  1. Glad you cleared that up. Was beginning to think westeners thought everything east of Nashvegas was E. Tn.! Kinda like some people from Betsy didn't consider us E. Tn.! You were "almost" in God's country! Rockwood definitely has some pretty countryside; we've played there a time or 2! Until next year, BullDawgGirl03! Godspeed! I consider pretty much everything East of Crab Orchard East, considering that's where you start up the mountain, and not far from where the Eastern time starts! Hope you have a VERY Merry Christmas TornadoGold....now you got a shiny new ring to decorate that tree! Haha....See y'all next August!!!
  2. I personally felt that being AT the game, I felt closer to the players. I enjoyed TTU 100 times more than MTSU. MTSU left WAY too many open seats, and crowd noise seemed so far away. TTU was just like a larger high school stadium, which for the HIGH SCHOOL championships was great! Not to mention, the people were super, SUPER nice! And there were shuttles at TTU for people who took up the free parking offer.....just had to know where to find them...and we did! Er well....he found us! Either way I loved TTU for these games!

I have read some postings where air horns will be present this Friday at the state championships, and I was just wondering if they were legal? ************** They are not illegal, unless an official deems that they are making it difficult to officiate. 4. Congrats to UC for bringing the gold ball back to the west! We were around for the last half of the game, and in the stands for the last quarter and I THROUGHLY enjoyed seeing you guys, fans AND players, stick around to cheer for my bulldawgs with me!
  5. Congrats to White Station for bringing the gold back to West TN from a Milan BullDawg!!
  6. Ok, I'm gonna respond to you one last time. I tried to keep myself from it, but I read this before I left East TN and had a 4 hour drive back across the state and did nothing but ponder.... The reason you give Alcoa a bad name, is you come on here, bashing their opponent, talking smack that you have NO business talking! As I stated earlier, you had no DAWG or F5 in the race, yet you felt it your business to get involved! You are a pot stirrer, and unfortunately you have sucked myself and Huf in. Alcoa, fans and team alike, don't need your smack talk, because they talk very little smack....they line up and well just smack you! lol You first started to dislike me when I stood up 1. for my team when a "proudparent" posted on the York/Milan thread, what came across as bragging about the fact that we had two injured players that night. I have a LOT of pride in my Dawgs, they are all AWESOME kids on and off the field! I get very defensive of my boys, so I was NOT going to let that slide. Anyone on here who knows who I am, knows that I'm not afraid of confrontation! and 2. when a PLAYER from York identifies himself, and then proceeds to call ME a "pompous idiot", I let my emotions get the best of me. It wasn't my most "classy" of moments, but I wasn't completely out of line. He is supposed to be a leader and example, and REPRESENTS his school and team. He or NO player or coach should be on a site like this, and make remarks like that. If you do, and you tell everyone who you are, be prepared for your orgization to be called class-less because that is what you are! You may not have cheered for Milan, and I'm SURE that's why we lost. Truth is, go back and read, I could care less if we have "Wagon-riders" cheering for us. Milan brought a pretty hefty showing of their own, without the likes of you. Now don't get me wrong, I enjoyed seeing other colors and schools there for Milan. But I don't like people using that as if it's going to hurt our feelings. Anyway, I'm done with you. I could really care less if I ever hear from you again....but again that's just my opinion!
  7. Haha....is Rockwood E. TN? That's Eastern time so I call that E. TN! LoL Mom's family all lives there. Actually had some of them come to Cookeville for the game, then we went back to their house and had some good ol' warm chili and strawberry cobbler waitin! Don't get much better than that!!! TRUST me 74, ALL Milan fans were saying this SAME thing. I'm not really sure why we didn't throw a few more slants and such. We KNEW that was Alcoa's weakness, but for some reason, we continued to try to match you guys and run up the middle. Heck if we could have run outside, I think we could have done better. Not saying you guys wouldn't have made necessary adjustments, but we knew it was something you wouldn't have been prepared for from Milan. Oh well....guess that's why I'm not a coach! lol
  8. Interesting. I sure didn't hear any of that. In fact, every time I asked someone a question, the answer was "I don't know". Still like the MTSU atmosphere better. But, like I said before, it could just be that I'm not a big fan of change. Hmm....maybe it's just because they are a fan of purple! LoL
  9. The sign had a Christmas tree and said "We decorate our trees with state rings." Probably the best sign I've ever seen in my 15+ years of high school football games! I loved it...even as a Milan fan. Lol *edit*...had to change this. Apparently I shouldn't try to post from my phone because I don't get it right! haha
  10. I missed the Jumbotron as well...but that can sometimes be a distraction! The atmosphere at TTU was MUCH better, and everyone at the venue made sure to say Hi, Welcome to Cookeville, Good luck, and have a safe drive home! I don't remember ANY of that from MTSU!!! But I will remember that from Cookeville for a LONG time to come!
