I think you forgot about the early Brentwood loss, who also has a pretty solid Defense. You know as well as I do that the Smyrna Team you will see tonight is like night and day in comparison to the team that played siegel Brentwood and BA. I think.......think you know Smyrna will be no push over tonight.......and they have a very good chance to come in there and get a win. Yes!! The day is here. How big is this one? It will be a great game with two great teams. Many of us have said it will be a defensive game and very low scoring but it would not surprise me to see a few TD's on the board tonight. Both offences have made great improvement and I can see the winner of this one putting 24 or 27 points on the board. Should be a nice crowd, weather should great (FOR FOOTBALL) Pack the blanket and enjoy the Hotdogs and hot Co. Co. HS football is great and this should be a great HS football game. Wow has this thing slowed down the last few days. It started out like a California wild fire then it came screeching to a halt. I guess whoever the Oakland poster is who told the Oakland folks to stop posting. We'll let the results speak for themselves, has a lot of power there in the boro. Also, I see the percentage of picks for this game has moved a bit in Smyrna direction. It was between 79% and 75% most of the week. Now since the Tennessean has picked Smyrna to win it 20-17, the picks start going Smyrna??™s way a bit. Come on people, think for yourselves. Wow, I??™m reaching with this post. Friday night can??™t get here soon enough. Thank goodness there some good football on tonight because this board has gone dead.

I will be blunt.........Get the facts and be careful what you post. This has been discussed and the powers to be at Smyrna have received the facts and made a decision. They know how better to run their program then we do.

The facts of the case are leaning toward the possibility of the charges being dropped. The young man has a pretty tough home life. A few members of his family have been in a bit of trouble and they are looking into the possibility that he was tied into this by mistake. He is a good young man that has tried to separate himself from his bad situation. His grades have been improving and he is planning to go to collage. The principal and coach have been briefed on the facts of the case and has made the decision to let him play. I??™m hoping for the best for this young man.

Well Coach, First of all let me say Thank you for this post. It was the first I??™ve read a comment on here from a WC poster that did not make an excuse for the outcome of the game. It??™s just very frustrating to me that the supporters of a program blame a play or a call on the outcome of a game. You as a coach understand that there were many factors that contributed to the outcome. Your right, I will normally not disrespect an entire a program for the comments of a few knuckleheads. I guess my anger got the best of me and I may have taken it a bit far. My posts should be directed at the knuckleheads and not the program. Second, let me thank you for your support of Smyrna for their pursuit for a 3rd title. They will need to play very well and I too feel Smyrna is good enough to do it. I have nothing to do with the Smyrna program and have no ties to any players on the team. I am a supporter that has moved down from Ohio a few years back that loves HS football. That??™s about it. I??™ve been involved with Football my whole life, with my father being a coach and playing it at a few different levels. I??™d like to think I have a bit different view of the game then the majority of the posters on here but I??™m not always right. Lastly, I haven??™t been disciplined by a HS football coach in some time now and can I tell you it felt pretty good. Good luck to you sir.

I can say that because it is a fact that "experience" will not put 1 point on the board tomorrow night. Dinner would be nice but it was not you that made that comment. But it is you who feels ???experience??? is what gives Smyrna the edge in this game; I feel it is not a factor. I'm not going back to that argument again. You have you beliefs and I have mine. AHHHHHHHH............I hope you are not taking my comments as, I feel Oakland will beat Smyrna and I feel Smyrna has no chance in this game. I don't think you are but I want to make it very clear. I feel it will be a extremely close game and the teams will leave it all on the field but I think Smyrna will find a way to pull this one out. I'm just not of the belief that Smyrna's 2 State Championships and this "Experience" issue has any validity in Friday nights game. My Support for Smyrna is strong and I believe they have a very good chance to do something great Friday Night and beyond. That, I want to be crystal clear on.

What I don't understand is how "Experience" has ever put a point on the scoreboard or made 1 tackle or 1 block in a game. From what I know about football, that how you get wins. OK............so using your argument only a handful of the Smyrna team will be prepared to play in this game. Wilson.........the QB and Hicks........the RB (who will most likely get the majority of the carries) and several other key players, will be wetting their pants with fear, not properly prepared for this moment? The experience argument is just silly. Both teams will be ready for this game and both teams will battle their butts off. The experience thing will be irrelevant after the first 2 minuets in the game, if it??™s any factor at all.

No disrespect, but Oakland is not used to being here as of late, and its time they go back to where they belong, in the stands watching.??? ???Smyrna obviously has the experience since they have 2 state championships and Oakland didn't even make the playoffs.??? ???Also Smyrna is out for revenge.??? ???While almost all of Smyrna's starters have played in a game with this much on the line, no of Oakland's players have even played in a playoff game until this year. So this is un chartered ground for them.??? If you read the above quotes, what is the common theme? They are all in past tense. They are not relevant to Friday night??™s game. Smyrna is not out for Revenge, they want to win THIS game so they can move forward THIS YEAR! Hey there GWAVE1, I just want you to know that when Gallatin beats them time and time again, and they will, WC will cry foul. They never think they were beaten fairly............They never think any team has the "God given talent" they have and when they loose, they act like babies by throwing a temper tantrum and destroy the locker room. And I'm not only talking about the players, the staff as well. Just a heads up!!! Enjoy having that type of program in your region. Smyrna will miss beating them, year in and year out. Almost all of the starters have played in this type of game? The correct comment would have been a few of them. I would say not even half of them have played and only a few of them have started in a game like this. But how will that make a tackle..........or make a block..........or catch the ball.........or hit the hole? Do you get my point? They still need to execute and experience alone, won't do that. Saying "We're The Champs" will not win Smyrna the game and come Friday night, it mean nothing as to the outcome of THIS game.
