Thx for the correction yes it was BGA not FRA in week1 loss. The Cougars beat FRA 35 to 10.

Goodpasture might have a shot. Would be an unbelievable turnaround for Coach Joslin and the Cougars who started this year on a 22 game losing streak. Finished the year 8-2. Two loses BGA week1 and was beating Stratford with 7 minutes to go and lost by 1 pt. Very fast and physical team with speed many offensive threats.

To bad NCS did not move up to DII-AA and play teams on their level. NCS should be one of the better teams in DII-AA IMHO. Not so sure they will dominate like many of the Eagle fans think they will. We shall see.

After watching CPA live and up close a few times this year I can say CPA is playing really well and could be on this top 10. I have a feeling the Lions are starting to come together at the right time going into the first round next week.

This was the 4th game this year that the Cougars had an opportunity to play everyone on the roster. Wanted to mention 2 players from Goodpasture. #6 Jermaine Mason went off last night. by scoring 5TD's with 107 rushing yards. Early this year at FRA #6 took back to back punt returns all the way for TD's. Last night he had 2 Kickoff returns for TD's (87 & 95 yards) and an Interception. The Swim Army Knife, #2 Kody Crider finished with 184 total yards and had 3 punts with 44-yard average and placed 2 of them inside the 15-yard line. Never seen a kid flip the field like Kody who is an amazing player that can do it all. He finished with 3 catches 122 receiving yards, 1TD receiving, 53 yards rushing on 10 carries, and passed 1 TD. On Defense at DE Kody had 2 sacks with 3 Solo tackles. Up next Cougars host Harpeth.

White House-Heritage @ Goodpasture 16 MaxPrep Game Preview The Cougars now have secured home field for 1st Playoff game by beating a good young CPA team last night and taking the 2nd place spot in Region 5 3A. Correct me if I am wrong but I think if Cougars win vs the Patriots next Friday the Cougars will secure 2nd round home playoff game as well?

http://goodpasture.football/cpa-16/ CPA is a good team with lots of young talent. You could tell they were young but you can also tell they will be very good next year. CPA had no idea they were running into a Buzz Saw last night. The Cougars were not going to lay down after being down 21 to 10 with 8 minutes to go in the game. In under 5 munites the Cougars scored 21 points to take this game away from CPA. I did want to mention Sophmore #25 for CPA, who might be one of the best receiver in our 3A region. #25 is a really good receiver that made an unbelievable one-handed catch that could have made Sports Center. Probably the best catch I have seen all year. If CPA can get their passing game going they might be very tough to beat.

Goodpasture is in Middle TN and not sure if that would work. If in the East the closest district/regional matchup would be over 90 minutes away. I could see something like this... Sorry if this is a dumb question, but in the future can DII team play DI team for non district/region games? For example can DI team use the open weeks that are non district/regional games to schedule a DII? Or is it now forever forbidden that public's can't play private ever?

The box score from 2010 the last time the Cougars beat CPA. I predict a similar score. Two really good young QB's played in this game. CPA had Albert Mitchell who may have been either a Soph or Jr? threw 4 INT's with 2 pick 6's. Jr Keenan Reynolds who now plays for the Ravens and currently the career TD college football leader had 1 Pass TD and 1 Rushing TD.

East @ Goodpasture Game Stats I was filming on the East sideline and got to talk to John Chavis the Defensive Coord for Texas A&M last night at the Goodpasture game. #1 the Oklahoma commit from East is a big Atheltic kid who looks the part and is fast. Interesting that Chavis was there from Texas A&M watching a recently committed Oklahoma recruit. East has some good size and speed they just look undisciplined and out of shape. #1 Jacob Phillips doesn't have much help and usually makes most of the teams tackles, but he did not have a good game last night. http://goodpasture.football/

I am curious what the rules state about Spiking the ball to stop the clock. Does the player have to make an actually throwing motion? I have not heard the official wording in the rule book for this. I was filming a game the other night and saw this Spike to stop the clock and it looked like he just took the snap and with both hands pushed the ball down into the ground. I thought you needed to at least make a throwing passing motion into the ground.

Just heard they had installed new SOD several weeks ago. They havent had home game is several weeks and were hoping the SOD would take hold but Stratford decided the field was unsafe to play on.
