  1. That was my point. They have basically played a AA schedule thus far--Montgomery Central, Creekwood, Cheatham Co, Greenbrier--but they haven't beat a solid AAA team, and got blown away to the one good AAA team they played.
  2. Can't see having Rossview on that list right now. They might be a contender for the AA title, but they haven't beaten anyone at the AAA level to say they are one of the best in the midstate.
  3. What was the difference maker tonight? This seemed like it would be a very competitive game, but 24 points says otherwise. Wasn't there, so maybe someone could fill me in.
  4. Any transfers into/out of the district? I heard that Rossview lost someone to Clarksville Academy, but no idea who.
  5. Is Stanton really headed to Oak Hill Academy next season?
  6. What Rossview player left to go to CA? Why did he leave? Sam has a lot of skills and really is able to run the point well when he's into it. Would really like to see this team make a run.
  7. Is Sam Porter a contributer on this team? I have heard a number of things about him and his abilities over the years, but didn't know how successful he has been since coming over from CHS.
  8. Don't know if this score is accurate or not, but if it is it is a big win for NE. I know this doesn't mean they are playoff bound (they don't need to make the playoffs for this season to be a success), but I am very happy for the coaching staff and especially the players. Lord knows they went through more than any other program in the area in the off season (great job by the administration, but that shouldn't surprise anyone), but these guys have really come together and really represented NE well tonight. Great job!!! Good luck next week!
  9. I didn't mean to imply that referees should not enforce the rule. My point was that when the box is only six feet wide, if a coach takes two steps he or she is out of the box, and now the referee has something else to deal with. Basketball may very well be the hardest sport to officiate (I was a certified referee in basketball and an umpire as well once upon a time) and widening the box may make the job a little bit easier.
  10. Not at all taking away anything Franklin did, but I do know that Moeller is a big football school in Cincinnati and a lot of their players generally play football as well, so it wouldn't surprise if a player or two was missing because of football work. Still, congrats to Franklin on taking care of business. Winning against Moeller anytime is an accomplishment.
  11. I would love to see this changed. Six feet is a joke to try and coach from, and referees are often times too concerned about watching the box rather than something much more relative to the game itself. Most coaches are simply coaching when they are out of the box, not yelling at the officials, which should not be a problem. A final point would be that most coaches will not yell at officials who will talk with them. Too many officials simply won't communicate with coaches which only makes the coaches more irritated and likely to yell at officials to get their points across. Just a thought.

  13. With the situation being like it is (and no end in sight) is there any precedent for the TSSAA to step in and take action? It is one thing for NEHS to choose to ruin their own football program, but when you start affecting the schedules of other teams and a region schedule, it would seem logical that the TSSAA would want to prevent that from happening. Also, if the parents are as upset as they claim to be on here, why are they not making more noise in the public? NEHS gets very little publicity in Clarksvillle, and I imagine that few people within in the city actually know the situation out there. Why are letters not being written to the newspaper and other media outlets to make this situation more publicly known? If you want the school system in Clarksville to take action on something there has to be some negative press around in order for that to happen.
  14. You insinuate that Coach D did something improper. If that were the case why would he not be removed from the classroom as well? He was not relieved of his teaching responsibilities, only his coaching job (and a year before he was to retire, on his terms). Coach D is clean, and isn't going to go around beating his chest playing the pity card drawing attention to himself. This guy is one of the greatest coaches, of any sport, in the state of TN and the CHS administration really dropped the ball here. By the way, his assistant coach is going to take over the program, according to the LC today.
  15. Russell, KY isn't quite coal mining country, but it isn't Metro Nashville either. They compete in a very questionable region, and I think his record was way under .500 for the season. He will be in for a surprise when he gets to Hillwood.
