First question, why are people losing there jobs at this time of the year? Did they suddenly get worse or are the principle's just dragging there feet? Across the state there are coaches losing their jobs, because they want to go in a different direction. How hard is it to pick a road and go down it? Season ended in late October and here it is middle of Feb. Whoops, I go it. They wanted their Valentine candy and when they got none, Boom, they gone. 2nd question, don't recall who coached the oline at BHS, but I do know Joe Hassell, and he's a good football coach.

Well baseball season is officially here. Guess all those coaches/teams/players that have been practicing since August/September can now 'officially' practice. Practice, we talking about practice, not a game, just a practice.

Just a guess, but maybe CA's coach is going to Rossview.

Draw retirement and still get paid 1/2 his salary?

My main reason for 4 classes is: 1. probably balances out the state more than 3 classifications as far as population from top to bottom (yes 5 classes would balance it more), 2. would keep districts closer for travel and probably not have as many teams in a district as 3 classes would have. I have not studied this or have any facts to base my ideas on, just a guess.

I just looked up on a website and there are 10-12 schools playing 8 man football. Don't know how many are members of TSSAA, but IF THEY were, you could take the smallest 1A schools and have a max of 32 schools playing 1A football for a state championship.

Might transfer to the Fulton zone. Where does the new rule come into play? Where a player transfers to a school where he former coach now coaches. Don't know all the rules but a buddy was telling me about this one.

For some reason I thought Beard was a soph. when Halls played them in the '96 game. Think Bohannon was a senior that year. Could be wrong. 47 years old, could be slipping memory wise. Thanks for your help.

Sweetscience, I think you are right. Don't remember much about his career at 'Bama.

Here is an idea. Make 4 classes in every single sport. Have the same schools in every district/region which establishes rivalries. If a school doesn't have a team in a sport, ok you don't play them. Don't say why it can't be done (glass half empty) figure out how it can be done (glass half full).

Also heard a small college coach that played QB at OR was putting his hat in for the job. Is that rumor out their to?

Think they had a RB that signed with Bama and the coaches son signed with UT also. Henderson was a big man even in high school.

CUO6, Did you go to Halls and play football there? From memory, the first game wasn't as close as the score shows. Halls ran up and down the field. Gilliam had a good game for AC but they only threaten to score once. The semi game was at Halls and the placed was packed. Think it was on TV or radio or both. LL shaved his head as motivation but it didnt work. That game was not as close as the score says either.

Thanks for that info CUO6. Scored 450 and gave up 90 in 15 games (if math is correct). I'll have to ask but I don't think the scores by Gibbs, Maryville were against the varsity. And I also think the 17 points by Cumberland co. were the first points scored in the first half.

Don't know if this is true or not but a rumor in the Crossroads was former CAK current USJ coach was applying for Grace job. Does anybody know if that is true or not?

Don't remember all the scores, but the '96 Red Devils only allowed something like 50 points during the regular season and 90 in 15 games. Halls finished 14-1. If memory correct didn't allow any 1st half points till week 10.

I would think WBHS and Heritage in Blount co. Might wonder if they really care at some of the schools in Knox co.

Doesn't look like Williamson & Sumner Co. to me in Northeast schedule. Dyer co. should have been left with Memphis schools. Much closer. Rossview looks like Sumner and Wilson Co. How does Rossview get grouped with Wilson co in the first place? Think they got the shaft.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. Didn't Coach Brown come from Cleveland to Mo West and now to Knox West? And Coach Cummings left Knox West for Cleveland, correct? Guess my next question would be, which is the better job? Cleveland or Knox West