  11. Milan is good no doubt but this is for YOU! Here you go huf....you barely moved the ball between the 20's. Definately not in the red zone. Cant wait for the excuses.."execution", "pesky turnovers", dominated up front on both sides of the ball, the "non existent" kicking game except the one kickoff, etc....what will it be? I know the F5 D had nothing to do with it surely? Please talk about stuffing the run...Everyone there knew Alcoa was gonna run, Milan fills the box and they still ran the ball and won. Your no longer undefeated and I am sure if Milan played in east tn. your chance of getting to the title game unblemished would have been probably (i said probably) different. Yes I call getting beat 21-0 dominated (both halves). Deal with it and move on. Its basketball season for you now. You should try being more humble in your victory speeches as these type of comments will not come back to bite you. It's basketball season for EVERYONE! Even Alcoa... Difference between you and me....I got a shiny silver ball....you got a wooden plaque. Guess I can see why you're so bitter...isn't that your ONLY plaque that says 4th round?? Now PLEASE give it up Big Daddy.....YOU LOST TWO WEEKS AGO!!!
  12. GOOD MORNING...from the snowy mountains of East TN!!! Oh my Bulldogs....I'm not sure where your butterfingers came from yesterday....but you can take this an excuse if you wish but that was NOT Milan that played the past 14 games. Guess they got intimidated by the F5.....Oh well, I proudly take my silver ball back to the west! As for Big Daddy...he's NOT an Alcoa fan, and he's still bitter that Milan put his precious York Dragons out last week. Sorry bud, but give it up!!!! You got beat by the better team, and so did Milan. Difference is...we get a shiny silver ball....you get a plaque saying you made it to round 4...that is neither shiny or a ball! So suck it up and move on.....you have no dawg...or tornado in this race!!!!! You give Alcoa fans a bad name....and you're not even an Alcoa fan! Without Milan turnovers in Alcoa territory, this could have been a great game! But....Milan did turn it over, so it turned out to be a good game. Milan's D turned out to be awesome against the Mighty F5. Just wondering, how many times Alcoa had to punt on first string before this game??? Alcoa was classy as always, and their true fans have been very gracious on here and know that without those gimme's by Milan, (which is just a part of the game ) Alcoa had the best game of the year on their hands! As for the not scoring, Milan had the choice to get 3 and be just like Loudon, but our coach knew that 3 points wouldn't win the game....so why not just go for it? We gambled, we lost, we move on. IMO Milan moved the ball pretty good....as long as it wasn't inside the red zone! LoL Last year we had like negative 5 first downs....this year we had 11! More than Alcoa....but Alcoa didn't have to have them really when Milan gives it to them on the 8 yard line! Anyway...a loss is easier to suck up when you know you just got beat by one of the top 100 programs in the entire country! At least for me anyway.....but then again read my disclaimer! lol I'm looking forward to seeing kids from both Alcoa and Milan playing on Saturdays next fall! Mr. Toney is a bullet....especially on the outside! Congrats to Alcoa for #6......Congrats to Milan for a great season! P.S. Gotta give props to the cheerleaders for their banner. All of Milan fans read that, chuckled, and said "Well yeah, yeah that's pretty much true". LoL Alcoa is STILL the BEAST from the East, and Milan is STILL the BEST from the West!!!
  13. So we're on I-40 headed east.... After mom spent 6 hours last night trying to get to Cookeville...she woke up only to find out she still had a three hour trip ahead! lol Just finished listening to the Morning Show with Stevie Ray and APPARENTLY Alcoa has already played and won the game because Walmart in Alcoa is already selling shirts.....can we say cocky?????
  14. Not lack of originality....smart! Like Coach Morris said, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em! We're up and gettin' ready! Gonna head out in about an hour or so!!! GO DAWGS!!!
  15. So just some fun facts for you kids that I wanted to throw out into the universe..... On Dec. 4, 1999, Milan went into the championship game as the undisputed underdog. Milan came out as the "Top Dawg"(slight pun intended) of 3A in the state of Tennessee. 10 years later to the day.... On Dec. 4, 2009, Milan goes into the championship game as the undisputed underdog..... We'll find out at 3:30 what happens!
