day of the archery deer season this year.
  21. Trackwrestling is not showing any results for TN in greco. Is TN only wrestling freestyle?
  22. The results show the Cleveland team with a bunch of wins but the bracket then shows a few team forfeits. Can someone explain? How was this tournament? It looks like TN had two teams involved.
  23. This should help you out a little with the results. http://forum.gnwa.org/underground/viewt ... =2&t=11007
  24. Would you also please list the schools that these young student/athletes attend. I don't know the schools for any of the schoolboys. This is my best guess for the cadets though. This is based off wrestler searches from the NWCA website, so I'm not 100% sure of the accuracy. Some of the wrestlers were not even listed on the NWCA site so they are probably upcoming freshmen.
