The Toppers are still playing so that haven't lost anything yet. More importantly, McGue, Stephens, White and many other key Science HIll players are juniors so they should be tough next year.

Yes, #9 Riley Milhorn is a senior as are South's 2 middles, one right side and one setter so they certainly lose a lot this year and as you know Riley is a special player who will be missed greatly. Of course, they lost a lot from last year's team that finished 3rd in AAA - two starting middles, one outside, right side, and libero and that turned out OK . And they lost a lot from the team the year before that that finished 4th in AAA (middle, setter, libero). So hopefully the beat goes on. As for next year several girls return who played huge roles on this years team and there is some younger talent on the bench and coming up through the ranks that will hopefully develop as it has in years past. Seeing the players mature and improve is what makes it fun! Who knows maybe we will see you again next year!

The HFA students were awesome. I was impressed how the cheered during the match but more impressed how they stayed well after the match was over to greet the HFA girls after the loss! Very impressive. That is exact how I would hope the south students would act if the TSSAA ever saw fit to hold a tournament within 200 miles of Kingsport

Riley mil horn #9 named MVP. Absolutely awesome performance all week. She had everything but the kitchen sink thrown at her to slow her down but she just kept swinging. Ps. That was the hitter I was talking about

Sullivan south beat Sullivan east for district one title 3 - 1 in a match that was completely overshadowed by the death of a south student in a car accident on the way to school this morning. Please pray for this young mans family and his friends at school.

Final 8 - I think were: Brentwood, Ravenwood, Blessed Trinity, Houston, Immaculate Heart, Hume Fogg, Sullivan South , Dunbar (?? - not sure about this). Dobyns Bennett won the silver

The best teams in the state (by far) for the past several years have been public schools.

Would love to know the final results in BIVT. In gold play Sullivan south list to ravenwood in the quarterfinals. Ravenwood was to play blessed trinity of Georgia in semifinals. Looks like it was Brentwood (beat Hume fogg I think) in other semis against Houston or another team I didn't know.

You are right on with this post. South's outside hitter can put the ball down probably as well as anyone in the state but they do not have the size in the middle they have had for past 4 or 5 seasons. This could be a problem against the strong hitting teams. However, these girls play very hard, expect to win and have a lot of experience so I would not count them out.

South is playing in the Brentwood tournament next week. Will HUme Fogg and Page be there? Ooltewah is a solid team. South has beaten them (twice i think) and lost once. Independence is usually very good so it sounds like Hume Fogg has a good team. Maybe they will get a chance to play.

I I would agree with this prediction and based on what I have seen over the years, I would bet on the two teams who win their Region and are playing at home.