  16. Not sure how they do weather in the mountains but in the west forecasts are updated daily. Making your yesterday forecast null and void, leaving my newly updated forecast the obvious right forecast! Gary pickens even said so with his "accu weather" forecast! Lol
  17. I found the forecast for tomorrow in Cookeville. Just thought I'd pass it along.....
  18. When Alcoa fans look in the mirror, this is what they see..... But once they take those rose colored glasses off.....they see what the rest of us see......
  19. I just wanted to give you guys a little something to chew on for the day......... 1. Remember that number 19, and 88 you all were SOO impressed by and "wow-ed" at last year....Yeah they're still on our team. Still just as impressive..... 2. Let us recall this statment..... We're still big and fast.......... Chew away my friends!
  20. Your talking yelling and singing. UTs band won't be playing while the play is in action. That's the difference. Ask Ole Miss about piping in artificial noise. They tried and were stopped. Air horns are not allowed. I've seen them removed by the school administration. I'm pretty sure that yelling by 100K fans at Neyland is a LOT louder than a 100-150pc band at an opened ended high school stadium.... As for the airhorns....school admin may ban them, but they are NOT illegal as far as TSSAA officials are concerned. I have the e-mail from TSSAA if you would like a copy of it.
  21. There's this little bitty game over here we play called Alcoa vs Maryville. See, everyone praises Alcoas talent but for some reason we've only beat Maryville 3 times since 1993. Now are you saying that Alcoa doesnt have the athletes to play with Maryville? Maryville wasnt always a 4a/6a powerhouse. There have been a lot of great athletes that have come though Alcoa that never beat Maryville. See the key was 10 years ago, Alcoa would dress out 40 players (we had around 300-400 enrollment) and Maryville would dress out 40 SENIORS. Larger schools (on average) have a much bigger advantage because the percentage of people playing football is higher. If you can sub 1 guy in for 2 plays and give another guy 3 minutes to rest that can mean the world in football. Depth is a HUGE factor in most football games. Elizabethton has some great athletes on their team but you could clearly see when their team was on the field during pre game and they were out numbered by alcoa on the other side (and the linemen were still in the locker room) that it was going to be a beat down (physically). Go back and check the scores of Alcoa-Maryville games from '93 to 2000. Look at how bad Alcoa would get beat down in most of the games. Then go look at the past 5-6 years when Alcoa has had depth. Sure we might lose the game still but its no longer 49-14 is 21-17 Hm....I, as a Milan fan, have been pegged as "cocky, arrogant, pompous idiot", yet I make a GENERAL statement, and it SOMEHOW manages to get turned into Alcoa/Maryville talk. My point with this post, and i didn't state it clearly, is I believe classes should be based upon number of players, not school size. What happens if you have a team of 60 guys, but the school is 75% female. Not quite fair to move them to a higher classification. I don't know...made sense at the time....doesn't now....could be the 13 hour days at work!
  22. Wah wah wah wah wah.... I'm so tired of reading Loudon and CAK are this and that and Milan can't beat them. Truth is, Milan doesn't have to WORRY about beating them until they can beat Alcoa! Because as long as Alcoa is around, CAK and Loudon will never know what it's like to play in a championship game, or face Milan. IMO, Classes are just numbers based upon the number of kids in your school. It would be entirely possible for a 1A school with great athletes to beat a 6A school with great athletes. The number of kids in the school has no direct correlation on how good one paticular player is. The ONLY difference is, as the 'A's get higher, so do the number of athletes you have to chose from.
  23. So I love how people blame false starts on the band. And in most places, the band kids get dogged for being...well band kids. lol And one person posted that he couldn't hear the QB and ACTUALLY had to watch the ball. Um....I'm no football expert...but isn't that the whole point of the game? Isn't that what you're supposed to do anyway??? Anywho...I spoke with a member of TSSAA today, and air horns, cow bells, shakers...all that stuff is LEGAL and is allowed. The only time it will be stopped is if the officials deem it distracting to the OFFICIATING....not the game...officiating. If bands continuously play their horns during plays, they can be warned. After the warning can come an un-sportsman-like penalty. But those don't happen very often. You have to be making a LOT of noise for a ref to say anything. I bet any opponent of UT wishes they could get the 100K+ fans to stop yelling and singing Rocky Top while they are on the field too...but you can rest assured that's not going to happen!
  24. STARS and I can bring ya some............ Pshh.....boy please. I may be from the "flat" west, but muh momma was reared in 'em same mountains you're from.....I's know how to make moonshine! But thanky BC!
